Christian Persecution: The story of Neeha

Neeha and her family lived in Islamabad, Pakistan just a few years ago. When Neeha’s father, a Christian, refused to convert to Islam his 2 year old daughter was kidnapped and mercilessly raped in a field. Her father was able to rescue her but she was left with serious injuries such that she can’t even urinate properly. She’s had 5 surgeries to repair the damage. Rev. Majed El Shafie heard about her story and went to meet the family who was in hiding for fear of their lives. He has since worked tirelessly and successfully for over 3 years to get them out of Pakistan and into Canada where they are now free.

This is the story of Neeha:

One Free World International is the organization that freed Neeha. Here is their website.

Why Obama’s lie to seniors about social security checks is pure evil

Obama’s speech was replete with exactly what you would expect, from blaming Bush to blaming corporate jets to all out class warfare on the rich. But one thing he said that I found more offensive than any of it was when he was speaking directly to the American people, not in some interview, but in an address to the nation in which he lied directly to the faces of senior citizens, if you will, suggesting they may not get their social security checks if we don’t raise the debt ceiling and we in turn default. Honestly, if there was a new low that Obama could sink to, then he did tonight. Here’s the super short video so you can see for yourself:

He’s just a despicable human being to do this. It’s one thing to lie in an interview, but to lie directly to the American people in his nationwide address – I just don’t think I’ve ever seen this level of evil in the White House.

Now here is why I am so adamant about this being a lie from the pit of hell. We all know that social security checks will go out, but we may not all know exactly why. Let’s just say for the sake of argument that we hit the debt ceiling and there isn’t enough tax payer money to cover social security checks. It doesn’t matter because checks will still go out. Why you ask? Well thanks to Mark Levin’s interview with Mike McConnell tonight, we can answer that question:

Levin: First of all you wrote a piece Contrary to the President, Social Security Checks Are Not At Risk. Can you explain why that’s the case?

McConnell: Well that’s true because of the existence of the Social Security trust fund which holds some 2.4 trillion dollars in US Treasury securities for the purpose of paying off Social Security claims. Now in general that doesn’t really help our budget situation but it does mean that the debt ceiling is not a problem for Social Security.

Because if we were to hit the debt ceiling, all that the Social Security trustees need to do is to turn it some of their treasury securities for cash, which they could then use to pay of their obligations. And as they do that, that will lower the total number of US Treasuries outstanding and thus the Treasury can just turn right around and simultaneously sell new bonds to other people to make that up and that would not violate the debt ceiling.

So basically the Treasury securities can be turned in for cash and the Treasury will just re-sell them to make up that money. It’s that simple. And this isn’t rocket science in the White House. The Treasury knows this and Obama knows this as well and yet he is still willing to lie directly to the American people. I’m sorry, but where I come from we call that pure evil.

You are a crook and a sham, Mr. President!

No Mr. President, YOU have fanned the flames and made it a contentious debate. If you had stood with Arizona or even negotiated with the state instead of demeaning this law before you had even read it, the Left would have likely reacted quite differently. But you knew how you could manipulate people from the AIG scandal that, well, you made a scandal when there was none. You remembered the affect it had on the American people, or at least the Left, and you remembered your lefty citizenry calling the AIG executives and threatening their lives over these bonuses that you had approved. Oh yes, you know all to well that you can manipulate the Left to do you bidding.

And that’s what you’ve done here. You’ve intentionally mischaracterized the law to get the Left up in arms. You’ve lied about it and you’ve made your people lie about it. You told your Justice department to sue Arizona over the law, all because you don’t want anyone to enforce the law. You don’t want to risk losing any undocumented Democrats, now do you.

You are a crook and a sham, Mr. President. And I’ll be glad when the day comes when someone who actually cares about this country, more than they care about votes, steps into the Oval Office and tries to repair all the damage that you have done to this country. American will unite to stand against you and we will defeat you, God willing, in 2010 and 2012.

I leave you with the following message:

For those of you on the Left who have trouble processing reality, the above video is a metaphor and not an actual threat.

Paul Ryan calls the Obama Administration a REGIME

It’s one thing to hear Rush Limbaugh refer to the ‘regime’ in Washington. But Paul Ryan says that the only thing he can conclude with all of this paramount spending and taxation is that the current regime running Washington is taking us to a European social welfare state.

Wow.

Democrats are setting Republicans up for failure

Yesterday I posted Rush’s interview with “Stacy the insurance lady” where she exposed how ObamaCare raises the amount per premium that insurance companies must pay on claims from 65% to 85%, which leaves only 15% to pay for administrative/building and catastrophe reserves. Not only that, but after going through the legislation trying to prove her claim, I found SEC. 2718 that states that any of the 85% that isn’t spent on claims must be refunded to the enrollees in the form of a rebate. That 85% now becomes completely untouchable. Add to this the fact that insurance companies must now eat all risk in the form of accepting anyone with a preexisting condition and must also pay 100% of preventive care such as colonoscopies and mammograms. I would also imagine they will have to create a new department with their 15% to manage the new rebate program. It was in Stacy’s opinion that the insurance companies would go bankrupt in a couple of years under this new financial strain.

So let’s play this out. Republicans take over the congress in 2010 but are unable to repeal the legislation due to not controlling the executive. Insurance premiums rise beginning in 2011 as the insurance companies try and earn enough to stay afloat and they will continue to be demonized by the Democrats and the MSM. In a couple of years we find ourselves at a crisis point where the insurance companies are failing due to the new regulations and the Republican congress is left holding the ball. What do they do? Do they bail out the insurance companies? If they don’t then what solution will they employ? What structure will be there to put in place if they let them fail?

If they do bail out the insurance companies to keep them afloat, surely Republicans will be demonized by the Democrats and the MSM, and it will seem that the Dems were telling the truth the whole time, that Republicans are shills for the insurance companies; unless of course they bail them out and take them over at the same time so that the insurance companies are now government entities. I’d bet money that Democrats would love that and surely Obama would sign that bill.

So all this talk of “you can keep your insurance if you like it” will look true until the premiums skyrocket and the insurance companies fail. It will look like the American people are once again victims of the insurance companies. Unless Republicans can stop these new regulations, I don’t see how we avoid becoming a single payer system in the next few years.

Michele Bachmann’s URGENT Call to Arms on Health Care – Glenn Beck Show

This is Michele Bachmann’s most desperate plea on the Glenn Beck Radio show this morning, and I must say that she has pretty much convinced me to go to Washington on Thursday. This really is serious business, and for people asking what to do, this is it right here. She is laying out a plan for everyone to come to Washington this Thursday and meet on the Capital steps with her and Jon Voight, to put a stop to this Government Health Care Bill.

Let’s ALL show up on Thursday at 12:00 noon on the Capital steps. It may be our only hope of stopping this.

Capitalism: A real love story and how it got me blocked on Facebook

I have had a friend on Facebook, who I’ll call Lefty Lucy, who blocked me today for my ‘controversial’ views. One quick note is that we’ve gone to the same church before, so we believe in the same Jesus, which is awesome. Now the back story is that Lefty Lucy went to see the latest Moore fabrication and loved it. Well, I felt the need to share with Lucy how the mortgage crisis really started, regarding govt intervention and social engineering, and I put out the premise that the hard Left is trying to overwhelm our economy by creating more dependency on the govt than we can afford (yes, I know Republicans spent too much too, but I was trying to make a point). I also pointed out that capitalism is the best chance for a man to better his circumstances and that is what the hard Left is attacking. Well I woke up this morning and it had all been deleted. Ok. Then I checked my inbox:

I just thought I should let you know that I am praying for you to lose everything you have by forces which you cannot control. This is for the sake of your soul’s conversion to Christ. Fair warning.

Blessings of the poor,
Lefty Lucy

Well that was news to me, because I do know Jesus and love Him very much. But I do defend capitalism, and apparently that’s where we separate. So I wrote back:

I certainly appreciate the sentiment Lucy. And correct me if I am wrong, but are you suggesting that I am not a christian because I think capitalism is the best chance for a man to better his circumstances?

And here’s the long reply:

You are wrong. It is because you are willing to judge, condemn, slander, and ignore the reality of the suffering of other people, the poor, in order to protect and maintain that belief. Which means that you have lost your sense of God in the worship of a golden calf, quite literally, the idol of capitalism. You cannot let other people suffer and die at the hands of a system, ignore their voices but rather twist their stories to blame them for their circumstances under some bullshit concept of “personal responsibility” simply because you want to believe it is the right one, or more accurately, because it has worked out well for you so far, and claim to know the living God. This is exactly like the Pharisees, like Saul. There is a lot in the Bible where Jesus is speaking directly to people with ignorant, self-righteous, and destructive attitudes such as yours. The bulk of his teaching is devoted to it actually. It’s really hard to miss. You should read the Gospels. He doesn’t go light on them, friend. “It is harder for a rich man to enter in the Kingdom of Heaven than it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.” Hard to spin that one in your favor, I’m afraid. The point is not to get rich, and getting rich will not make a man happy. Getting rich does not effectively “better” anyone’s circumstances. Therefore, because one percent of the population gets rich, and the rest of us are working our asses off at two or three jobs and can barely pay our rent/mortgage or feed ourselves…um, no, that’s not a better life. The majority of the population can’t meet the basic needs in order to even begin thinking about life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. Capitalism is an individualist system, breaking apart communities so the masses, separated from one another, can be stomped on. WAKE UP. Capitalism isn’t working in the real world. Forget about your test tube theories of “it would work if only…” and look around and outside of yourself for God’s sake. Or maybe you can’t. I have tried to talk to you about this before and you have shown that you have no intention of giving up your idols for the sake of Christ. I have dealt with many different kinds of addicts, and this is one of the worst addictions I think I have ever seen. How lost can one soul be? I am just giving you over to His care. And so yes I hope to God you lose everything that you have, so that you will see from the eyes of the least of these. It is the only thing that will save you from yourself I think, give you the freedom from having to look for evil and blame in other human beings, and instead allow you to see the face of God. This I pray for you.

Well I was going to respond, but before I could even put together a reasonable reply I was blocked on Facebook by this friend. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure where to start before I found out I couldn’t. So instead of responding to what appears to be a grave misunderstanding of capitalism, I decided to post this for your entertainment. Feel free to comment on how you would reply to this. I think it would be quite interesting to see where you would start.

Obama Money

Obama is Fatter than He Looks!

I’ll be honest here. I’m a little incensed over this idea that the government is trying to penalize people who are overweight with higher insurance costs. For me this isn’t really an argument about whether skinny people should subsidize the cost of fat people or anything of the like. It’s deeper than that. And I’ll go ahead and get this out of the way – I’m fat. So I guess you could call me a potential victim.

But what really burns me up is the blatant hypocrisy of our government when it decides to target a group of people for some type of excess, whether it be fiscal or physical. When the government refuses to address any of our real problems and then turns around and demonizes a group of people as the ones who are costing the American people money, it’s intentional dishonesty.

We saw this with AIG earlier this year – how Washington demonized AIG executives for paying bonuses to employees with tax payer money when the Obama administration along with Chris Dodd told them they could! And what came from all this stirred up hatred? Death threats to AIG executives. Nice!

We also saw it with the mortgage crisis. Remember, that was Bush’s fault. WRONG! The government effectively started this whole crisis under the Clinton administration by forcing banks to give loans to people who couldn’t afford them, and then putting Fannie and Freddie at the helm to insure all of these mortgages. But who got the blame? Wall St. and the Bush administration, despite the fact that Bush tried to fix it and was stopped by the dems. But has Washington owned up to it yet? Anyone? Barney? Chris?

And now we see it with health care. Most sensible people know that the high costs of health care are the result of many years of government intervention and, in fact, non-intervention. I don’t want to go into a long spiel, but when the government mandates that insurance companies pay for more and more, then the price must go up as they monetize their risk. And in terms of non-intervention, I think our illegal immigration problem speaks for itself. They go to the hospital and we pay the bill. And we all know the need for tort reform. Doctors have to monetize their risk of high payouts and thus the price goes up. And then there is medicare with more government mandates and the lowball prices that they pay doctors and, well, the list goes on.

But is the government talking about fixing any of this? Absolutely not. In fact, they want to put us deeper into debt by creating a public system where they will have to control costs and ration care – and now they want to give amnesty to all illegals so that they can be on the public system. Fantastic.

So when they come towing the line that I have to pay more because I’m fat, because I’m potentially costing American’s too much money, I really want to give Washington a swift kick to the groin and then beat them over the head with a railroad tie. (Sorry, I guess I’ve been watching too many youtube videos.)

Give me a government that is responsible and trustworthy, and I’ll gladly lose some weight and then some. Until then, I think we need to talk about cutting the fat in Washington.

Obama: The Old has Gone – The New has Come!

Many yesterday wanted to focus on the troubling section of the President’s speech to the U.N. regarding Israel. While that’s truly important, I don’t want to ignore another section that gave me pause as I read through the speech:

In an era when our destiny is shared, power is no longer a zero-sum game. No one nation can or should try to dominate another nation. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. No balance of power among nations will hold. The traditional divisions between nations of the South and the North make no sense in an interconnected world; nor do alignments of nations rooted in the cleavages of a long-gone Cold War.

The time has come to realize that the old habits, the old arguments, are irrelevant to the challenges faced by our people. They lead nations to act in opposition to the very goals that they claim to pursue — and to vote, often in this body, against the interests of their own people. They build up walls between us and the future that our people seek, and the time has come for those walls to come down. Together, we must build new coalitions that bridge old divides — coalitions of different faiths and creeds; of north and south, east, west, black, white, and brown.

I went back and looked up other references he’s made to a “zero-sum game” and found one in his commencement speech to Notre Dame:

Too many of us view life only through the lens of immediate self-interest and crass materialism; in which the world is necessarily a zero-sum game. The strong too often dominate the weak, and too many of those with wealth and with power find all manner of justification for their own privilege in the face of poverty and injustice.

I’ll be honest – I’ve never considered America’s pursuit of prosperity to be a zero-sum game. In fact, many people from around the world come here because of the simple fact that it is NOT a zero-sum game. This is the land of opportunity – the land in which a man can do well for himself if he applies himself.

We have become the wealthiest nation in the 20th century for a reason and there’s no reason to look at that with disdain. It’s not that we aren’t without our problems, as capitalism isn’t perfect. But it’s unmistakably the best system the world has ever known in terms of liberty and prosperity. It’s clear though, that our President doesn’t see it that way. He sees the US as a nation that exploits the world in order to amass wealth and he wants to set the record straight that going forward that it’s his expectation that no other nation should engage in such activity. No nation should be elevated above another. Prosperity must be shared among all nations, or redistributed.

And this explains alot. Why does our president feel that we need to offer amnesty to every illegal alien living here? Because he has a guilty conscience. But I digress.

The statement, however, that bothered me most from above is this:

The time has come to realize that the old habits, the old arguments, are irrelevant to the challenges faced by our people.

I’ve just got one question here: WHY? Why do old arguments no longer apply? Once again I looked back and found he said it back in Feb. when talking about energy:

It’s what America needs right now, and we need to move forward today. We can’t keep on having the same old arguments over and over again that lead us to the exact same spot — where we are wasting previous energy, we’re not creating jobs, we’re failing to compete in the global economy, and we end up bickering at a time when the economy urgently needs action.

Wow. It’s never been more clear to me that his intention is to replace our current system with one where the government can control and shape society to fit their ideological bent. And ultimately this control must be ceded to a world body, one that can regulate the actions of all nations to create the paradigm in which everyone is equal and no one can succeed above another.

And this was his message to the world.
