I guess I have to jump in on the White House’s whine factory and its crybaby in chief Anita Dunn.

I admit that I didn’t want to because it’s just so pathetic. But, then again, this White House is just so pathetic.

In a nutshell, Anita Dunn said that Fox News is no longer a news organization but rather an arm of the Republican Party.

Now, I’m the first to admit that Fox has an editorial bias and certainly leans to the right of the political spectrum. But it’s the gross hypocrisy, again, that is so ridiculous about this story.

Has Anita watched MSNBC lately? Who is she kidding? The anchors there, from Chris Matthews to Keith Olbermann, practically slobber with school-girlish giddiness at everything the President does or doesn’t do.

It’s fair to say that no cable news organization is completely ‘fair and balanced’. That much is true. But for the White House to say that they’re going to treat one organization as an “enemy” because they happen to lean in a particular direction is absurd. Absolutely absurd and the entire administration should be ashamed of themselves.

This smacks of authoritarianism in the Hugo Chavez ‘shut down opposition media’ vein. Literally. What is the White House planning to do? We know that the FCC has a plan to backdoor the fairness doctrine for talk radio. Is there something they can do legislatively to shut down Fox?

In today’s climate, I honestly can’t put it past Obama to do something so blatantly radical as making it a crime to disagree with his policies.

So, enter Glenn Beck. I can say from experience that all of the major conservative entertainers/pundits on talk radio (Rush, Levin, Hannity) have openly challenged any liberal, including Obama, to a debate on the merits of ObamaCare. To the best of my knowledge, nobody’s accepted yet.

And therein lies the problem. As we’ve said dozens of times on this site, liberals can’t win a debate on the merits of any of their policies. So instead they have to use the executive branch bully pulpit to attempt a forceful silencing of their political opponents.

Gestapo much?

Beck means what he says, of that much I’m sure. I honestly believe he would like nothing more than for Anita Dunn, David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel or anyone else in the administration to strap on a set of balls and come in for a chat on the merits. They won’t.

Nobody, in all the years I’ve been listening to the breathless rants on the evil that is Fox News, has ever pointed to a single instance where Fox misled anybody on anything. Show me. If you can’t, then shut the hell up.

The administration can’t stand the truth. They can’t stand it because they know they’re lying and that the truth lies exclusively on our side on ObamaCare. Period. There is not a kernel of truth coming from the other side regarding the reasons for or the details of Obama’s universal health care proposals.

They lie and they’re scared to death about it.
