Stephen Fincher TN 8th District

Here in the TN 8th congressional district we are on the verge of replacing a blue dog.  John Tanner is retiring instead of facing the music.  There are a few people in the race, including Roy Herron on the Democratic side.  Herron was running for governor but decided to run here once Tanner retired.  On the Republican side, Fincher is running as well as a Dr. Kirkland.  Kirkland has supported Tanner in the past as well as donated money to his campaign.  Fincher is the man who understands what we need.

Fincher is a farmer…he knows what it takes to balance a budget, run a business, and make payroll.  He is exactly what we need, especially here in TN.  I ask you all to support Fincher in the primary and especially in the general election.  I know redstate.com has already run a few stories on Stephen and I am just asking that we keep the push going.  Last night was just the first round in a long battle.  Let’s keep it going.

Fincher is the easy choice

The guy raised $600K with virtually no help from anybody. It was his initial $300K, totally out of the blue, that scared Tanner into retirement.

The guy is the perfect kind of “outsider,” i.e. a total outsider who obviously still understands the game.

He is doing well

He just spoke at a Reagan Dinner here in the 8th District. All the other candidates were there as well as the 4 men running for the Republican nomination for governor. Fincher was the only one who received a standing ovation. He also won the straw poll with over 60% of the vote. The kicker with that is the dinner was in the county of his biggest rival for the nomination. This guy is going to win this thing and it is going to be awesome!

not quite the truth...

Fincher’s “ovation” and straw poll win were due to the fact that his wealthy family and local GOP insiders who are running his campaign bought the most tables. The “ovation” was planned. The straw poll was about who bought the most seats.

There are some old school, controlling GOP establishment insiders pulling the strings on this campaign (both locally and nationally). Locals are beginning to ask questions, and it has been reported in the Commercial Appeal and Jackson Sun that Fincher is not made available for comment or refuses to answer questions. He has not been made available to local editorial boards for a reason.

Fincher is a good guy; he’s just not the type of guy who can help lead our country in a new direction in DC. Why would he fight the system that helped him get elected when he can’t even speak for himself during the campaign?

We need experienced leadership in Washington to help attack and solve very complex and serious problems facing our country. This is not a time for political games. We need to fix our country.

by the way

swmopatriot – You seem to leave a lot of facts out:

Dr. Kirkland and Tanner grew up together and long time family friends. Small donations to this friend aren’t anywhere close the $20k to conservative candidates over the same period.

Fincher has voted in Democratic primaries his entire life, except for once. Tanner was a candidate in these primaries. Therefore, he has probably been a life long Tanner voter.

Farming business – we could all balance a budget when receiving all those government subsidies that aren’t needed to make a profit. He’s got a new house and pool on your government money. It is hypocritical to say he is against bailouts and stimulus but for ANNUAL farm welfare subsidies.

Finally – George Flinn from Memphis is also a candidate in the race.
