The President has surged to the Left. This after going around Senate Majority Leader Reid in order to prevent a tax increase last December. His current class warfare tactics can only mean that he is scared the Democrat hardcore will not bother to vote in November. So we have a President up for reelection out to write off the portion of the electorate in the middle.
He did say back in 2008 that he would chose to be a one term President in order to do something great.
What is the true disfunctionality in Washington? It is the fact that the Senate has not produced a budget. The Democrat Senate will have to vote for tax increases.
So I ask the questions, does what the President really want is to prevent a 60 vote GOP in the Senate? And preserve ObamaCare?
Are the Republican leadership helping the Democrats by negotiating on the budget and debt limit and/or going along with the Super Committee scam?
Why don’t they just demand that the Democrats in the Senate produce a budget? Let us see it!
Tax increases? Who has to vote for it? Menendez, Mccaskell? What are they so afraid of and why can’t Speaker Boehner and Minority Leader McConnell see this?

Obama
trevorb (Diary) Sunday, November 27th at 10:07PM EST (link)Obama wants to win re-election if he has to tear this country in two to do it. Bad as things are, he still has a real chance of winning a second term. It’s hard to beat an incumbent, even an unpopular one.
Does he really want to win?
tedpomeroy (Diary) Sunday, November 27th at 10:14PM EST (link)Read the Curl piece. The President is talking down the American people. This is sure way to lose yet get America’s losers to come out an vote for him.
what
trevorb (Diary) Sunday, November 27th at 10:34PM EST (link)matters to him, more than anything, is staying in power. He has no clue what he’s doing and has insulted huge numbers of people, because he’s never spent any time in the real world. He will not stand down unless the Democratic Party forces him to, considering him too much of a liability to them and run Hilary.
His statements give a clue as to just how he thinks. I still remember his first speech as President, stating that we will remember this time as when the planet began to heal. Oh, we’ll remember this, all right; as the time when our economy and country crash.
The problem is, and has always been:
funwithknives Tuesday, November 29th at 12:39PM EST (link)Will AMERICANS remember 1 day ago? How many are just trying to survive ,day to day? Does this mindset become so ingrained to the point of rarely acting ,only re-acting, and then, only sporadically?
My point:? How many, by proven, measurable results, REALLY CARE?
You and I remember Barry’s first speech and SO MANY others after that. But how many others can, or have the energy and will to WANT TO??
One Primary Responsibility of a Constitutional Republic’s citizenry is to get and stay engaged. Why else is the word *Democracy * so misused, so often? Ans: to misdirect and to NewSpeak, into acceptance, the average Voting person’s intellect. More and more, an increasingly smaller minority set policy in this country, by so many others simply NOT engaging. The recent elections in my District {Farmington, Michigan}revealed a 17% turnout.
The Real Question Sould Be
Joe Cor (Diary) Monday, November 28th at 12:15AM EST (link)“Do Republicans really want to save America?” They do an incredibly half-hearted job of opposing him and have surrendered to the media’s narrative on what is happening. They make no attempt to keep Obamacare foursquare in the public’s consciousness. They hold behind-doors meetings to “reach out” to Democrats rather than engaging them inpublic rhetorical battle. They make no attempt to explain their positions, and their criticism of Obama is tepid. Obama is very beatable, but only if Republicans have the will to defeat him.
Take Heart, Joe
tedpomeroy (Diary) Monday, November 28th at 12:42PM EST (link)The real purpose the DEMS had for the Super Committee was to drive a wedge between the GOP leaders and the base.
A tax rate increase would have demoralized the GOP base.
George H. W. caved in 1990 and was a one termer.
Of course he wants to win.
