A Healthcare Alternative To Planned Parenthood

The recent controversy regarding the Susan G. Komen Foundation and its decision to de-fund and then re-fund Planned Parenthood for breast exams got me thinking: there has to be another place for women to get breast exams besides going to Planned Parenthood.  After all, in any given year, over 300,000 babies are killed inside Planned Parenthood clinics.  Truly a repellent organization.  Fortunately, there is an agency already in charge of examining people all the time: the Transportation Safety Agency (TSA).

It is not as far-fetched as it sounds.

In only a few months Obamacare will kick in, and many doctors nationwide will be out of work.  So why not have the TSA hire them to conduct breast exams on women and prostate exams on men before they board their flights?  The traveler will not only be checked for weapons but will also be given a clean bill of health for breast, prostate, or other types of cancer.

And let’s have a reality check here: it is only a matter of time before terrorists will begin to smuggle explosives up their rear-ends, so body-cavity searches will someday be required in order to board a plane.  Why not have a group of professionally-trained doctors on hand, not only ready to search for weapons but also for pre-cancerous polyps in the large intestine while they are at it?

And having body-cavity searches before boarding an airplane will probably weed out 99.9% of all terrorists, so just by virtue of having such exams we will end terrorism on airplanes as we know it.

Of course, such searches will keep most non-terrorists from flying too.  But what is wrong with that?  Airplanes are too crowded anyway.  Remember those nice, un-crowded airplane flights before airplanes were de-regulated in the 1970’s?  This will be a way to return to those days.

And have you seen the searches that are already being done at the TSA security checkpoints nowadays?  Do a Google search for “TSA” and then press the images tab, and you can see all sorts of invasive, kinky searches being done on the most harmless-looking people.  For example, I just saw a slightly-overweight, balding white guy getting his genitals searched, and the TSA guy wearing latex gloves turned his palms to the outside, to pretend that he was not directly touching the guy’s crotch.  Right!  Why not just hire doctors to do this search and let them directly touch the genitals, and give the traveler a testicular check-up while they are at it?  That would be a win-win situation: safer travel and more regular testicular cancer screening!

Or how about that woman with her arms held out by her side, getting a full-frontal fondling of her breasts by the TSA agent?  What is the difference between what she is experiencing versus a regular breast cancer screening exam?  Not much.  Except the woman in the Google image went on to her flight and had no idea if her breasts contained the beginnings of breast cancer.  With specially-trained doctors and nurses at the checkpoint, checking not only for weapons but also for cancerous lumps in women’s breasts, at least the women traveler will go to her flight knowing whether she needs a follow-up mammogram or is good for another year without needing another breast exam, all courtesy of the TSA.

And someday those follow-up exams can be located right next to the security check-point area!  After the initial encounter with the TSA, mammograms and pap smears can be offered nearby, so that these follow-up tests can be conducted and still give the traveler time to make her flight.

Another advantage to doing bodily exams at security checkpoints is the fact that no one will claim they are being profiled.  Let’s face it: since 9/11 the passengers who look the most like Mohamed Atta and the rest are the ones who are most likely to be left alone by the TSA.  But a new TSA security search coupled with, for example, a prostate exam, would be a medical procedure that would not only find weapons but would also find out if that traveler needed to have a follow-up cancer screening.  Now, anyone looking like Mohamed Atta might complain if they have been left out of the security screening!

OK, that might be a little far-fetched, I admit it.  But from the stand-point of the doctor-guard, withholding a security check/prostate exam and waving through someone is not letting that traveler out of a hassle, it is withholding from the traveler a benefit.  So the doctor-guards will not even want to wave through any politically-correct class of people like Muslims, because skipping the security check would deny them a benefit.  Why would any fair-minded person want to withhold from Muslims a benefit that everyone else is receiving?  That wouldn’t be fair, and in fact would be discriminatory!  Quick — somebody give CAIR a call!

Yes, folks, this could be the way of the future.  We better get used to seeing less agents in brown shirts and more doctors and nurses in white coats nearby our airport security checkpoints.  It is good for security, good for our health, good for our national healthcare costs, heck, it’s even good for the Susan G. Komen Foundation because it can de-fund Planned Parenthood again.  Safer skies, safer breasts, safer prostates, safer colons.  It is the TSA of the future!

Post 9-11 – World of Fear – Living on Edge!

A little rag tag group of not more than nineteen airplane hijackers, directed by one evil mastermind  from a remote cave in north eastern Afghanistan, terrorized America on September 11, 2001 and literally sent shock waves through the world community that reverberated all the way from New York to Bombay and back! These shock waves set off a scare that hijacked the whole world, and has held us all  hostage ever since!  9-11 was more than ten years ago, and even though all of the hijackers are surely dead, and Osama bin Laden is supposedly dead too, nevertheless we are all acting like we are living in fear, and we are allowing our government to keep us in this continuous state of fear, so much so that the Patriot Act is still thought by many to be necessary today, –  ten years after Muslim terrorists brought down the World Trade Center in New York!

But if that isn’t bad enough, our Congress and our President are looking for even more ways to take away our precious personal freedom, under the benevolent pretext of “keeping America safe.”  ( I’m sorry, I mean they are managing our freedoms.  They aren’t actually taking our freedoms away. They are just managing them.)  On December 31st 2011, Congress passed and the President signed into law, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).  This is just the latest in a string of offences against our precious Bill of Rights, and it is also the newest example of the Federal government abusing its power!  The National Defense Authorization Act allows individual Americans to be rounded up by our military, in our own country, and in our own homes, and summarily thrown into a military prison, without habeas corpus, or due process, and to be held indefinitely on a mere accusation, with no proof  of guilt!   Enough already!  Aren’t you getting tired of all of this?  Aren’t you just about fed up with all of the scare tactics, the fear mongering, and the over reaction?  It’s been ten years since 9-11.

The only time in our nation’s history that American citizens were subjected to this kind of preemptory action by our own government was during the Civil War, and very briefly during World War II.  All of this is being done today in the name of fighting terror.  I’m starting to become more terrorized by my own Federal government than I am of any foreign threat!  What about you?  All this is being done under the pretense of fighting a “Global War on Terror” for which no actual Declaration of War has ever been issued!  This is what Ron Paul is trying to warn us about!  And he is not the only one who is sounding the alarm, – more than ten years after the original attacks on New York!  Are we ever going to be able to go back to a normal pre 9-11 existence, and a normal attitude with respect to individual liberty and the Bill of Rights?  If we don’t reverse this slippery slide into despotism right now, then I don’t think that there will be many of us left who can remember what “normal” was really like in America!  There are just too many young men and women alive today, who were born after 1990, who have grown up under the Patriot Act, who actually don’t know anything different. They think that strip searches at airports, pat downs, and a myriad of other more than just mere inconveniences are all perfectly normal!  That’s the real danger in all of this.  That soon, another generation of Americans will have grown up, who will never know what it was really like to be free!

Every year Congress considers close to forty thousand new laws!   Please read my article The Un-legislative Branch of Government.  How many of these laws are actually helping to destroy what’s left of our magnificent Bill of Rights?  Forty thousand new laws every year that just keep nibbling away at our fundamental protections in the Bill of Rights, those ten basic laws that keep Americans free from an overambitious and overreaching central government.  How much of the legislation that Congress passes each year, takes away more of our personal freedoms?  I would venture to say that a substantial amount of it does!

The biggest threat to America is not coming from Afghanistan!  It never was.  I’m not saying that Afghanistan was never a threat.  I said it was never the biggest threat!  The biggest threat to America is coming from forces at work right here in our own country, that are trying to destroy America, and take away what’s left of our freedom.  I believe 9-11 happened pretty much the way we are told, and that our attackers were all Muslim terrorists. There is no question about it!  But since then, I believe that the effort to apprehend the bad guys has been infiltrated, taken over, re-directed and used by even worse guys, to destroy the concept of individual nations and national sovereignty, and to eliminate freedom and individual liberty all across the world!   Remember the famous quote from Barack Obama’s personal friend and chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, “Don’t let a good crisis go to waste!”

The greatest threat to America today, is coming from forces at work right here in our own country, forces that are sacking our Federal treasury, and loading us up with a mountain of debt!  These forces are devaluing our currency in order to help American corporations sell their products overseas, while at the same time making most Americans poorer by the very same currency manipulation!   And they are also at work insidiously trying to circumvent our Constitution, and destroy what’s left of our Bill of Rights, in order to render us subservient to the State, and reduce us to something less than a free people.  I say enough!  ENOUGH OF ALL OF IT!

That little conspiracy to attack America, which was planned from a cave in Afghanistan, has spread across the world like wild fire, and it has morphed into something much different than what it originally was!  It has spread across the entire planet, and leaders in government everywhere like Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama, are using this crisis to advance their own interests, and the interests of those they serve. Everywhere in the world, people in their respective countries are losing whatever rights to freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and freedom of movement that they originally had, in order to supposedly “protect” them!  Frankly we have more to fear from our own governments!

It’s been over ten years since 9-11, and two foreign wars later, and there hasn’t been another major terrorist attack in America!  It’s time to repeal The Patriot Act and return to some semblance of normalcy, before we forget what normal really is!  And it’s not too late to revoke certain parts of the recently passed National Defense Authorization Act too!  We need to be protected more from our own government in Washington, than we do from Afghan terrorists!  We need more protection from Washington than we do from any foreign threat, including Iran and China.  And people all across the world likewise need to be protected from their own governments, which are effectively returning them to servitude and economic slavery!

Terrorist acts in our own country are miniscule compared to the garden variety of crime that occurs every day on our streets, such as burglary, rape, murder, assault and battery, drug dealing and possession of illegal drugs.  Terrorism in America doesn’t even account for 1/100th of one percent of all of the prisoners in our Federal prison system, not to mention all of the inmates in our State and County jails!

Last year the Patriot Act was set to expire, and Congress had the opportunity to just let it quietly fade away into history, as an anomaly, that was unfortunately necessary to deal with what most of us believed ten years ago, was a serious threat to our country.  But rather than allowing it to lapse, Congress renewed The Patriot Act instead, which continues to allow our Bill of Rights to be used as a doormat by the Federal government to walk all over us!  It was time to end The Patriot Act last year, not to renew it!

Instead of getting better, things just keep getting worse.  Now in addition to The Patriot Act, Barack Obama, with the help of a Democrat controlled Senate, and a Republican House of Representatives, has signed into law The National Defense Authorization Act, which goes even farther than The Patriot Act does when it comes to trampling on our Bill of Rights, and exercising near Martial Law powers!  And for what clear and present danger are we willing to give up our civil rights?  It was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who said, “If you are willing to give up your freedom for a little security, then you don’t deserve either, and you will probably lose both!”

The last serious attack on our country was over ten years ago!  Right now we allow ourselves to be seriously interrogated at airports, scanned like a box of fruit loops at a checkout stand, only with radar detecting devices instead of light emitting diodes, and we are patted down before we are allowed to board a plane, or a train.  While that may still be necessary in order to keep the skies and the rails safe, there are city engineers who are installing cameras in most major cities of the world, just in order to monitor what goes on in the streets!  And they are creating new laws like The National Defense Authorization Act to haul people off to a military jail indefinitely, without due process of law, or the benefit of habeas corpus, and before we are even found guilty of committing a crime! This is nuts!  All of this is being done under the pretense of a “World Wide War on Terror.” Enough is Enough already!

We have more to fear from the overreaching hand of our own Big Government back in Washington than we do from Afghani terrorists eight thousand miles away.  If we would effectively go after the terrorists in their own countries, in other words go after the source of the problem in the countries where it originates, instead of allowing the bad guys to come here, then we wouldn’t even have to think about doing some of the exceptional things we are doing right here in our own country!  The War on Terror which clearly had a legitimate purpose ten years ago, has now become an obvious overreach today!

Federal security forces ‘detain’ prominent opposition legislator…

...on his way to a mass anti-administration rally.

[UPDATE]: Update to this story here. It’s a bit long to just paste onto here, so let me summarize: Sen. Paul is indicating that he was kept in a cubicle for at least an hour and a half and that the TSA turned out not to need him to do a mandatory pat-down after all. To me it sounds like a detention, and I will continue to have a problem with that when it comes to a US Senator.

The Daily Caller reports: the short version is, the TSA in Nashville detained Senator Rand Paul (R, KY) after their body scanner went on the fritz and the Senator refused to submit to a full-body pat-down. Senator Paul was scheduled to speak to March for Life this morning as part of their anniversary rally against Roe v. Wade: it’s now an open question whether he’s going to be able to, now.  As somebody noted to me privately: if this was any other Senator you could reasonably expect grandstanding, but Senator Paul is precisely the sort of person who will stubbornly force the TSA to embarrass itself by detaining a Senator on a matter of personal liberty.  Particularly since Senator Paul’s ongoing opposition to full-body pat-downs is quite well known.

In other words: this is what civil disobedience looks like.

PS: By the way?  As ABC News is actually pointing out, Senators have the following Constitutionally enumerated right: “They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same;”(Article I, Section 6).  Senate’s in session today; so let’s see, once and for all, whether Harry Reid’s a true Senator, or just this administration’s lap dog…

Ask the cupcake lady- an interview with Janet Napolitano

In honor of holiday travels, I am presenting to you the inaugural edition of “Ask the Cupcake Lady,” the only travel advice column featuring Dept. of Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano. It is also the only column that will allow you to pass through airport security with a 3.5 oz container of liquid, so stop using it to line your bird cages.

Our first question comes from a college professor who recently had a run-in with the TSA.

Q. On a recently flight out of Las Vegas a TSA agent confiscated my red velvet cupcake because “its frosting was enough like a gel to violate TSA restrictions on allowing liquids and gels onto flights to prevent them from being used as explosives.” Why?

A. You know what they say, what’s frosted in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Q. No they don’t.

A. Well, maybe it was confiscated because the icing was cream cheese. Me, I’m partial to white chocolate icing on red velvet. Now THAT’S a cupcake that I would let clear security any day of the week and twice on Sundays! Next question.

Q. Ms. Cupcake Lady, I’m an 84 year-old woman who was strip searched by TSA agents when I refused a body scan, though I did volunteer for a pat-down. I have a heart condition and an implanted defibrillator and was scared the machine would cause me problems. Why did they strip search me?

A. Maybe they got a tip that you used C-4 instead of Sea-Bond to secure your dentures.

Q. I don’t wear dentures.

A. That’s irrelevant.

Q. But why did they strip search me?

A. You keep saying strip search…let me ask you this: was there a pole, music or strobe lights? No, then they didn’t strip search you. Instead, they made sure you had not secured any explosive liquids on your person, or that your walker wasn’t hiding a box cutter or brass knuckles.

Q. I didn’t mention I had a walker. How did you know?

A. Next question.

Q. Ms. Cupcake Lady, I am 57 year old lawyer from N.C. who was stopped by a TSA VIPER (“Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response”) team while trying to board an Amtrak train in Charlotte. They used a dog to sniff my trousers for chemical traces of a bomb. Additionally, I was scanned for concealed nuclear materials. Was that really necessary?

A. Sniff your trousers? Who uses the word “trousers” anymore?

Q. You’re avoiding the question.

A. Well, I can tell it wasn’t because of your radioactive personality. You were chosen at random as the TSA tries to boost its non-aviation security presence. Think of it as all the joys of airport security without the pesky plane ride at the end. Ok, last question.

Q. Ms. Cupcake Lady, I am a senior government official. Hypothetically speaking, let’s say I’m a senator from, say, New York. I want to remain anonymous so you can just call me “Chuck.”

A. Thank you for your time, Mr. Schumer.

Q. Um…who?

A. Sorry. Go ahead.

Q. Thank you. Anyway, my office…I mean, “someone’s” office…has gotten several complaints from elderly constituents over the treatment they’ve received at the hands of the TSA. One woman said she was asked to expose her colostomy bag for inspection and another was denied security clearance because her incontinence pad set off the chemical sensors. What do you think we should do about this problem?

A. I don’t see a problem.

Q. Me either, but the public thinks there is. Until we can re-educate them on the definition of freedom, I propose that we create another position within the TSA who will serve as a passenger advocate and can act immediately on customer complaints.

A. Act how?

Q. Well, by doing nothing really. But it sounds reassuring, doesn’t it?

A. Absolutely. And it will help me increase my budget…what Congressman, even a Republican one, will want to deny the elderly their rights?

Q. Exactly.

A. You have my wholehearted support.

Unfortunately, that’s all the space we have for today’s column. Do you have a question for the Cupcake Lady? If so, go to your local airport and attempt to clear security with cream cheese icing. You’ll get her full attention.

Lindsey Graham and Carl Levin NEED TO GO!!! NDAA of 2012

LIBERTY BOUND

http://blog.amnestyusa.org/tag/intelligence-committee/

Lindsey Graham and Carl Levin NEED TO GO!!!  Let’s just get that out in the open. This is the way I feel, so I better tell you now! How long will the majority of Americans continue to sit on their hands and let DC strip us of our rights, liberties and freedoms!

You see.. it is not a Republican/Democrat issue, not a Left/Right issue…. It is a We The People subjected to the whims of an out of control, unbounded, non-accountable Federal Government issue…

A government who accepts no bounds, dispatches thugs to airports to deny The People their rights “guaranteed” by the 4th Amendment. The people are locked up just for mentioning or reciting it. Don’t question what the TSA’s ability or authority to do what it does.:

“We will have you arrested for holding up the line and disrupting operations”

Now we deal with this…

“Senate Votes To Let Military Detain Americans Indefinitely, White House Threatens Veto”

Every day there is a new violation of our rights as a People governed within the confines of the framework outlined in the US Constitution. It is the basis of the Government of the United States of America.  That government doesn’t bother paying attention to it. It formed a LIMITED GOVERNMENT and directs how our country’s government is to behave.

Republican and Democratic  Senators are trumpeting this legislation which contains sections aimed at totally violating the rights of American citizens to face their accusers in a court of law,  a trial,  or even the fundamental right of knowing what you are being charged with. The bill set to be voted upon is the” National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (NDAA)”.

Under the totalitarian sections, authority would be transferred from the DoJ to the DoD.  If enacted, sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA would:

(1)  Explicitly authorize the federal government to indefinitely imprison without charge or trial American citizens and others picked up inside and outside the United States;

(2)  Mandate military detention of some civilians who would otherwise be outside of military control, including civilians picked up within the United States itself; and

(3)  Transfer to the Department of Defense core prosecutorial, investigative, law enforcement, penal, and custodial authority and responsibility now held by the Department of Justice.

Indefinite detention without being formally charged and being  subjected to interrogation by law enforcement agencies, is not something the People of the USA would ever think to be concerned with, but it is a reality. The Senate is in work now to get this bill passed, which would do exactly that; rob Americans of their constitutionally mandated protections.

This is supported by both parties, and thankfully opposed by both parties, as it should be. If there ever was a time for an expression of  Bi-Partisanship, the optimum time would be now as the two entrenched party representatives come together to destroy this “Enabling Act” which is being promoted by the likes of Democrat Levin and Republican Graham.
