To clarify two things from the interview:
- I’m described as a libertarian. That’s not incorrect, but “conservative” is probably more accurate and less confusing. I’m pro-life, pro-traditional-marriage, and reluctantly Republican. Without a doubt, I believe the Republican Party could use more of a libertarian influence, and not less, throughout all levels of the party. Remember Ronald Reagan: ”The heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism.”
- I’m described as a Tea Party “activist.” Not really. I’m quite “pro-Tea Party,” whatever that means, and, as I stated directly above, I think the Republican Party needs more libertarians (and less of whatever we have going, today). But, to be fair to the true Tea Party activists, I merely attended the 2010 event and didn’t do much more.
