How Ann Coulter lost her mojo

Ann Coulter was an interesting individual.

For a long while she stood up for Conservative ideals, especially when those ideals would shock and scare liberals.

She was the fiesty woman we all cheered for fighting for us, while we also said ‘darn that lady is nuts’.

Ann Coulter, if ever rated by liberals, would be declared a -10 for their belief structure and ideals in past years.

There are few in this world liberals hate more than Ann Coulter.

And now Ann Coulter defies logic and supports a liberal. Those who support Mitt Romney may deny this til they are blue in the face, but the Not-Romney’s all feel this way.

Ann Coulter has reduced her potential following to people who believe they are Conservative when in fact they are not.

In short she has completely ruined the only brand she had… herself.

Ann Coulter has done to herself what a decade of Liberal attacks could not. She ruined herself.

Ann Coulter I just have this statement for you. “How will you live without being able to get people to listen to you anymore? Good luck in your retirement from reality.”

It becomes more apparent that the longer you do media, the more liberal you get.

Angry Newt!

Thank goodness for Newt! It literally amazes me how everyone and I mean everyone (yes, even all of them on Fox News) are attacking and criticizing Newt like he is the devil or something. The establishment wants who they want (Romney) and like democrats they will do anything to get their person the nomination. Pretty sad what has become of the GOP.

At first glance I also cringed when I heard Newt’s attacks on Romney and Bain Capital but in his defense Newt has made it VERY clear he is not attacking free enterprise in anyway. When you actually listen to Newt and not just the spin on what he said it makes sense. He is just questioning Mitt’s judgment and decisions not free enterprise or capitalism despite what the media keeps saying he is doing. Also, remember Newt did not start this plus it is better that it all comes out now instead of next fall. At least Romney has a chance to practice his response now because Obama WILL bring it up again.

Again, Newt has made it very clear that this is not an attack on capitalism but no one seems to be listening. He says it is about questioning Romney’s tactics in some situations. Not all, but some. Of course, no one on Fox or anywhere else will make clear what Newt is saying. Instead they just bash him and call him names like ‘Angry Newt’, ‘Road Rage Newt’, ‘Crazy Newt’, etc. I watch Newt all the time and I never see ‘Angry Newt’. I only see someone who is serious and makes solid points in a professional “matter of fact” manner. I like that! I want that in a President!

I get so sick of seeing Romney constantly smiling like a fake beauty pageant contestant and standing there with his hands in his pockets. I was in the Navy and standing around with your hands in your pocket was not a professional thing to do and not allowed.

Fox has really been disappointing me lately. It seemed to start back when Glenn Beck left the network. Does anyone else see them trying hard to be much more “middle of the road?” It is like listening to Michael Smerconish the way Fox is now. As if being a ‘moderate’ is the answer. Republicans falling for the trap of being a ‘moderate’ is why the country is in the shape it is now! Bi-partisanship and the phony notion that being a moderate is a ‘good’ thing are bringing our country to its knees and must stop. We need strong conservative leaders or there is no chance of fixing things.

The way Fox is attacking Newt makes me hope he succeeds if only to tic them off even more. Newt is not my first choice but I defend him on this one. I have a long history of being in business myself. I have dealt with venture capitalists before and while they do some good they can also do some bad. It is not like a regular business. Newt wants an explanation of Bain’s tactics in certain situations. This is a legitimate challenge! Mitt has hammered Newt over ‘certain’ situations in his past. This is no different.

People who are criticizing Newt so much saying he is attacking free enterprise are wrong. He is not. I love business and free enterprise more than anyone and will defend it to my death but I also realize that sometimes people do things in business that are wrong. Newt is asking the question of Romney to explain something in his past just like Romney challenged Newt on his past. Romney brought this up by bragging about how many jobs Bain Capital had created. If he had never brought that up this would be probably not be a topic of conversation right now.

Sure, Mitt had every right to do what he did. No one is saying he did anything illegal. I have no problem with what he did but the greater point here is that his VC background makes him the PERFECT opponent for Obama.

The Democrats have long been suggesting it will be Mitt Romney they will face. As Rush told us before, they always tell us who they want to go against and who they don’t. They have been telling us they want Romney for a long time. Now why in the world would they want Romney as the Republican nominee? The Occupy Wall Street movement did not just come about for any reason. It was not simply a spontaneous outcry. There is a reason it happened and helping Obama defeat Mitt Romney is one of them.

I can see it vividly…20,000 Occupy protesters camping out and rioting at the Republican convention this summer…Protesting Mitt Romney and his Wall Street pedigree. Is that what Republicans really want? That is coming if we nominate Mitt Romney. I would rather take my chances with Perry or Newt. I think their ‘issues’ are less damming than Mitt’s. Also, there is no doubt they are much more conservative than Romney.

I just don’t agree with the narrative that Romney has the best chance to beat Obama. CNN, MSNBC and the Republican establishment telling me that everyday confirms my belief it is not true.

Inside the Perry Strike Force

Just wanted to give RedStaters a brief report from the Perry Strike Force. As a point of reference, I volunteered in a 72 hour campaign  for President Bush in Florida in 2004. In other words, this isn’t my first rodeo in this kind of effort.

Volunteers have been pouring in over the last few days. I arrived in Des Moines Friday night, and following a training session, I  immediately began phone banking, going door to door and sign waving.

Fresh Perry volunteers arrive earlier this AM

I believe the reports of actual strike force participants are probably low. There are multiple Strike Force rally points (hubs) across Iowa, and there are several hundred volunteers at my hub alone in West Des Moines.

Morale is very high. The reports coming in are very positive in re to Gov. Perry’s bus tour. Perry offered an oustanding performance on Fox News Sunday yesterday also. Every venue is packed and the vast majority of attendees leaving Perry rally’s are firmly on board for the Governor which is in contrast to reports on Romney and Gingrich events. Many participants are still leaving these events for Mitt & Newt undecided. Perry staffers have been able to reassign volunteers to more door-to-door, phone banking, etc. due to the large number of local Perry supporters/volunteers/attendees flooding to each of his bus stop events.

One of the most underreported aspects of the Strike Force is the diversity of volunteers. For example, one day I went door to door w/ a Jewish guy from Florida who’s an IT guru back home. Another day I went door-to-door w/ a college student from Rhode Island who studies in NYC. Today I went sign-waving w/ a guy from Oklahoma who took vacation time to fly up here. Make no mistakes, the Texans are here, and there are a lot of them testifying on behalf of Gov. Perry’s leadership back home. But volunteers from 31 other states are here also, and they are making their presence felt.

The Perry ground game in Iowa is for real, and I think this could easily land him in the top 3 or better when all the dust settles on Caucus night. Many Iowans contacted via phone and door-to-door admit they are still undecided. So we’ve been able to sell a lot of them on Gov. Perry’s strong leadership and record in Texas.

One other advantage of the Strike Force is the sheer organization of the staff. I was a foot solider for Bush in 2004. Bush had the power, organization and war chest of the incumbency at his disposal. The campaign’s organization, unsurprisingly, was exceptional. So I’ve pleasantly surprised how organized Perry’s campaign has been here in Iowa despite not having the advantages Bush enjoyed.

One final thought: I think obsession with the latest polling numbers are overemphasized. The Caucus procedure is vastly different than a primary. Consequently, I think the polling would be much more accurate if Iowa were a primary state. But it’s not. As a result, organization is going to be critical and worth several percentage points in my view. People supporting Newt, Mitt and Santorum on the phone aren’t necessarily going to show up for the Caucus. There is no absentee or early voting in Iowa. Turnout is key. I really have not seen or read any reports of any significant ground effort on behalf of Bachmann, Newt, Santorum, Mitt and he who shall not be named. I may be too insulated, but I honestly don’t think they have anything close to the level of enthusiasm, volunteers and organization that Perry enjoys. Responses going to door-to-door, phone banking and sign waving have generally been positive and encouraging, as most Republicans are generally nice, courteous and open-minded.

The Perry campaign is still recruiting volunteers and needs your help. Join the Perry Strike Force from wherever you are by emailing: phonebank@rickperry.org

Fox News and Now …?

Politics can sometimes be amusing.

In an attempt to lighten it up for a bit, I wanted to highlight an oops found over at a major news outlet.

Over the years I have marveled at how the super fast moving news network Fox News could have so many misspellings, wrong story and title mismatches, so imagine my major yawn when I found this picture. (H/T Right Scoop)

Of course, there is a certain amount of hilarity that I’ll bet the Romney campaign did not appreciate. Especially given that he is only holding 17.2%. Obama staffers are undoubtedly incensed as well, as they fully expect Obama to garner 21% of the vote in 2012, and would hate to imply otherwise.

Fox apologized, with Megyn Kelly explaining the mistake. Of course Romney is not Obama. Try as he might, it takes a Chicago land machination and about a dozen missing years for THAT to happen.

Curiously, another network had a similar issue with the polling results. Frylock, Meatwad, and Shake could not be reached for comment.

Three cheers for journalistic integrity.

Washington Post’s Greg Sargent Demands Unions Get Violent. Union Goons Attack Fox Reporter.

The Washington Post’s leftwing mouthpiece, Greg Sargent, who they ostensibly pay to be an objective reporter is on twitter demanding that unions in Wisconsin get violent to get their way.

In what we can presume is unrelated to Greg Sargent’s call, a Fox News reporter was attacked by union thugs in Wisconsin.

Once I pointed out on Twitter that Sargent was calling for unions to get violent in Wisconsin, Sargent declared he was not promoting violence despite actually writing on twitter:

Dear union thugs: Will you please get violent in Wisconsin already? Pretty please?

Note also that Sargent is calling union members “thugs”.
