Congressional candidate Ozzie deFaria is beginning to melt under the political spotlight, as he once again is displaying a lack judgment and temperament that be able to sustain the rigors of a congressional campaign.   The Shark Tank recently questioned deFaria’s campaign advertisements as well as certain aspects of his background, a scrutiny which all congressional candidates should expect.  But deFaria’s knee-jerk reaction to our story is unfortunately revealing- rather than deal directly with our documented and legitimate criticisms, he chose to malign your humble correspondent and the Shark Tank.  This response shows that deFaria is not only thin skinned, he wound up embarrassing the Republican Party and his campaign.

Our report cited the following facts:

• deFaria’s posting of DNC Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz wearing a dog collar
• deFaria stating that Wasserman Schultz needed to be “sent back to the pound.”
• deFaria untruthfully stating the reason why Congresswoman Allen West tore into Wasserman Schultz in an email last year
• deFaria’s admittance that he used a phony ‘Tea Party’ organization to promote his campaign
• a list of public record court cases in which deFaria is named as a Defendant or a respondent

deFaria took issue with our criticism that asserts that his own words and deeds are questionable and will diminish his campaign- did he not take the time to think that his line of attack against Wasserman Schultz not only isn’t very original, but that it could be potentially used against him if he were the Republican nominee?  (Shark Tank- original deFaria story here)

deFaria is actively promoting this ‘Doggie Debbie’ website and told the attendees of the recent SRLC convention in Charleston that ‘DWS’ “needed to be sent back to the pound.”continuing with the “Debbie is a Doggie” motif.  We simply questioned if deFaria’s repeated caricature of Debbie as a dog with an aggressive looking dog collar is really a smart way to criticize her and broadly appeal to the masses of people in her congressional district.

deFaria’s feeble response to our criticism was made in an obscure Broward website that has a history of running cover for the embattled Broward Republican Executive Committee (BREC), and the site that has done all but endorsed deFaria.  It’s also the same website that Redstate’s Erick Erickson smacked down last year for its lack of journalistic integrity and hack reportage.

What’s most humorous about this sad saga is that deFaria’s official statement claims that he was the victim of a “vicious attack” that he posted on his campaign website:

We’ll never know who paid for his most recent attack on Ozzie, but it’s not a coincidence that Debbie Wasserman Schultz said ‘Ozzie will get what’s coming to him’ and then a local paid political blogger launched a full front assault on Ozzie’s character.  The charges made on the hit piece are either false or extremely misleading.

The Shark Tank blog has lost all credibility as a legitimate source of information.  As explicitly outlined on the website truthaboutjaviermanjarres.com, the blog’s owner, Javier Manjarres, is nothing more than a political bounty hunter who consistently and regularly attacks the conservative opponents of the people who pay to advertise on his website.- Ozzie deFaria

That’s right dear readers, deFaria thinks that the Shark Tank’s criticism of his campaign tactics comes at the behest of and is paid for by none other than DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  In addition to this LOL implication, deFaria also cites an anonymous and libelous website which targets yours truly- a site which was authored by the same Charlie Crist-supporting establishment Republicans in Broward County who are his chief supporters.  Beginning to see the bigger picture here?

Unfortunately, knee-jerk reactions like deFaria’s tend to be devoid of rationality, and his response isn’t one that will reassure voters about his judgement.  How can deFaria call our “charges” (his characterization) “false or extremely misleading,” when we’re simply calling attention to and questioning his own campaign advertisements and statements?  Whether it is what he said to the SRLC (on video below), his depiction of Debbie with a dog collar around her neck, or his public records, did the Shark Tank fabricate or distort any of these?  You be the judge.

deFaria tweeted that he has “nothing to hide,” yet he’d rather disparage his critics rather than provide a coherent response to his supporters that is grounded in fact.  Instead of showing the requisite character, discipline, and leadership with his response, deFaria decided to attack the messenger rather than intelligently respond to the message.   What’s to hide, right?

Businessman Ozzie deFaria has garnered ‘On the Radar’ status with the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), a significant boost to his campaign  for the Republican nomination in Congressional District 20.  When the congressional redistricting is completed, most of what now comprises the 20th congressional district will become the 23rd congressional district.

While 2010 nominee Karen Harrington enjoys significant name recognition and strong grassroots support, deFaria could pose a real threat because of his ability to self-fund, and his new found support from the Republican establishment in Washington, D.C. will likely assist his fundraising.

But while deFaria has proven that he is a successful businessman and is showing a glimmer of a fundraising prowess, he’s also at times shown that he lacks the discipline and judgment needed to serve in Congress.

Case in point- deFaria inexplicably posted an image on his website in which he super-imposed a dog collar around the neck of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  It’s understood that political candidates use gimmicks and stunts to bring attention to their campaign, but the denigrating depiction of Wasserman Schultz as a dog isn’t very smart, and it’s likely that most women won’t be amused.

deFaria’s  move is reminiscent of an incident back in 2009 in which another Republican congressional candidate who was looking for attention scribbled the initials ‘DWS’ on a gun range target and then proceeded to fire at it- right in the presence of the assembled media.  The actions of that night gave the GOP a black eye, and deFaria’s actions are likely to have a similar effect.

When you couple this substantial gaffe with a statement he made at the recent Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) in South Carolina where he stated, “we must send her back to the pound,” it’s clear that deFaria is fixated on the ‘Debbie is a Doggie’ motif, but is that really an intelligent way to critique her?

deFaria hypocritically calls Wasserman Schultz a sexist on the website (see picture), and fails to understand that his depiction of ‘DWS’ can be interpreted as exactly that, sexist.

Unfortunately for deFaria, it doesn’t end there. In the same video clip (below), just before he states that ‘DWS’ must be sent back to the pound, deFaria, reading from a scripted speech, untruthfully states why Congressman Allen West called Wasserman Schultz ‘vile and despicable.’ deFaria states that West called her ‘vile’ specifically because Wasserman Schultz blamed the Tea Party for the shooting of Congresswoman Giffords.

This type of shameless pandering is nothing more than a stunt to create the perception that deFaria is aligned with West.

West  called out Wasserman Schultz after she spoke out against him on the House floor inWashington,D.C.

Late last year, the Shark Tank called out deFaria for using a phony Tea Party organization to solicit funds from activists.  The organization in question, National Tea Party Alert.com depicted him as a ‘Tea Party’ candidate. deFaria told me that it was only a mail program he purchased, in essence confirming that this National Tea Party.com was not really a tea party organization but a for-profit business that had nothing to do with the Tea Party movement. When you run Congress or any office for that matter, most everything is going to be on the table.  deFaria, like many other Americans, has had run-ins with the law and has been party to several litigations that have been made public- some good, some bad. Were deFaria to win the Republican nomination to take on Wasserman Schultz, you better believe that the Democrats will use his unfortunate lack of judgment to label all Republicans as extreme sexists- and deFaria would be the proverbial Republican punching bag .

Following a week of musical chairs where Congressman Allen West announced his intent to move north into a proposed 18th Congressional District while former House Majority Leader Adam Hasner departed the Republican primary race to unseat Democratic incumbent Senator Bill Nelson and run for West’s vacant Congressional seat, yet another race faces a challenge.

Former presidential appointee and elections attorney, Gineen Bresso, is set to announce Monday her candidacy to represent Florida’s 20th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Bresso, 39, is challenging Democratic National Committee Chair and incumbent Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

“I am prepared to work to restore fiscal responsibility, remove barriers to economic growth, and take the voice of the people to Washington D.C,” stated Bresso.  “Currently, the nation is facing significant troubles with a debt in excess of $15 Trillion and a staggering $1.1 Trillion deficit.”

Bresso was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S Senate on October 2, 2008 to serve on the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). 

In 2009, Bresso served as Chair of the EAC.  In contemplation of a Congressional run, she resigned recently after asking President Barack Obama to withdraw his nomination of her to serve a second term.

Prior to her appointment to the EAC, Bresso served as the Director of Legislative Operations and Counsel for the Committee on House Administration in the U.S Congress. Previously, she served as a policy advisor to former Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., and worked as an attorney-advisor for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where she reviewed and processed applications for federal trademark registration.

Bresso has also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Arrie W. Davis, in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

Bresso received her Juris Doctor from Western New England College School of Law in 1999 and her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1995.

“Even with a late entry into an already crowded field, thanks to her vast governmental experience, Bresso immediately becomes a top contender,” stated Tom Lauder of RedBroward.  “Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has never faced such an impressive group of GOP candidates.  She’s in for the political fight of her life.”

Bresso faces Ozzie Defaria, Juan Eliel Garcia, Joe Goldner, Karen Harrington, and Joe Kaufman in an August Republican primary. 

“It’s time to govern responsibly and lead the nation to a more prosperous future,” concluded Bresso.

We need to make sure we tone the rhetoric down – now Americans would agree to that statement as we enter the Presidential Election for 2012. But, there’s a slight problem here – the messenger that made this statement is Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Debbie as we all know is the “Mouth” for the Democrats; she’s the DNC chairman. She’s more like a “rambler” – when asked a legitimate question she acts dumber than a door knob and just starts rambling in a nonsensical jumble of words.

How sad that on the anniversary of the terrible atrocity in Tucson, Debbie mentions Gabby Giffords whom all Americans love and she insinuates that the Tea Parties are in some way to blame for the tragedy. This shows the environment in the Democratic camp; they’re not just struggling, they’re desperate. This speech by Wasserman accentuates the problems in the Democrat base.

They have a fallen leader, who many Democrats want to replace with Hillary Clinton. Many of them are worrying about job security. Debbie’s speech at the Politics and Eggs Forum is indicative of a chair person who’s lost her chair.

Out of one side of her mouth she’s saying tone down the rhetoric and out of the other side she’s blaming the Tea Parties for the act of an insane man too sick to stand trial for the massacre in Tucson, Az. Speaking of sick, how sad that Debbie used Gabby Giffords to exploit her political rhetoric. She used a young woman who has had the fight of her life as an excuse to spew venomous rhetoric about the tea parties.

One would think she owes Gabby Gifford and the tea parties an apology on National TV – but the “mouth” has taken center stage and refuses to apologize to Gabby or the tea parties.

Politifact in Florida shows the top ten fact-checks of 2011 and Schultz made the top ten, which is nothing to brag about – once again she’s been caught red handed.

During an interview with Wolf Blitzer she pretty much told him he was stupid and didn’t know what he was talking about, here’s what Wolf said, “The wealthiest Americans, they pay the most in taxes already — 50 percent of Americans don’t even pay any federal income tax.”

Shultz said, “That’s actually not true.” Politfact shows her statement false and Wolf’s statement was 100% correct about the wealthiest Americans paying the most in taxes and that 50 per cent of Americans don’t pay taxes.

Here’s a taste of what we can expect from Democrats in the remainder of the 2012 Presidential Campaign.

Politicfact has compiled some blatant misstatements by the “Mouth” (Debbie Wasserman Schultz).

December 2011 – Debbie denied that unemployment went up under Obama. Unemployment was a tad over 7% December 2008 and the official U.S. unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent in April, 2011. If those who have quit looking for jobs were counted, unemployment would be well over 15%.

Debbie lied about Paul Ryan’s Medicare restructuring saying it would end Medicare as we know it trying to scare senior citizens. Debbie’s pretend pitty party for seniors was a lie! Remember Schultz voted to cut Medicare and Medicaid when she voted for Obamacare. Debbie, Pelosi, Reid and Obama actually have dangled “Granny” over the cliff and they have no intention of rescuing her.

Debbie called the GOP agenda “anti-women” and “a war on women,” she is angry because many think Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the Government. Planned Parenthood should either fly on its own or close its doors – they claiming huge profits, so taxpayer’s should not be supporting them.

Here’s what Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, said: “The truly ‘anti-woman’ organization here is Planned Parenthood and the party that continues to defend its taxpayer funding when it has raked in more than $300 million in profits over the past four years. Fifty-four percent of Americans don’t want to be coerced into contributing to an organization they don’t believe in just by paying their taxes—nor should they be.”

Why the Democrats have allowed Debbie Wasserman Schultz to hold the DNC chair position remains a mystery. Even some Democrats from Florida asked her to step down or step up. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is another Joe Biden with big hair and a dress. Like Biden she’s so gaffe – prone that most news media believe she’s good for a few laughs because she’s just plain clueless.

But then again, how does one defend a Commander in Chief who has the worst track record in of our Nation’s history?

John Stewart’s Daily Show recently ran a segment that featured Nezar Hamze, the Florida Director of CAIR, Americans Against Hate Founder and congressional candidate Joe Kaufman along with the laughable Broward County Republicans (BREC), and it’s a must watch video that will likely prompt a double facepalm out of embarrassment for those who were featured.

This sorry saga began when Hamze approached Broward GOP Chairman Richard ‘Dick’ DeNapoli and told him of his intentions to become a BREC member and possibly start his own Muslim Republican club.  DeNapoli avoided answering Hamze request directly and scurried to tell Joe Kaufman about Hamze’s intentions.  Soon after, Kaufman attended the Fort Lauderdale Tea Party meeting and announced Hamze’s intentions to the group, denounced his actions, and asked everyone to stand against Hamze’s application.

The Shark Tank’s reporting of Hamze’s intentions to join the local GOP prompted national media outlets to pick up this breaking story.  Many national authorities on the subject of Islam including Pamela Gellar praised the Shark Tank for breaking the story that the BREC was trying to sweep under the rug.

Enter Jon Stewart, aka Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.  Stewart decided to pick up the story and satirize the incident with one of his typical “reports” that makes all of those involved look like fools to his “enlightened” audience. It was not long ago that Stewart recently sent “reporters” to set up Governor Rick Scott and Attorney General Pam Bondi- both were wise enough as to avoid and ignore Jon Stewart.

Stewart sent his correspondent down to Florida to interview both Hamze and Kaufman-it was obvious that Kaufman saw this as an opportunity to gain a little ‘earned media’ for his fledgling congressional campaign, but his acceptance clearly shows that he lacks the judgement and the common sense to consider the possibility that he would ultimately serve as the butt of the Stewart’s joke- and he was.

What type of congressional candidate would put themselves in such a compromising position on a TV show like The Daily Show and put their candidacy at risk?  One that’s looking for some easy PR but doesn’t consider the consequences, which is exactly what Joe Kaufman did.  What’s worse, Kaufman could not even define what the word “against” means, and Stewart’s producers were quick to cue the laugh track.

In addition, Kaufman praised DeNapoli’s actions in the matter when in fact they were anything but praiseworthy.   The BREC is currently under criminal investigation for filing a false police report, and it has a long track record of unscrupulous and questionable actions.

I don’t exactly have the dictionary in front of me to able to figure that out- Joe Kaufman, when asked for the definition of the word “against.”

Kaufman recently insulted one of South Florida’s most influential rabbis after he learned that this rabbi was supporting his opponent, Karen Harrington in the Republican primary.  Kaufman scolded the Rabbi by telling him that “You should be ashamed of yourself for supporting her.”  Offended, the rabbi proceeded to tell Kaufman that it was he that was an “embarrassment” and suggested that he drop out of the race.

Stewart’s video makes all involved look foolish, and Kaufman’s participation in it makes it crystal clear that he simply lacks the judgement for Congress or any other legislative body.   Watch the video, be prepared to cringe.

I guess this is what you get when your president is “Enfant Terrible.”

I blame President Obama for the absolutely vicious attacks we are seeing upon the Tea Party and conservative independents.  It shows just how hysterical the ruling class elites have become that they are going full barrel at us for demanding our government cut its out-of-control spending.  It’s just shocking to most of us that this level of vitriol would be leveled at people simply saying cut spending.  It’s not like we’re demanding something outlandish.  We are just saying spending has to be cut.  We are running 1.5 trillion dollar deficits and the media seems to believe this is just the normal course of business.

From Thomas “Alarmist” Friedman, he writes, “If sane Republicans do not stand up to this Hezbollah faction in their midst, the Tea Party will take the G.O.P. on a suicide mission.”  ‘Can’t we do this right?’ July 26, 2011, New York Times.  Huh?  So, are we to believe that cutting spending is now akin to being Hezbollah, a group that shoots rockets into Israel and demands genocide of the Jewish people?  Besides, why should Friedman care if the Tea Party takes ‘the GOP on a suicide mission?’   Friedman cannot stand Republicans just because they’re Republicans.  He’s nothing more than a hack Democratic Party shill without the brains or sense to know if you create too much dependent government spending, the productive sector will shrink, as we are witnessing with the .4% growth in the 1st quarter of this year.  We are watching a real time, real life demonstration of how huge government and huge regulation literally starve the economy to death.  It’s happening before our very eyes.

But we are extreme terrorists, oh and Sarah Palin because of those bullseyes which reached inside Jared Loughner’s brain and forced him to shot people.

In fact, the DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was quoted in Politico as saying;

MSNBC – is tossing daggers at Colonel Allen West saying he sent a mean spirited email to Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Debbie is the person on Face the Nation, May 9th, 2011 that lied, not just once but many, many times about Paul Ryan’s Medicare Plan. In fact there were so many lies during this interview, she began to look like pinocchio’s sister.

Debbie’s mode of operation is scare tactics or racial slurs laced with lies.
Debbie, waited until Colonel West had left the floor and then she pounced on Allen West because he supported “Cut, Cap and Balance,” pretty much accusing him of picking on grampy and grammy (the seniors.) Debbie is the same person, who ordered a protest at Allen West’s campaign headquarters last October of 2010.

With a mouthpiece like Debbie, it’s not surprising that Democrats are dropping off like flies. Actually, she’s afraid of Allen and like he said, “If you have something to say to me, say it to my face.”

Schultz – can’t keep her foot out of her mouth; DEMS should consider a muzzle for this person; she’s not a statistician, nor a politician, she’s a disgrace to all professional women.

Politifact called her out on another falsehood (better known as a blatant lie.) Debbie Wasserman Schultz: By advocating new requirements for voters to show ID cards at the polls, Republicans “want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws.” — False

CNN – Jared Bernstein hysterically is crying wolf about the Cut, Cap and Balance Act; he’s in denial and just plain confused. Our Nation is broke, the Democratic spending addicts must be stopped and we must have a balanced budget. As usual, Jared doesn’t understand the basics of math! Debt ceiling = inflation = higher food and fuel costs + increase in consumer costs = a weakening economy.

Jared just can’t bring himself to say these words, “our National Deficit has jumped 4.7 trillion in the past 2 ½ years and our Government has over extended themselves.” “We’re in deep economic trouble.”

Media Matters – is distorting President Clinton’s words, in a nutshell he’s wrapped up the “debt ceiling” problem. He said, “Lifting the debt ceiling is necessary to pay for appropriations already made.” In layman’s terms, President Clinton is saying the Obama Administration spent over 4 trillion dollars of taxpayer’s money – now there’s no choice but to raise the debt ceiling.

Notice, that Media Matters can’t embarrass themselves by saying, Obama stole 4.7 trillion dollars from Americans and now he wants taxpayers to pick up the pieces. One man (OBAMA), almost single handedly placed our Nation in harm’s way thru “redistribution.” Media Matters, here’s the problem with Obama’s sick ideology.

The poor got poorer, the middle class lost homes, jobs and hope and all businesses are afraid to do business as usual, because like Steve Wynn said they’re petrified of Obama and his gang.

NYT – is flaunting the Gang of Six Deficit Reduction, but refuses to connect the dots. It’s basically another band aid, although many are oohing and awing over it. Why aren’t they discussing the money owed to taxpayers from the stimulus bailout to Fannie, Freddie, AIG and the corrupt lending institutions? Taxpayers have a right to demand all of our stimulus money back immediately! The Obama Administration owes us trillions of dollars!

Let Obama and the Democrats take money owed to us out of their pockets, their retirement or demand that all of the beneficiaries of our stimulus money pay us back immediately. Why don’t the DEMS do the right thing for America and repeal the Obamacare albatross? Obama and Democrats always end up putting the monkey on our back; we aren’t their employees.

If the debt ceiling is raised and it will happen, inflation which is already knocking at our doors with higher consumer costs including food and fuel will accelerate. Why can’t NYT just once get their story straight?
