Moe, I love the millibears. I'd been waiting for their return.

Which brings to mind the other reference I think of these days regarding Gore:

Posted at 5:55pm on May 6, 2008 So tell me, Al, what caused all those *other* storms in Earth's history?

Once you get past the self-loathing of knowing that you built your empire on ambulance chasing and falsehoods, Gore's position isn't such a bad place to be in

By Jeff Emanuel

Is there a better example of a modern ambulance chaser-writ-large than former Veep and Nobel Prize winner Albert Gore? It's quite a testament to the man's less-than-obvious flair for the dramatic and hyperbolic that he has been able to far surpass the "cottage industry" stage and create an actual worldwide movement out of his alarmist, unprovable warnings and admonitions about the invisible, silent threat that is ManBearPig Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW).

It's so easy, too. All Gore has to do is wait for any day that feels a little warm or a little cool, or a day when the sun shines or is obscured by clouds, or when there is hail or sleet, and say that it was caused by his personal bugaboo, AGW. His *real* money is made, though, when a storm comes.

That's right, a *storm.* Just like Earth has had for, oh, the entirety of its existence. Remember thunderstorms, tornadoes, cyclones? Thought so -- because they happened when you were growing up, just like they did when your parents were growing up, just like they did in the days before the internal combustion engine (called the "greatest threat facing our planet" by Gore in his 1980 book Earth in the Balance).

Posted at 1:08pm on Feb. 28, 2008 Saint Gore and what might have been

By Kevin Holtsberry

Is anyone else sick and tired of the way liberals blame everything on Bush? The way the mere election of Al Gore would have changed the world to its core?

In Tuesday's debate Hillary dodged a question about her ridiculous promises of millions of new jobs by proclaiming that they would have materialized had Gore been elected.

Now comes Margaret Carlson, in a column on Hillary, making the same old argument:

Al Gore was as awkward and stiff as they come. Yet had he been elected, we wouldn't have become the first Christians to invade a Muslim country since the Crusades, have oil over $100 a barrel or be waiting for more studies to see if greenhouse gases are melting the polar ice cap.

See how easy things could have been? If the Supreme Court hadn't stolen the election all of our problems would have been solved by the all powerful Gorical! No problems in Iraq, no high energy prices, and no global warming.

Posted at 10:11pm on Jan. 22, 2008 AGW Causes More, or Fewer, Hurricanes

By Vladimir

I'm told that in An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore boldly predicted that increased warming will cause devastating hurricanes that will plague Atlantic and Gulf coastal regions. The International Panel on Climate Change concurs: they say it is “ 'more likely than not,' manmade global warming has already increased the frequency of the most intense storms."

Or not.

Posted at 9:37am on Dec. 21, 2007 Debunking The Man-Made Global Warming "Consensus"

By California Yankee

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee (minority report), debunks the man-made global warming "consensus" mantra. The report found more than 400 prominent scientists, including several former members of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, disputed man-made global warming claims in 2007:

Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.

[. . .]

This blockbuster Senate report lists the scientists by name, country of residence, and academic/institutional affiliation. It also features their own words, biographies, and weblinks to their peer reviewed studies and original source materials as gathered from public statements, various news outlets, and websites in 2007. This new "consensus busters" report is poised to redefine the debate.

Randall Hoven makes the point that the United States is accomplishing a lot more to reduce carbon dioxide emissions due to consumption of fossil fuels than the mainstream media or the rest of the world would have you believe. Read on.

Posted at 1:24pm on Dec. 13, 2007 Bush Blew Up Bali Climate Conference

So Sayeth the Goracle

By Mark I

"Environmental Champion and Nobel Laureate" Al Gore, as he was described on NPR News this morning flew from Oslo Norway (no doubt commercial), where he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, to Bali, Indonesia for an address to the U.N. climate change conference being held there. Gore’s speech likely raised sea levels by an inch or two for all the hot air he emitted.

The Green Goracle™, never one to miss a chance to blame the United States in general and George Bush in particular for just about anything, told the delegates that the U.S. was “principally responsible for obstructing progress here in Bali.” Gore might have done better to look toward his friends in the European Union and the global environmental movement when assigning blame. The United States at least wants to talk about real emissions reduction goals, while the rest of the world is paying lip service to standards they are not meeting.

UPDATE: The White House responds to Gore's Comments below the fold.

Posted at 10:25pm on Nov. 14, 2007 The lucrative future of venture capitalist Al Gore ($$$$$)

Despite new job, I think he might run.

By Mark Kilmer

From the Los Angeles Times' "Top of the Ticket" blog, we learn the following about Al Gore's plans for the future:

It seems Gore has taken a job in industry promoting a whole new string of coal-fired electrical-generating plants throughout the Ohio Valley. They wanted someone with good Washington connections and some environmental credentials to make the case for acid rain on "Larry King Live" and elsewhere.

Does he need the money from this possibly lucrative gig? Evidently not.

Gore says he will donate his salary to promote national energy independence to the APSNWP, the Alliance to Promote Stripmining [sic] in National Wildlife Preserves.

Right. Believe none of the above about Al Gore. Newspaper blogger Andrew Malcolm admits that he is "just kidding."

So how is Al Gore really doing?
