The NAACP vs. Black Americans

The NAACP has made it official: The Tea Party is racist. The attacks are driven by nothing but fear – the Democrats are terrified of the results of the November elections, and are in a visible tizzy. Black voters aren’t nearly as revved up without Barack Obama on the ballot, and stirring up racial tensions turns out Black voters, which helps Democrats. I reckon they figure that if they keep pounding this home, eventually it’ll stick – and Lord knows they’ve saturated the media with the meme.

Quick recap of what we’re dealing with on a media level now:

What the NAACP is doing is inciting racial tension, and it is not an accident. Anyone who is a part of this conservative groundswell can tell you that there is emphatically not a racial element behind the movement. However, since they thrive on racial tensions, this is their comfort zone. How better to destroy the largest threat to their vision of liberal utopia? What they fail to acknowledge is that they are also diminishing the real threats to racial equality in America by spending their time destroying those that aren’t truly racist.

Taking a quick look at the demographic breakdown of the United State explains a lot of the absence of color – simply put, 75% of the US population is still white, no matter how much the Left likes to pretend that it isn’t. A politically correct, racially equal group in a spontaneous groundswell of millions of Americans is just not possible… we’re certainly not bussing people in for racial diversity.

I have been to Tea Parties all over the country, speaking and helping coordinate them for over a year now, most effectively through FreedomWorks. You’d be hard pressed to find a monochromatic speaker lineup at any of these events, and the Black and Hispanic speakers at these events are never received with any hostility at all. I asked Herman Cain that specific question during an interview when I caught up with him in New Orleans – click to link to watch the video.

The true racism regarding the Tea Party movement comes from the outside. Black conservatives are marginalized, similar to the way the Left marginalizes conservative women – somehow, if you are a Black man or woman that adheres to conservative principles, you are a race traitor. A conservative women is a gender traitor – less of a woman in the eyes of a liberal, and therefore not included in their protected minority.

Since the glory days of the Civil Rights movement in the 60′s, the Democrats have laid claim to the Black vote. They have made it their mission to, in effect, own the minority vote, and they have done it well. The result has been a massive mount of entitlement spending, which is expanding every time we turn around. The current administration knows that they are in trouble with the constituencies they’ve purchased – so they’re upping the ante, and this has resulted in things like, oh, I don’t know – massive health care entitlements.

This has got to stop. For racism to be effectively addressed in our country, it needs to be called out when it’s relevant. Making false accusations for political purposes undermines the headway that the Civil Rights Act has made over the past 56 years, and is not furthering the equality of Black Americans.

I see little sign that an invitation to be simply American interests most American blacks, who seem to see the invitation as an invitation to become honorary whites.

Too many blacks who talk like Jerry Falwell vote like Barney Frank for me to believe that the voting patterns of black America might change. Why does “pitbull” believe otherwise, may I ask?

From 10/90 in typical elections, there is nowhere to go but up.

Do you think black small business owners are going to be thankful for ZeroCare?

It might not sound like much, but even a slide to 20/80 on 12% of the US population represents a net gain of 2% of the total US population (1% gain for the good guys from a 1% loss for the Donks).

Precisely how long it takes for the most directly impacted blacks to grow weary of the drags on their lives, I don’t know.

They’re desperately clinging to anything that will discredit the movement. It’s completely obvious and, frankly, any thinking person will see right through it.

I was at Jimmy Buffett’s gulf coast concert of 30k+ people, almost entirely a crowd of white (well, suntanned) folks – is anyone going to decry Jimmy Buffett or beach tourism organizations as racist? It would be just as ridiculous.

What would they call us if Obama wasn't black?

Let’s say Hillary created similar agenda’s and led this same shameful 111th congress and they did the same things we are pushing back against?

Jimmy Buffett can’t be racist… he’s just wasting away in Margaritaville, searching for his lost shaker of salt. Dude doesn’t have the TIME to be racist!

For every black McCain voter there were 60 whites

6eorge Jetson (Diary) Thursday, July 15th at 12:17AM EST (link)

Any Statist that sees a similar ratio in the Tea Parties & cries “racism” is either disingenuous or stupid.

Leaving the McCain RINO issue aside ( which has no relevance to these ballpark), out of every 1,000 2008 Presidential election voters

*120 were black
*700 were white

Of the 120, 6 voted Republican
Of the 700, 350 voted Republican

Given that the stated values of the Republican party are in alignment with the Tea Party, while the stated & actual values of the Democratic party are opposed to the Tea Party, a prediction of the Tea Party composition based on the 2008 election would be ~60 whites for every one black.

I can’t forget her saying the white man was preparing for a “Race War” last year because many of us where “stocking up” on ammo and guns b/c Obama and his cohorts are inherently anti-gun.

The NAACP is fraudulent.

indyjohn Wednesday, July 14th at 1:22PM EST (link)

It not longer is an apostle for black prosperity and social equality. It does not want ‘colored people’ to advance. It is now nothing more than a debased, grovelling servant of the America-hatng Left. It wishes ‘colored people’, to the greatest extent possible, to be dependents residing on the Progressive Plantation.
The NAACP is a dinosaur. The time has come for its extinction.

But what is liberty without wisdom, and without virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils; for it is folly, vice, and madness, without tuition or restraint.

Will this be the moment that the GOP finally clues in about the NAACP

constitutionalconservative (Diary) Wednesday, July 14th at 4:14PM EST (link)

I was encouraged when it looks like Bush was cutting them off. Then he disappointed me (as usual) by eventually addressing their national convention.

As long as the NAACP is seen to be relevant and the voice for Black America, we lose– if we marginalize them completely and treat them like the far-left group that they are, we win.

the GOP absolutely needs to do outreach to minorities but cozying up to groups like the NAACP is exactly the wrong way to do it. They have embarrassed themselves with this disgraceful resolution about the Tea Party.

I assume

indyjohn Wednesday, July 14th at 5:33PM EST (link)

that the NAACP is a non-profit and, as such, is prohibited from political activity that is coordinated with a party organization. Obviously, this resolution was produced at the behest of the White House, which is desperate to destroy the credibility of the Tea Party movement. At this point, the NAACP must be considered nothing more than an unofficial branch of Organizing for America.

But what is liberty without wisdom, and without virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils; for it is folly, vice, and madness, without tuition or restraint.

I find it particularly amusing that an organization named the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People”, whose very existence is predicated on the notion that the agendae of “colored people” should be advanced, can level a charge of racism in an organization called the “Taxed Enough Already (TEA) Party”. Similarly, I find it particularly disappointing that this sort of behavior will actually work in some segments of the population (none of those segments being racially connected, I might add).

Unless you consider “people who can’t think critically” a “race” unto itself, that is.

Every place I’ve been where the TEA Party was holding a meeting, or demonstrating, it has been peaceful. Every such assembly has been carefully monitored, by its own body, I might add, for people who want to infiltrate and damage the movement with racial epithets or birther or truther statements. Hence, the arrowed picket signs of the form “this person does not represent us”, which are at the ready everywhere. That’s the first time I’ve EVER heard of that mode of such overt self-protection/self-filtering in a political movement, historically or anecdotally.

These poor people, frustrated as they are, can’t even bring themselves to use basic profanity in polite company, much less hurl an epithet. I can only imagine that they’d shouted from the room if they tried anyway.

So the final card is played. Racism. You don’t have to prove it, you simply have to claim it to be true, by consensus. In fact, in this case, a consensus of NAACP representatives. All they have to do is claim that the movement is prodominantly white (which it is, but not moreso than the general American representation.

I can tell you of whom there are an inordinate representation in the TEA Party:
–legal immigrants who have actually seen first hand the results of the spectre of Socialism brought before them by the current Administration.
–people of all walks of life concerned that the country is being destroyed before their eyes.
–people whose federal representation is clearly ignoring the collective (not even personal!) will in their district.

I don’t know what your mamma taught you when you were a child, but last time I heard, truth doesn’t depend on what fraction of the populace believes or claims something is true. I also heard as I child that one should never claim something is true unless you have proof. Good evidence. Something.

The NAACP consensus bear no real weight, except for those that might take the NAACP at its word. Precious few, if there’s any sense left in this country.

I tought I had this whole racism thing figured out, but clearly, I am misinformed. Consider the following:

Milik Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party praises Osama Bin Laden, Al Queda, and the Taliban.

The White House announces that Al Queda is a racist organization.

The NAACP passes a resolution denouncing racism within the Tea Party, without mentioning the racism within the New Black Panther Party.

Whoopi Goldberg stops short of calling Mel Gibson a racist despite clear evidence to the contrary.

I wish those responsible for defining racism in our country would get together and publish a set of rules so the rest of us could know what we’re supposed to do, lest we be accused of racism.

Let's be honest...

wannabeanncoulter Wednesday, July 14th at 2:58PM EST (link)

It’s all about some of those signs at Tea Party events. When the quasi-leader of a Tea Party event has a poster with the word “niggar” on it, there’s going to be some backlash. And there was some other eyebrow-raising signage too.
There’s no way to prevent such excesses in open movements. You just have to condemn it, reject it, but ultimately live with it.

We can let the PC world run amok, but seriously? These words are used all throughout our culture…and today they are applied well beyond specific ethnic groups. I think a great deal of progress might be enjoyed by the NAACP membership and others when they either stop whitey-based derogatory comments…or call those racial slurs as well…or better…grow up and get over themselves, and focus on solving the issues we ALL are confronted with as Americans-not black or white ones, mind you…just Americans.

Most of the rest us have moved on to the stuff grown ups have to worry about….

It’s all about painting the political opposition in terms of being the hated “other” so they can score points against them or drive them into irrelevancy.

In other words: it’s all about destroying the opposition to their agenda in the eyes of the nation.

It’s also about projection. The left projects it’s worst aspects onto anyone who wants to oppose them. In this case it’s one of the most racist bigoted closed institutions in the country that is doing it.

The only good coming from it is hOpefully the further discrediting of the race card as a playable option in politics. The credibility of the race card has been going down since before Reagan, hOpefully this administration is the end of it.

Insights into the Prez

(saw this on the net!)

OBAMA AVOIDS BIBLE VERSES !

Here are some Bible verses that Pres. Obama avoids:
Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): “It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury – how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!”
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under “a servant who becomes king.”
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: “let thy words be few…a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he’s destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
Or maybe an enslaver of all free citizens!

Isn't this a step towards becoming irrelevant?

When you make such a big deal out to denounce claims that are at best questionable, you lose your credibility. IMHO. the old phrase, pick your battles comes to mind.

The tea parties are already constrained by the double standard

renny (Diary) Wednesday, July 14th at 4:31PM EST (link)

Anarchists, Code Pink, leftover hippies, et. al. appear all over with hate signs of Bush as Hitler, or Bush being hanged, or keying parked cars, setting buildings on fire, and calling for total chaos, but if the tea parties have one person in 100,000 with a sign that says “Obama is a dope” then somehow we have to feel guilty for “violence” and “racism.” ???
On the other hand, I think most people are inured to being called vicious names because that’s all the left has done for a couple generations. It wears really thin. Maybe the NAACP doesn’t get out much, but few people are going to cower and cringe because a bunch of professional whiners (once a grear ogranization as once the ACLU helped end segregation in the South) make some idiot statement.

Who cares about the NAACP?

GreyCloak (Diary) Thursday, July 15th at 7:25AM EST (link)

Yeah, I’m a white guy who supported the black guys forty-fifty years ago. REPUBLICANS passed the Civil Rights Act, while LBJ’s Democrats voted against it. LINCOLN (R-Illinois) made the Emancipation Proclamation. I make no apologies.

Obama won, and Jesse Jackson cried. NOT because a black man was elected President by a lot of white people, but because America elected a black President, and the NAACP can never again say “the establishment [white people] is keeping us down.”

Yeah, MY white friends (I got shanghaied by parents for a vacation) really were spit upon while marching with Martin Luther King through Berwyn [Chicago Suburb]. Despite a $100,000 reward, NOBODY has stepped up with a video that ANY of the Tea Party hurled spit or epithets at anybody in the Congressional Black Caucus (which they claim to be true).

I am sure that there are people in every movement that are racist. While I was tutoring on the West side of Chicago under the supervision of the Viceroys, a couple of Black Panthers told me, flat out, that they intended to kill white people. I seemed to be (fortunately) exempt at the time.

I haven’t noticed any signs among the Tea Party protestors that refer to race. I remember many among Bush protestors that accused the previous President of being a Nazi. Protestor signs over the years tend to call Presidents either Nazis or Marxists.

Should they accept the accolade, I would commend the NAACP of electing the first Black President. It remains to be determined if he’s any better than the previous white guys. Take a premise, folks: they (Presidents) are all the same.

Gee, isn’t that a blow to prejudice?

About ten percent of the House are black, representing about 12 percent of the US population. Only one Senator remains: Roland Burris, replacing Barack Obama. Wait until the Hispanics catch up … they are the new minority.

I don’t see the NAACP standing up for “Brown,” “Yellow,” “Red,” or even “White” people. They seem to have lost their rainbow. Where is their comment about the Iroquois loosing visas?

I am sorry, the NAACP is irrelevant.
