This sounds familiar.

One of the details to emerge from the firing of former FBI Director James Comey was that he kept memos of his interactions with President Trump.

Interestingly, Comey says that he never felt compelled to keep memos of interactions with any other president, but with Trump, something was different.

Well, he’s apparently not alone.

According to the Associated Press, newly-dumped Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was of the same frame of mind, and followed suit.

Andrew McCabe — the former FBI deputy director just fired by the attorney general — kept personal memos regarding President Donald Trump.

That’s according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation who wasn’t authorized to discuss the memos publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

This person says the memos are similar to the ones maintained by former FBI Director James Comey, who Trump fired last May.

You have to wonder if Comey, as he was making his own exit, suggested to the then-acting Director McCabe to keep memos and be on his toes around Trump.

As to what these memos may contain, and if they end up in the hands of special counsel Robert Mueller, that’s up in the air.

So far, there’s no indication of what may be in the memos, but it might be a good idea now if Trump’s sycophants stop saying, “Let Trump be Trump” and they start urging him to be a little more respectful of the people he’s dealing with, in his capacity as president.
