Good for her.

President Trump’s Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is doing what no other Trump Cabinet member seems to have the guts to do.

She’s calling out Trump on his foul mouth.

I mean, Trump’s foul mouth on the campaign trail (and everywhere else) was common knowledge before he ever got in the White House, but now somebody is saying something about it.

So what prompted DeVos’ rebuke?

According to CNN:

While campaigning Saturday in western Pennsylvania for GOP congressional candidate Rick Saccone, Trump mocked the “Meet the Press” moderator, joking, “It’s 1999, I’m on Meet the Press, a show now headed by sleepy eyes Chuck Todd. He’s a sleeping son of a b*tch. I’ll tell you.” In the past, Trump has jabbed Todd for looking “sleepy” on Twitter.

Evangelical favorite, right there.

I covered Trump’s disgusting behavior with the Pittsburgh rally on Sunday.

On Monday morning, DeVos was interviewed by NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on the comments made about her colleague, Todd.

Guthrie asked:

“I wonder, as the education secretary, who’s in charge of what our kids learn, what do you think of that kind of language? Would you wash someone’s mouth out with soap?”

It’s a valid question.

There used to be a time when our children were encouraged to strive and achieve, and to aspire to even the highest seat in the land: the presidency.

We’re in a post-pride/post-dignity/post-decency America, where most [responsible] parents won’t allow their children to listen to our president speak.

For one thing, he’s mainly incoherent, and no parent wants their child to be a blabbering dolt.

For another, he’s vile, abusive, petty, and profane, far too often to risk exposing a child to his language.

This, however, is not a new thing with Trump, so it’s not unexpected, at least. What’s depressing is how many of our elected leaders don’t push back or demand he clean up his act.

DeVos at least spoke out, when asked.

DeVos replied, “I would probably use different language myself,” before calling on adults to serve as good examples.

“That would include the President as well,” she added.

While being interviewed by Chuck Todd on Sunday, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was asked about Trump’s hateful rally speech.

Mnuchin remarked about all the funny moments at the rally.

Todd appeared unamused. “Yes, they were hilarious,” he replied.

Mnuchin’s reaction was the uniform reaction of most who have lowered their standards to work for the Trump administration, so that makes DeVos’ statement all the more refreshing.

I wonder where she’ll end up after she’s let go?
