The speculation over Andrew McCabe’s sudden departure from his role as Deputy Director of the FBI has ran the gamut of conspiracy theories.

Here’s a newly revealed nugget for those playing along at home: Text messages between the now-infamous FBI agent Peter Strzok, and his mistress, Lisa Page, suggest that McCabe’s actions, regarding Hillary Clinton’s email scandal rated a closer look by the FBI inspector general, so it was apparently thought best to get out of the way while that was going on.

What did he do (or not do)?

He sat on information of those emails found on the perverted former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s laptop for a month.

McCabe’s apparent inaction on the emails, which were found on the laptop of disgraced New York Rep. Anthony Weiner (D) during his sex crimes investigation, is the subject of an FBI inspector general investigation, which seeks to discover whether McCabe withheld the information from the public for political reasons.

It’s a good question. Why sit on all those newly discovered emails?

I’m sure everybody has a theory, but we may not know everything until the IG’s investigation is complete.

“Got called up to Andy’s earlier,” Strzok wrote in a Sept. 28 text, which continued: “hundreds of thousands of emails turned over by Weiner’s atty to sdny, includes a ton of material from spouse. Sending team up tomorrow to review … this will never end ….”

Once McCabe brought the information to Comey, it was announced that they were reopening the investigation, in order to examine the newly found emails, with just under 2 weeks go to the election.

Ultimately, they determined that there was nothing there worth pursuing. That didn’t stop Clinton’s team from howling in protest that the timing of the announcement had swung the election back to Trump.

Let’s be honest: That has far less to do with the outcome than the fact that Clinton was about the worst candidate the DNC could have run for the presidency, even if their goal was to lose.

So there it is. McCabe’s resignation has nothing to do with his actions during the Russia probe, but rather, his inaction during Clinton’s email scandal.
