THIS: At the Height of Nunes' Memo Research, Trump Sought Loyalty From Rosenstein

This sounds familiar.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein got the Trump treatment back in December.

According to CNN, Rosenstein spoke with Trump in a meeting, seeking his support against Rep. Devin Nunes, as Nunes was digging around for sensitive information to include in his mystery memo, alleged to give details on abuses by the government with the surveillance system.

First of all, I’m wondering who put it in Rosenstein’s mind that Trump would ever agree to work with him on something that aims to end the Russia probe?

Maybe Rosenstein is just a hopeful guy.

According to CNN, it didn’t work out to Rosenstein’s liking.

At the meeting, Trump reportedly asked Rosenstein about the direction of the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, and asked directly if Rosenstein was “on my team.”

Rosenstein replied, “of course, we’re all on your team, Mr. President,” according to CNN’s sources.

You appointed special counsel Robert Mueller. He didn’t believe you.

Trump has considered firing Rosenstein in recent weeks according to a recent CNN report, telling aides “let’s fire him.” Rosenstein is the top Justice Department official in charge of the Russia investigation.

And now we see Trump, while requesting Rosenstein’s loyalty, is absolutely the same Donald Trump who has no loyalty for anyone else.

Trump has suggested that he’ll sign off on releasing the memo – against the urgings of the FBI and his own Justice Department officials – sometime in the near future.
