Breitbart Editor Cries "FOUL" Over Trump's Attack on Steve Bannon

I really wondered if Breitbart, as a [sort of] news site, helmed by Steve Bannon was going to just let their leader be repeatedly slammed.

Admittedly, Bannon has had a really bad week. After excerpts from Michael Wolff’s new book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” were released, it was determined that Bannon’s thoughts on the Trump presidency were widely featured – and they weren’t good.

In fact, knowing what we now know, based on the book, it would appear that a lot of the leaks and other tumultuous issues from the first year of Trump’s presidency may have originated with the former White House chief strategist.

It didn’t take very long to find out how the split in MAGAville would go, as red cappers flocked to the comments section of Breitbart News to slam Bannon for his disloyalty.

Others called into his show on SiriusXM, and I’ve seen some on social media calling for SiriusXM to boot him from the air or face their boycott.

Rebekah Mercer, the wealthy backer of Breitbart has pulled her support from Bannon.

The man is friendless, it seems.

Or not.

At least one of Breitbart’s editors had enough, after President Trump slammed Bannon in a Friday tweet, after Trump tweeted that Bannon cried and begged for his job back.

“This is outrageous even by POTUS standards,” Breitbart London editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam tweeted late Friday, responding to a tweet from Trump that went after “Sloppy Steve Bannon.”

Bannon has tried to redeem himself in the eyes of the gilded toad.

“The president is a great man,” Bannon said on Wednesday on “Breitbart News Tonight,” broadcast on Sirius XM.

“You know I support him day in and day out,” he continued.

This was in response to an angry caller, and judging by the level of anger at him, right now, it didn’t work.

Kassam went on in an interview to try and make the case that Trump and Bannon were still on the same side, and there was no need for a feud.

“It sticks all together … If you look at what Steve Bannon is doing, if you look at Breitbart News, it is the only news site in the world which truly endorses the [‘Make America Great Again’] agenda, and it doesn’t need to be ‘either/or,’ ” he told the BBC.

“When Donald Trump is himself on the stump, he has the best political instincts of anyone in the past couple of decades, at least, to build that base and get all those people voting and to the rallies … we’re not on different sides here.”

Yeah. I don’t agree with any of that last part, and Gateway Pundit would probably have something to say about that first statement.

That being said, I think Kassam is missing the broader message: The loyalty is to Trump, not Trump’s brain.

Bannon apparently missed it, too.
