Jared Kushner, the beleaguered White House senior adviser and Trump son-in-law, is, by the sound of recent reports, very close to finding himself in the Russia probe fire.

His alarmingly faulty memory (for such a young man) has required that he file, refile, and refile again the security clearance paperwork for the job he holds, because he keeps forgetting to mention all the contacts with Russian officials, or at least friends of Russia he’s talked to.

I mean, it is just a bad memory, right? Otherwise, we’d have to assume he’s being deliberately deceptive.

In the heat of all the controversy has been rumors that President Trump has encouraged Kushner to take Ivanka and beat a path out of Washington, as he fears they may soon become too embroiled in the political upheaval.

There has even been talk that Chief of Staff John Kelly could possibly be looking to force them out (something he now denies). He’s already limited their access to the president.

Kushner, however, is putting on the brave face and has announced that nothing is going to get him out of the White House.

“We’re here to stay,” Kushner told The Washington Post. “At the current moment, we’re charging forward.”

Kushner went on to say it was “a good sign” that Ivanka had asked him if the family should look at new houses.

After their initial move to D.C., the couple stated that they’d reassess whether to pack up and move back to New York City if Daddy Trump managed to hang on 6 months, without being driven out of town on a rail.

He hasn’t, so they apparently feel they’re in the clear.

That, or there’s always the possibility that Kushner has been advised not to leave by his legal counsel, as it would appear he’s running.

Kushner, as I mentioned, has become a major focus of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling and collusion in the 2016 election.

Kushner participated in two meetings with Russians in the month prior to Trump’s inauguration — one with former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and another with Sergey Gorkov, the chairman of a state-owned Russian bank.

He was also a part of the June 2016 meeting that consisted of Donald Trump Jr., campaign chairman Paul Manafort, a Russian lawyer and several others, which Trump Jr. agreed to, feeling he would get damaging information on Hillary Clinton.

If it really goes bad, Kushner can’t say he wasn’t warned.
