AWKWARD: Breitbart May Be Sued By German Soccer Star For Unfortunate Photo

A German soccer star, by the name of Lukas Podolski, is considering suing Breitbart for spreading FAKE NEWS.

The organization recently released a headline, featuring Podolski’s image, and suggested the image was a photo of Spanish human traffickers.

The far-right website posted a story, titled “Spanish Police Crack Gang Moving Migrants on Jet-Skis,” on Friday with a photo of Podolski riding a jet-ski as the lead image.

OOPS.

The photo was replaced, along with this correction:

“A previous version of this story included an image of Lukas Podolski on a jet ski. This image appeared as an illustration of a person on a jet ski,” the editor’s note reads. “Breitbart London wishes to apologize to Mr. Podolski. There is no evidence Mr. Podolski is either a migrant gang member, nor being human trafficked.

I’m sure he’s glad to hear that.

“We wish Mr. Podolski well in his recently announced international retirement.”

Nice touch.

Keep this in mind, should you see a Breitbart article jabbing at “fake news,” you may want to remember this piece.

The lawsuit may be settled, by then.
