TRIVIA: How Often Does Trump Tweet? We've Got the Numbers

You just know this is going to come up in some future version of Trivial Pursuit, so jot this down, board gamers.

As today marks 6 months since Donald Trump was sworn in as president, Mashable decided to do the math on the Tweeter-in-Chief’s online habits.

The examination came after a tweet by Trump’s arch-nemesis, CNN:

You had to know CNN were going to make that swipe.

The battle rages on.

Mashable, however, went to Twitter’s archives on Trump to gather further numbers.

If you look at the number of tweets from Trump’s account from the day he announced his presidency – June 16, 2015 – until today, he tweeted 9,146 (or around 365 tweets per month).

During the six months prior to his Jan. 20, 2017 inauguration Trump tweeted a respectable 1,837 times, about 10 tweets a day. And though it seems like Trump’s tweets consume our days since he’s taken office, the archives show he’s actually tweeted less in his first half year than he did leading up to his swearing in.

And the exact number of tweets from January 20, 2017 to the 6 month mark?

From Jan. 20, 2017 until July 20, 2017 Trump appears to have fired off a mere 1,002 tweets at the time of writing this article, which breaks down to about 5.5 tweets per day. Feels like A LOT more; however, keep in mind that the president has deleted his fair share of tweets — at least 22 that we know of.

I suspect the rigors of the job, traveling, and those who have desperately sought to cut down his mad lib tweeting have had something to do with the decreased time playing keyboard warrior.

Mashable goes on to note that if he keeps on pace (and nobody breaks his phone), Trump will have logged in 8,000 tweets.

Half of them will likely be attacks on CNN.
