So this just sounds nasty, but I get that they were trying to make a statement with ice cream.
Franklin Fountain is an ice cream parlor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and they apparently have a problem with the new president.
Ok. They haven’t outwardly voiced opposition to Donald Trump, but they did come up with an ice cream sundae named ImPeach Sundae.
From the Hill:
The sundae is made up of peach ice cream “smothered in nuts from the cabinet, with a side of our orange colored Tomato Ice Cream topped with Cheetos,” according to the Instagram post.
“May be served with tiny demitasse spoon per request, to make any hands look huge,” the ice cream shop wrote in its Instagram caption, posted just weeks into President Trump’s term.
I’m actually more taken aback by the revelation of the existence of tomato ice cream.
Co-owner Eric Berley said he and his brother created the sundae together (his brother recommended adding Cheetos).
He told the website he has other ideas for future treats. He plans to come up with a recipe for bastani sonnati, a traditional Persian ice cream, as part of a “soft protest” against the president’s immigration policies, according to Billy Penn.
It’s meant as a “reference to sharing the message that being American is a melting pot of many countries, including our own heritage from both Eastern and Western Europe, with staff and family from around the world,” Berley said.
The Berley brothers also created sundaes in honor of Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders and nominee Hillary during the heat of the primary battle last year.
I don’t know about you, but tomato ice cream with nuts and Cheetos just doesn’t sound appealing to me.
Ben and Jerry’s they aint, except for the liberal, bleeding heart posturing.
