No Evidence of Wrong Doing Found In FBI Review Of Michael Flynn

The FBI review into the communications between Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Flynn and Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak has produced no incriminating evidence.

The news came on Monday evening, a day after news broke that Flynn’s communications were under investigation by U.S. counterintelligence agents.

On December 29, 2016 the Obama administration expelled 35 Russian diplomats from the nation, in retaliation for Russian interference in the 2016 election.

It was on that day that Flynn was in touch with Kislyak, raising red flags.

Flynn is the first person inside the Trump administration whose communications with Russian officials are known to have been reviewed as part of an investigation into whether the Kremlin tried to influence the 2016 presidential election in favor of Trump.

A U.S. official told The Post that the FBI routinely monitors the phone calls of foreign officials, and that Kislyak and Flynn were likely aware of that, making it unlikely that the two would coordinate illegal activities over the phone.

Investigations into three other former Trump associates is ongoing.

Former Trump campaign manager, Paul Manafort, adviser Carter Page, and Trump associate, Roger Stone have all been linked to the Kremlin, in some fashion.
