Clarendon Ballroom is a nightclub in Arlington, VA and they’ve apparently bought themselves a bit of Trump trouble.

The venue was in talks to host an event called the “DeploraBALL,” in celebration of Donald Trump’s win, the night before the inauguration. The group behind the event are called Citizens for Trump, and they’re made up of some of Trump’s more ardent online supporters.

Earlier this week, citing “suspicious behavior” from the organizers, Clarendon ended talks of hosting the event. They also noted that no contract had been signed to host the event.

Jack Posobiec, one of the organizers of the event, blamed political pressure for the breakdown in “final negotiations.”
“They knew from the first email that it was an event to celebrate President Trump,” Posobiec told the Post. “It was perfectly fine until The Washington Post started calling them out.”

According to the newspaper, Posobiec was referencing a tweet by one of its reporters, and that the Post has not written about the “DeploraBall” on its website or paper.

The result of this business arrangement gone south?

The club has announced that they’ve started receiving harassing phone calls.

An Arlington police spokeswoman, Ashley Savage, has confirmed that there is ongoing harassment, but that to this point, it’s not to the level of threats.

Other than the club’s reports of behavior they found to be suspicious, we can’t say why the club felt the need to back out of hosting the event. No one who has been paying attention for the last few months should doubt there has been harassment, however. Trump supporters are a rabid breed, and they are gaining a reputation for the absolute wrong reaction to any perceived slight – much like their hay haired hero.
