Enemies list.

He has one.

It’s really not an encouraging sign when you hear that someone who is running for some high ranking public office can’t let go of a grudge.

It’s downright frightening when that person is running for the presidency and keeps an enemies list. That hasn’t been great for the country in the past.

If Richard Branson, British billionaire and founder of Virgin Group can be believed, a lunch encounter with Donald Trump revealed a deeply troubled, revenge-obsessed man.

Branson took to his blog on Friday to write about the disturbing thought of a Trump presidency.

“Some years ago, Mr. Trump invited me to lunch for a one-to-one meeting at his apartment in Manhattan. We had not met before and I accepted,” Branson wrote. “Even before the starters arrived he began telling me about how he had asked a number of people for help after his latest bankruptcy and how five of them were unwilling to help. He told me he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying these five people.”

Branson “found it very bizarre” that Trump was unwilling to talk about anything else. “I told him I didn’t think it was the best way of spending his life. I said it was going to eat him up, and do more damage to him than them,” Branson wrote. “There must be more constructive ways to spend the rest of your life. (Hopefully my advice didn’t lead to him running for President!)”

Branson didn’t mention who these five people were, so we have no idea of knowing if Trump was just blowing off steam, or if he has actively engaged in trying to ruin the lives of these five people.

Another oddity is that this was the first time the two had met. I’m not an expert on what constitutes ice breakers over lunch, when two billionaires sit down together for the first time, but harping on your bankruptcy and the people who wouldn’t help you doesn’t seem like a great first conversation.

Branson noted that he was afraid Trump was going to ask him for a loan, which he would have had to refuse, but it was simply bizarre that their entire first meeting was apparently just a therapy session for Trump.

Branson went on to relate the events of another lunchtime conversation with Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton.

“Here we talked about education reform, the war on drugs, women’s rights, conflicts around the globe and the death penalty. She was a good listener as well as an eloquent speaker,” Branson wrote. “As she understands well, the president of the United States needs to understand and be engaged with wider world issues, rather than be consumed by petty personal quarrels.”

Here is where I have to point out that this is because Hillary has been crafting her persona and working for power and that ultimate brass ring for her entire adult life. She knows the proper way to schmooze with people who may be in a position to help her out, along the way.

Regardless, however, the point is in Trump’s behavior. It was, and is bizarre.

He is a petty man, thin-skinned, egotistical, and potentially dangerous, if given too much control.

We’ll know in less than two weeks if the American people become the latest entry on Trump’s enemies list.
