Well, here’s a stupid.
On Thursday, an armed man stood outside the Palmyra, Virginia campaign office of Jane Dittmar, a Democrat running for Congress to represent Virginia’s 5th district.
The protester, by the name of Daniel Parks, is a Trump supporter, and felt that standing for almost 12 hours outside of a random Democrat’s campaign office with his gun on his side, staring into the window, was just an awesome way to support Trump.
“I’m just trying to provide a voice for someone who might be a closet supporter of trump. Other people who are a little worried to speak out because of possible persecution,” he said.
Parks stood outside the offices for almost 12 hours. Dittmar volunteers say that the protest was disturbing.
“If he wants to support his candidate that’s fine, but don’t come here and stare into the office all day,” said Su Wolff, a Fluvanna County resident and Dittmar volunteer.
Open carry is legal in Virginia. That was never a problem. The staring, pointlessly, was kind of the problem. In this day and age, where there are disturbed people using weapons to go into public places and hurting others, for no apparent cause, and with the rancor this election has caused, you really have to question if Parks put any actual thought into this protest.
Then again, as a Trump supporter, “thought” is probably not one of his gifts.
Parks was joined by a fellow Trumpidian eventually. They were both armed.
“He turned sideways to be sure that we would see that he has an open carry gun, which is legal, and is fine, but it’s intimidating,” she said.
Parks said that his firearm is legal, and that he had no ill intention by carrying it.
“We’re not a threat to anybody, the only threat is ignorance, and ignorance breeds fear,” he said.
What a coincidence. Ignorance also breeds Trump voters.
Too easy.
Parks is also planning to take his “protest” to Richmond.
It’s still not clear what he’s protesting, exactly.
Is he protesting the fact that Hillary is defeating Trump in the polls? Is he protesting the media’s attention to Trump’s sex assault victims, as opposed to Hillary’s email scandal?
What is he protesting?
The only protest that matters at this point is his vote.
That being said, when he heads to Richmond, I really hope he ups his game and protests by squishing his nose against the campaign office glass, making those pig faces and fogging up the glass.
That would be so cool, and would really get a point across.
Don’t you think?
