Why these pathetic EXCUSES for women have the R after their name I will NEVER know and as a Conservative woman I should know what a TRUE Republican looks like and acts like and those two old bitter bitties have no CLUE!

She used to make sense, now it’s nonsense.
I used to read her posts years ago, but she seemed to grow stranget and I gave up.
Today, I go back once again to see what she’s up to, and she on about Afghanistan;

It is strange—it is more than strange, and will confound the historians of the future—that Gen. McChrystal has not been asked to testify before Congress about Afghanistan

Yeah, it IS strange. Why do you think he doesn’t testify, Ms. Noonan?

Why? The Pentagon doesn’t want them. A spokesman said Gen. McChrystal should be working the war, not in Washington “wading into the debate.” But Afghanistan will be settled in Washington, not Kabul, and the debate has already begun.

I must be losing my mind. Didn’t I just get through reading where McCain wanted to give McChrystal the opportunity but was blocked? Oh yeah;

Sen. John McCain wants to give Gen. Stanley McChrystal, our embattled commander in Afghanistan, the same opportunity. He offered an amendment to the defense appropriations bill that would have required McChrystal to testify before the Senate on his Afghan counterinsurgency plan.

The amendment was defeated Monday on a straight 40-59 party line vote. This time it was a Democratic president who might be embarrassed by testimony from a general he picked to fight what his commander-in-chief called a “war of necessity.”

Which is reality?

When I look at all these Reaganites who are turning out like Noonan has, I have to wonder how Reagan managed to do anything with “friends” like these.

I don’t think they ‘got’ Reagan at all. They just knew he was doing something great, road his coat tails, and then worked against him to tear it all apart as if, somehow, his coat tails were still available for riding without the man or his policies.

What comes around goes arund Peggy. These are your people unlike the conservative white trash that has taken over your party.

No mention of being a speechwriter for President Reagan.

need to float off into a big black void somewhere. I just read where Parker has written a piece claiming Meghan McCain is one who represents the face of the future GOP women. Unbelievable.

He reportedly said “You can go to Harvard, and it doesn’t mean a damn thing”

The elder Kennedy was so put off by Harvard’s snobbery that he was determined to get rich enough to FORCE the Brahmins to notice him.

His descendants, enriched by his efforts, morphed into what he detested.

And now Noonan gets the treatment. Poetic justice!

Along with many other critics, Noonan is threatened by the fact the Ms. Palin is in essence just a regular woman who has succeeded on the basis of her beliefs and perseverance. She has truly changed the paradigm back from “one who must conform” to “one who must believe in themselves and traditional values”.

For years people such as Ms. Noonan have tried to over intellectualize the role of women in our society with a goals of making them “equal” to men. But what does equal mean and who ever thought they were not in the first place? Perhaps it was just perceptions and the value associated with an already signficant contribution women were making to our society which needed to be changed? Such thought probably never occurred to Ms. Noonan.
Yet she and her liege have spent a generation making women feel inferior if in someway they were not complicit with their ill advised contra-intellectual endeavors grounded in an effort to destroy the traditional family in search of some greater calling. Rhetorically, what greater calling could there be?

The philosophical- “educated” view of Ms. Noonan has driven women away from traditional roles such as being the “glue” which holds a family together. She epitomizes a lost generation of mothers who either thought they had to abandon traditional family values and roles or sacrifice moral standards to compete in the so-called” man’s world. In the process many lost their uniqueness in a quest to be something they could never be. How destructive has that been to our society?

Then along comes Ms. Palin, who has been all things- a mother, nurturer for her children, moral compass, center for her family with no compunctions about physically pursuing what she felt was right or contributory to her family- a “soccer mom” with guts and drive. Someone who had the courage to be a mother to her family and at the same time preserve their future and American traditions through whatever means necessary. A governor and mother who pursued what was right no matter where it led.

Ms. Noonan has spent her whole life writing about philosophical exploitations based on theory and pointless intellectual explorations- a cause in search of meaning. Ms. Palin has spent her entire life preserving, building and engaged in physical accomplishment- showing others how it’s done without the so-called requisite transformation and philosophical abandonment. No wonder Ms. Noonan loathes her.

As a Northeastern Republican who writes for the Wall Street Journal, she’s also a female…who is wealthy, and who lives in the Northeast. This means that almost all of her gal-pals are liberals to the core. She dislikes Sarah Palin because of the cultural imperatives: Noonan doesn’t want to lose her gal-pals.

It’s simple.
