The Boston Herald had some interesting observations on those who attended Kennedy’s funeral. But this little morsel takes the cake:
The Rev. Jesse Jackson put in an appearance at the funeral, and at the end of the service, he looked like he was trying to slip into an honorary pallbearer’s spot at the bottom of the door. (Think Michael Scott of “The Office” worming his way onto the altar at Phyllis’ wedding.)
Political junkies and fans of The Office will get the hillarious Michael Scott comparison. One can easily envision Jesse Jackson shamelessly exploiting the funeral and worming his way into photo-ops. Of all the sycophants, jesters, hacks and hams in attendance, you have to be a first rate scumbag to stand out as the biggest media whore in that group. Congratulations Reverend.

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

Personally, I think it kills him that Obama achieved what he never could, and he’s now fighting tooth and nail to stay part of the “cool kids” leftist society and avoid being forgotten. I guess being a community organizer only counts for some people…….
