Battlefield Ohio: Shock Poll and Bruner’s ACORN Albatross

According to a new Quinnipiac poll, Barack Obama’s numbers are plummeting in Ohio, while Rob Portman is making serious headway.

Obama’s approval/disapproval rating is 49%-44%. In early May, Obama’s approval/disapproval rating was 62%-31% in the same poll. That’s a precipitous decline of 13% in two months. A majority of Ohioans also disapprove of the way Obama is handling the economy 48%-46%.

Republicans and the Rob Portman camp must be ecstatic. He is gaining ground without much effort. The Democratic brand is imploding around him. Jennifer Brunner leads by Portman one point and Lee Fisher leads Portman by four points. Both held double digit leads a few months ago. Republicans Car Dealer Tom Ganley is also polling surprisingly well.

A growing side story in the Democratic race is the growing fear that ACORN and election fraud may become a liability for Brunner. As ACORN members are prosecuted around the country, many feel that Republicans will exploit Brunner’s associations with ACORN, which is leading many Democrats to take a closer look at Fisher.

It was only a few months ago that states like Ohio and New Hampshire looked bleak. The tide is turning faster than expected. All this come on the heels of the Ohio Right ot Life Poll.

liberalism and liberal Republicans….WE told the GOP they didn’t need to move left and WE SCREAMED at them and all the beltway insiders that moving RIGHT would be a winning strategy and I do believe WE will be held RIGHT and they all will go HOME…ah yes 2010 will be eventful for all the 95 corridor players and they will have been shown to be on the WRONG side of history yet again. The winning mantra for 2010 is SMALL GOVERNMENT!
