Brown supporting “jobs” bill.

He says the bill isn’t perfect but he’ll vote to move it along anyway. The Dems are still one short of cloture(Lautenberg).

Technically not a diary entry but it’s news.

Brown joins Snowe and Collins--BIG mistake.

barrypopik (Diary) Monday, February 22nd at 6:29PM EST (link)

If every Republican votes one way and Snowe and Collins go the other way…he joins Snowe and Collins?

Forget about Brown for President. He’s made his first mistake.

If it's news, you really need to link it. nt

link?

swami7774 (Diary) Monday, February 22nd at 6:41PM EST (link)

I got it from AP (no link) and didn’t think it was kosher to cut-and-paste.

Today, there is a name for the political doctrine that rejoices in scarcity of everything except government. The name is environmentalism.

If you can cut and paste it, you can link it, no?

And there's two, in less time than it took you to post the two sentences.

Point is, it’s not hard. You have the internets. Don’t just post random, unattributed information.

I would agree...

This is not a diary.

Having said that, I will comment on Brown supporting the “jobs bill”. I don’t think that any rational thinking person believed that Brown was a strong conservative. It should have been clear to anyone that he wouldn’t be on our side 100% of the time. He campaigned on stopping Obamacare, and that fact alone was worth the effort to get him elected.

It appears that the Obamacare fight is starting up again. If Brown stays true to his promise and fights against it, I will feel that the money I donated to his campaign was money well spent. I don’t support the “jobs bill”, but I’m not going to feel short-changed by Brown supporting it.

We need to focus on getting more conservatives elected. With a strong core of conservatives in the party, the ranks of Brown, Snowe, Collins, et al won’t be as destructive to the Republican Party. Maybe once the citizens of their states see how beneficial conservatism is, they will be more willing to elect a more conservative candidate.

"Not a diary."

Then the site needs a place for quick-hit news item postings.

Sorry...

I can’t help with that. I’m just a fan of the site, and in no way able to pull that off. Maybe try contact@redstate.com.

Try an open thread; they're usually frontpaged freqeuently and

Don’t leave the party, hijack it back!

The only poll that counts is the one at the ballot box.

has been designated to be used as an “Open Thread.” Also, of course, anytime you see one noted as such. Caleb has one on the FP today as well. Your news item is perfect to place in the open thread.

A Massachusetts "Conservative" Just Is NOT the Same

Ausonius (Diary) Monday, February 22nd at 8:59PM EST (link)

as a real Conservative from (almost) any place else!

Brown’s vote is the lead story on Drudge at 9:00 P.M. EST.

See: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN2221899520100222

Of interest are the comments on the Reuters site under the story, in general mocking anyone who thought Brown was really a conservative.

e.g. “Disappointing, but not surprising. I’m increasingly worried that no one in Washington is actually going to change their actions on deficit spending until they economy and dollar collapse. It’s a party right up until they take the last step off the cliff…”

And:

” “What will the FOX propaganda machine have to say now. Can’t wait to see how they try to spin this one.”

In all fairness to Fox, they did report Brown was more liberal than most… that a MA republican is not the same as a republican from another state. Brown voted primarily liberal in MA… and that WAS reported by Fox, so pull your head out of your …”

Has Brown been deeply infected with D.C.-itis so early? Let us see if he wants to “compromise” on MAObamaCare!

Nope!
