Conservative showdown with Perry, Gingrich & Santorum

Erick Erickson as a willing moderator with an equally willing network to format.  Governor Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.  Let the three of them go at each other on the real issues that Americans are facing, jobs and the economy.  To honor Reagan’s “three legged stool” rule; foreign policy, social & fiscal conservative policies of each of the three candidates should be dissected and discussed at lengths.  Foreign policy should trump all, as domestic policies are null and void when our borders are unprotected and American interests abroad are not secured.

Many of Governor Perry supporters feel that he is the last true social conservative standing on the stage, a strong record on all three components of the proverbial stool.  In a year where conservatives should not have to settle, calls by well known right voices are doing just that, especially to the Governor.  Referring to a Newt Gingrich potential loss in South Carolina being a direct result of failure from the two Rick’s to depart the race.  Currently, Gingrich has less delegates than the other two, current polling trends suggest that will change after Saturday.  Nevertheless, conservatives are fractured into three camps, currently, and each camp for the most part believes in their candidate as making the strongest case against first, Mitt Romney, and then ultimately against Barack Obama.

I realize many are debate-weary.  However, in this very important election year with a very weakened incumbent, currently polling dangerously low for a re-election rally, conservatives need to stick to their principles in my opinion.  Get the three guys together,  let them hash it out on point-counterpoint until the issue is exhausted.  Conservatives need a voice, as blogger Melissa Clouthier (@MelissaTweets for Tweeters) explained via her podcast, conservatives need a leader that can clearly outline conservative values with a strong record to back it up.

If the “three” stay in the race, subsequently resulting in a Mitt Romney nomination than that is God’s will.   The case to be made for a true conservative reverts back to three candidates that they were unable to make their case, to “sell” their own electability respectively to the voting electorate.  I am a firm believer in the old saying “let the chips fall where they may”.

Redstate Diarists, please contribute your support for Governor Perry

Stay strong. Be steadfast in your principles.  This is the year we do not have to settle.  Write in your support at RedState on why you believe Governor Perry is the best GOP candidate for President .  Please ignore the early debate performances, the current ones are smashing and hitting homeruns, understand his transition to the national stage in a relatively short amount of time hit a few bumps, campaign missteps, whatever; none of which negates his long record of success in Texas and #1 job creation in the nation during a recession.  Yes he could tweak a bit here and there, all candidates have to at some point.  He has, he is.  His candidacy is just five months old.  Short time in the realm of politics.  Look at the record in Texas under his leadership.  That is what’s most important.

Creating a diary in support for Governor Perry is viewed by many people, whether commented upon or not, tweeted into the blogosphere, shared on Google forums.  Supporters of Perry cannot simply rely on the failed msm, they are pushing for a candidate that is extremely weak next to Obama in the fall.  Think about it, the anybody-but-Romney vote has won two primaries now, and scheduled to win another one in South Carolina. I refute the statement “Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line”.  Not this Texas voter~

Governor Perry, you are an Aggie!

For my first diary entry here at RedState, yes, I am going to use blog space to show my personal endorsement for Governor Perry.  I make known my very outspoken support for the Governor  in these RedState rooms almost on a recurring basis, because I believe in his leadership skills and desire to offset mischaracterizations of his record.   As a stay-at-home mom of three beautiful ones, I am challenged to participate on an active level in states such as Iowa, or South Carolina with my feet on the ground as the better part of my days are spent running kids up and down the street to their homeschool classes, youth group/church servant leader duties and extracurricular entertainment activities.  Instead, I engage myself, whenever the opportunity arises, to the arena of online conservative activism, via RedState and just recently with Twitter, and have for the first time in my life donated money to a political campaign in support of Governor Perry’s Presidency bid, the day after the Iowa caucus results.

Unswayed by a media narrative and polls that do not reflect the Governor that I know and admire, I believe that he is the best person for the job.  Issues at the top of my list, foreign policy, jobs & the economy, and social family values.  The Governor ranks high on every level.  One of the most critical aspects of selecting a President is one who understands the world, who will surround himself with competent advisors, that will not just talk about a message of strength and clarity, but will actually implement policy that will keep American’s safe.  Governor Perry understands what it means to secure the border.  Unlike George W. Bush, I believe that he will take necessary steps to close up the 1,200 mile long border with a rational, effective approach.  A strong sound foreign policy department is crucial in keeping Americans safe, at home and abroad.  Domestic policies mean very little if the border is not secured, essentially a signal to the world abroad that we are weak over here, come and get us.  Yes, I am a “9/11 mom” of the voting electorate.  This is what I look at first and foremost.

Understand that I am a native Texan and have voted for Rick Perry in every single election that he has run for office in, I have seen firsthand, and directly affected by, the pro-business, pro-jobs, pro-drilling environment that has been cultivated and promoted under his leadership and has made Texas, 13th largest world economy, 2nd most populous US state,  first in the nation for job creation.  While not getting into too much of the specifics of his record, RedState forums have provided excellent diaries previously that have outlined achievements and policies under Governor Perry, allow me to reiterate how well Texas is doing under the  leadership of  Governor Perry for eleven years now, lower taxes, less regulation and tort reform.   Given the dire economic situation our country is faced with, I believe the Texas model can transcend to all other 49 states with a leader that possesses the right mentality and the right implementation of policy based upon experience.  For me to reconcile my vote for the highest office in the land, I need to see results, record of achievements, not soundbites from a debate stage or a media push narrative that fears overhaul and change to a very broken system or holds bias against an accent from Texas.

Governor Perry represents social values that align with my own.  Church going, faith based, not afraid to pray in public and invoke the name of Jesus.  Family-centric man that will defend the institution of marriage between one man and one woman.  One of the most important issues to me of the social values spectrum is the Right to Life.  Texas, under the leadership of Governor Perry has been very instrumental in the defunding of Planned Parenthood in our state; Texas clinics reporting their worst year 2011.   Right to Life advocates, Governor Perry is your candidate.

For those who are against his candidacy, or might be on the fence, this first diary entry was created with you in mind.  Please take some time and do the research.  Ignore what the paid pundits are saying, usurp the Fox media blackout, follow the Team on Twitter, Facebook, visit http://governor.state.tx.us/  or go see him in person at a campaign speech, do whatever is within your means and capacity to get the real truth about his record.   As a voting electorate, are we more concerned with a few early debate stage performances and soundbites or actual results from sound leadership that has proven to be consistent and overwhelmingly successful? Unwavering, unapologetic and unafraid, Governor Perry is results.  This is fact.  Look at the state of Texas.

Texas’ primary is in April, I will casting my vote for Governor Perry for the GOP President nominee.  What an honor this will be for me.  He is the most Reaganesque of any candidate that I have seen in my voting life.  A man of courage, he does not wait for the political shifting winds or a media poll to make tough decisions regarding our nation and will turn right a country that is currently on a wrong track.  This election is about trust, we lost that in the last decade in our Presidency, proven results in Texas.  Governor Perry, a former Air Force pilot that has served his country is a genuine person that will restore integrity in Washington DC.   A generation inspired, my own sixteen year old son has taken an interest in this election, he is paying attention to how it all goes down.

Folks, Bush years are over, this is Perry country where I am from.  Somewhere in his body I am absolutely certain that there is a drop of maroon blood.  Speaking to RedState bloggers from the heart of Aggieland, I want everyone to be mindful that Aggies fight.  If any of you have ever heard of our football team and their record, you’ll know what I’m talking about.  As a 2nd generation Aggie, my dad class of 1955 and who, incidentally, has never missed an Aggie game since his own college days, we are a stubborn folk that hangs on through the ups and downs of events from our team.  I’m on Team Perry for the long haul.
