OWS and 9-11 – interesting perspective

A good friend of mine who lost MANY friends on 9-11 emailed the following to me earlier today:

“I don’t know why I do it but I just can’t help myself. I walked through Zucotti Park last night around 7pm just to see what this filth was up to. When I saw an old man with a sign that read “America is a Terrorist Nation” I asked him to explain himself but he became so enraged with me that the police stepped in. He had no answers for me and was screaming nonsense at me as I walked away. There is a new addition to the park, a big screen is set up now with words on it telling the crowd what to chant. They can’t even think for themselves anymore. That brought me to the lower part of the park that was caddy corner from what used to be the entrance of what was formerly known as Liberty Park (now Zucotti park) where there was the sound of non stop drum beating which I’m sure the residents in the area with children love to hear. Anyway I came across the famous statue of the man sitting with his breif case opened that I passed everyday for almost 22 years before this scum planted themselves in this newly renovated park. I’ve been up there once or twice a week observing since this nonsense began but finally noticed the sight of this statue desecrated with food and garbage and a silly Santa hat on it really was insulting. These people have no regard for anyone or anything. As I looked at the statue with the WTC in the background yards away, I thought of the image of that statue covered in dust the days after the murders of Sept 11th . The statue to many was a sign of resilience and a rallying cry to rebuild and recover after the attacks. It now sat there in a pile of garbage surronded by vermin that have no concept as to what it meant to so many people. After taking the Santa hat off and throwing it out and wiping him off, three twenty somethings watched me and asked me what it was and why it was there. After telling them one of them said (for some reason believing I was part of this Slopfest) “he belongs to the 99% now”. I said ‘not a chance, he has character and has seen too much to ever be a part of this mess. I think he feels sorry for you” and I walked away. I walked down Chruch St on the way to the PATH enraged that this sort of nonsense is taking place pretty much on the grounds of the worst attack and mass murder on our country in history. I looked up at the towers and thought of all my friends and co-workers that were murdered and what they would think of these losers. It made me s think when will people start standing up and challenge these clowns. Why just two short years ago were the Tea Party and people so vocal but now seem to be retreating while this counter culture gets the attention and picks up steam. Why is there no counter demonstartion? How weak is Bloomberg, Giuliani would have never ever put up with this. I’m sure I’ll be back there this week. Why, I don’t know. Jay”

Closed Minded Leftists at UNC

Former congressman Tom Tancredo attmepted to delvier a talk about illegal immigration last night at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The congressman didn’t get the chance to speak however because a group of radical close minded leftists prevented it by using violence. Some may say that the shattering of a window is not violence. To those I ask well then, what is it. The placards used by the protestors included language ”there is no debate”. In the end, Tancredo was forced to leave the university without speaking.

I telphoned the University this morning and attempted to reach the President’s office. I got diverted first to the Athletic department – perhaps UNC has its priorities mixed up - I am afraid most universities can be included with UNC on that front – and after a few other mis-routes, I spoke with someone “who just sits at a desk” who happened to be quite friendly. I was advised that the University is investigating the matter. I asked whether there would be any arrests or other ramifications to the closed minded leftists but the desk sitter had no further information. Stay tuned.

Let Them Eat Cake

Just read the post that contends Rahm Emaneul does not pay real estate taxes on his residence because the property is used for a charitable trust. Even if the property does qualify, shouldn’t Rahm be asked why he feels he shouldn’t pay taxes. I’ll bet his explanaiton is akin to “Let Them Eat Cake” Afterall, its patriotic. Would love to see further information on this.

I spoke to many people pre election who said they wouldn’t mind paying a little bit more in taxes if it helped the country. They seemed to have drunk the Biden “patriotic to pay taxes” Kool-Aid. Many of them have estate planning tools to save taxes on death. Hypocritical? I’ll say. I wonder if Biden has estate planning in place. Estate planning is unpatriotic. In my view, anyone who voted for Obama who has any kind of estate planning in place is the purest form of a hypocrite. Do Kennedys have tax savings trusts? Of course. Windfarms are for the non-elite according to Teddy; Limo liberals motto: preserve your wealth, take theirs.

Change is coming. You’re not going to like it.

Oprah Doesn’t Get It

Orpah Winfrey has declared that for the first time since 9-11 the country is united. Her conclusion proves what we all know. Conservatives and Republicans are open-minded, optimistic and respectful of the American way. The country is united because we lost and those who have refused to try to unite over the past seven years have won. Turn the tables and we were prepared for riots, protests, allegations of cheating and four more years of “America bashing” from within. Of course the rest of the world would have continued to loathe us because our own people would have continued to loathe us publicly – at home and, unconscionably, on foreign soil. The rest of the world will love us again for awhile because those of us on the right will swallow hard, put country first and hope for peace and prosperity without giving our foreign enemies fodder for criticsm.

Joe Scarborough eloquently made our point this morning on MSNBC. Watch the video and then compare his comments to Oprah’s. We know we are right. We must accept the outcome of this election. Be proud, have class. The left may not appreciate our ability to honor our system, but we will be true to ourselves and our country.

I Meant To Vote No.

National Review has the audio of an Obama incident that nearly led to blows in the Illinois senate. Perhaps this is a good rebuttal to the “temperament” argument, but more importantly Obama is heard to say that he had voted yes, but meant to vote no. Add that to the “I apologize for being late” video and we could have created another “who can you trust” commercial.

We Can Do This

For those of you in the swing states, PLEASE write a simple, one topic, letter to your LOCAL newspaper. Appeal to those who are like you but perhaps are still undecided. Keep your letter simple and make those who are on the fence wonder about any one of a number of topics – Obama’s lack of any meaningful achievement, abortion, especially partial birth abortion, radical educational views, spreading the wealth, etc.

We can make a difference. Spend a little time. Please.

Bag The Rallies

Not sure if political rallies are serving our ticket right now. There is little media coverage, and the appeal is to those who are already committed.

The college football schedule should be used to our advantage.

If I were running Senator McCain’s campaign, I would be sure that he be in Gainsville for the start of the Florida football game, and then in Tallahassee for the beginning of the Florida State – Virginia Tech game three hours later at 3:30. Combined there will be approximately 200,000 people there. Meet and greet before kickoff, then out of there to the next game.

Michigan plays at Michigan state in mid-afternoon. Any better place for Governor Palin to be?

Colorado plays at Missouri at 6:30. Governor Palin and Senator McCain should be there on each side of the stadium. Say hello before kickoff, then get to Colubus Ohio for the Penn State Ohio State game. If they can’t be there for the beginning, make sure they are there at the end.

Most people who go to the college games are the “average Joes” like you and me. All of the swing states will be covered.

Am I dreaming?

Obama Lied About His Letter

I just got confirmation that Obama lied during the debates. He said on at least two occasions that he wrote a letter to Treasury to warn of the Fannie and Freddie impending crises. No such letter exists. Think of the commercial. “Why would you trust him?”

OK, I am lying. I do not know whehter the letter exists or not. I only would like to know if it does exist. Think of the ramifications if Obama is caught in an outright lie – about a simple fact – and we can pounce on it without having to get theoretical or political. Call a lie a lie. It will appeal to Joe and everyone else.

Am I focusing too much on a small issue?

David Price and Obama

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price introduced Barack Obama yesterday at a rally in Florida.

Price did not play professionally last year because the Rays did not offer him enough money. He turned down millions of dollars. He signed this year for millions, plus some.

Now that we know that Price is an Obama worshiper, we must aske if Price will agree to give a large portion of his multi million dollar signing bonus to a Rays player who is not so lucky. Perhaps David will share his bonus with a 39th round draft pick who got no signing bonus. After all, according to his man’s way of thinking, David is just lucky. He happens to be bright, big, and athletic. It is only his good fortune that got him where he is today and he probably did not work hard to reach the major leagues. Besides, even if he did work hard, he was supposed to work hard because of his God given talents. So I think David should spread the wealth around with some of his less fortunate teammates – to make sure that those below him have a chance and so that he can be a true messenger of the Obama doctrine.

Boycott Oprah’s Sponsors

Oprah Winfrey has offered to produce Obama’s 30 minute infomercial. Oprah has the resources because of the money made off of her television show. We purchase the products of her sponsors. Time to boycott those products.

This is far different from the situation of the business owner in Maryland who was chastised for displaying a McCain sign. That individual merely was expressing his opinion. Oprah, however, is using the resources that she has earned from our money. She now wants to be part of the political process. We can stop her by immediately boycotting her sponsors’ products.

Tax Structure – A Must Read

I am not usually an email “forwarder” but not only did I forward this email that I just recieved but felt compelled to post this little ditty. I do not know whether the writer who was given credit for this example even exists (if he doesn’t he can vote in many states anyway) but this is the best example of “unfair tax cuts” that I have ever seen.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would
go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the
arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. “Since you are
all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your
daily beer by $20.”Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the
first four men were unaffected . They would still drink for free. But what
about the other six men – the paying customers? How could they divide the
$20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share?’

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted
that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would
each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that
it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and
he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 ( 25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 ( 22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% saving s).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued
to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to
compare their savings.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20,”declared the sixth man. He pointed to
the tenth man,” but he got $10!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a dollar,
too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!”

“That’s true!!” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back when
I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t get
anything at all. The system exploits the poor!”

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat
down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill,
&nbs p;they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between
all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our
tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most
benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being
wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start
drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Temperament

We have now learned that Obama is qualified to be president because of his temperament. Soon all resumes will state “no experience, poor judgment but good temperament.”
Didn’t the good senator almost have a fist fight with a collegue on the senate floor not too long ago? If so, it needs to come to the surface again to rebut any attack on McCain’s temper (which none of us have seen).

Senator Obama has twice referenced his brilliant letter to Treasury warning of the Fannie/Freddie impending doom. Has anyone seen the letter? It must be a public record. Does someone need to file a FIA request to get a copy of it? Shouldn’t we, as Americans, demand to see it?

If the letter exists, it cannot hurt the McCain camp. Senator Obama did not vote in favor of any legislation or regulation that would have put brakes on the spiral. He knew there was a problem but he put hs party first. He does business the “old way” in Washington.

If the letter does not exist….

Intimidation At IU

My daughter called from Indiana University last night. She told me that she is afraid to vote because she is afraid to go near the polling place. She is not a wimp, but the Obama supporters have been “in her face” telling her that she has to vote for Obama. She has been intimidated and threatened. My daughter’s friends who support Senator McCain have not, and will not, express that support for fear of reperucussions against them. Unlike the rogue voices at a McCain rally, the Obama supporters are doing exactly what their supreme commander has instructed them to do. “Get in their faces” he told them. Well, the sheep have listened and Obama has created a divisive atomosphere that is becoming worse every day.

If Obama is elected, will his followers have his endorsement to contiue to get in our faces?
