Minnesota Democrat, member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and islamofascist apologist Ilhan Omar was the featured speaker at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Los Angelese chapter on March 23. Just a few days go a video clip surfaced of here waxing poetic on 9/11:

“some people did something”? AYFKM. Dan Crenshaw waded into the fray:
First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as “some people who did something”.
Unbelievable. https://t.co/IKtoZWWmIT

As did the New York Post (see https://redstate.com/brandon_morse/2019/04/11/ny-post-not-playing-around-take-ilhan-omars-911-comments/):

And with that came a chorus from the caucus of anti-American, Marxist Democrat freshmen women in the House. Cortez (hahaha) said that Omar had done more to fight terrorism by, get this, signing on as a cosponsor or a bill to fund the 9/11 victims compensation fund than had wounded combat veteran Dan Crenshaw. (See AOC Challenges Dan Crenshaw over 9/11 With the Hottest of All Hot Takes, It Doesn’t Go Well.) She also called criticism of Omar an “incitement to violence.” (See The Convenience of Victimhood: AOC Calls NY Post’s Message to Omar ‘An Incitement of Violence Against Progressive Women of Color’.)
Rashida Tlaib went for the usual line of attack, she called criticism of Omar racist (WATCH: Rashida Tlaib Responds to Criticism of Ilhan Omar’s Dismissal of 9/11 Exactly As You’d Expect).
It is obvious that the tribalism and anti-Americanism that pervades Omar’s worldview was going to harm the efforts of the media to lionize these three nitwits and make them the poster children for the brilliance of “progressive women of color.” The stupid and self defeating attacks on Dan Crenshaw by Ocasio Cortez and Tlaib have only accentuated the extent to which they are pig-ignorant of the sensibilities of average Americans and, indeed, hostile to America. So the Washington Post’s Fact Checker, Glenn Kessler, played white knight to save any residual credibility Omar might have.
I’ve posted on Kessler’s exploits before. He’s most famous for proclaiming a statement by Mitt Romney “true but false” and for spreading some fake videos purporting to be from an unsuccessful bid for New York Mayor by Donald Trump’s father.
Kessler’s contention is that what Omar said is no different from what George Bush said:
When we listened to the whole speech, we were reminded of President George W. Bush’s phrasing in two famous moments after the Sept. 11 attacks.
“I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”
If you were reminded of that, you’re an idiot.
The audience, itself, tells you that the two statements are related. George Bush probably created one of the most memorable moments in modern American history with his off the cuff remark given from atop a fire truck at Ground Zero to an exhausted crew of rescue and recovery workers. Omar trivialized the death of nearly 3,000 Americans, her fellow citizens even if she doesn’t consider them countrymen, in front of an audience at a gathering of a terrorist front group. Those things are not the same. And no amount of saying they are will change that basic fact.
