The site that broke the story that was missed by Ed Gillespie’s razor-sharp campaign and all the brave and fearless firefighters and truth-tellers in the Virginia and DC political press — that would be Ralph Northam appearing in blackface alongside someone who could be former Democrat Senator and President Pro-Tem of the Senate Robert Byrd (they all look the same in the robes) — is now fronting a story that hints that Northam’s putative successor, should he resign, has committed sexual assault. This is via BigLeaguePolitics:
A woman named Vanessa Tyson, who is a fellow at Stanford University, says that a man who allegedly sexually assaulted her at the 2004 Democratic National Convention is now an office-holder about to get a “very big promotion,” according to a screenshot provided by a tipster. A friend of Tyson’s named Adria Scharf, based in Richmond, Virginia, shared the “heartbreaking” message, which Tyson wrote as a private post.
Tyson is a fellow at California-based Stanford University and professor at California-based Scripps College, which means the alleged sexual assaulter must hold office on the East Coast. Tyson says her alleged attacker won statewide office in 2017.
Justin Fairfax was a John Kerry staffer in 2004, and won an election in 2017 in an East Coast state. Now, he is poised to become governor of Virginia if racist Ralph Northam resigns as Democratic leaders and his own state party demand.
This is the text message Ms. Tyson gave BigLeaguePolitics permission to share:

Fairfax has responded by essentially threatening to sue the bejeezus out of anyone spreading the story.
Good luck with that, Mr. Public Figure.
Two interesting data points on this. The first is timing. It is sort of amazing that this hasn’t surfaced earlier. Fairfax is a high profile Virginia Democrat who hankers for a higher profile. Sort of funny that just as Northam is being pressured to resign this comes out. Could it be a message that the guy who would succeed Northam has a bigger problem than Northam’s improvident use of Kiwi shoe polish 35 years ago?
Of course, the most interesting part is that the Washington Post, which had a multi-day orgasm over totally unsubstantiated allegations about Brett Kavanaugh, investigated the story in the era of “believe women” and spiked it. Why was Tyson, a black college professor, who, by her resume, seems credible just dismissed by the Washington Post? Why was she treated like Harvey Weinstein’s and Bill Clinton’s accusers were treated (that’s a rhetorical question) while even the most transparently frivolous allegations against Kavanaugh–that would be all of them–were given exhaustive coverage by the Post?
