In the face of overwhelming pressure, the US, in the form of UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, hung tough today and defended Israel’s right to self-defense.
Yesterday, as the US Embassy was opened in Jerusalem, Hamas militants and a Hamas-incited crowd tried to force its way through the border fence delineating Gaza from Israel. Some 58 Gazans were killed. Many of them were armed. An undetermined number were combatants.

When it came time for the toad-like Palestinian representative to speak, Haley had the only appropriate response.

In the end, the US vetoed a resolution for an “independent review” of the incident in Gaza.
