Back in December the Democrats and a lot of NeverTrump GOPers decided that it was improper and/or illegal for Donald Trump to maintain an ownership stake in his DC hotel located in the Old Post Office building. This is about as petty as it gets but undeterred by scruple, the Democrats went as far as to manufacture a conversation with the deputy commissioner of the GSA in which he agreed with them. This whole thing has been a nothingburger since its inception. It would have taken a moderately sober real estate attorney about fifteen minutes to fix the LLC articles to make Trump completely compliant even had he been out of compliance.

And now the GSA has ruled that his stake in the hotel is completely legit.

Everyone would be happy if the real goal of the complaint was to ensure compliance with the law. But that was never the real objective. None of this changes anything. The people opposed to Trump will pivot from the GSA being loyal and professional civil servants carrying out the law without fear or favor (like those at the EPA) to crooks:
