Sadly. my headline is not hyperbole.

Today, Hillary Clinton used a question in one of her rare press availabilities to directly accuse Donald Trump of treason:

Clinton held an impromptu news conference in the morning in which she presented herself as a steady hand in the face of terror threats and Trump as a reckless leader who is already making the United States less safe.

“We’ve heard that from former CIA Director Michael Hayden, who made it a very clear point when he said Donald Trump is being used as a recruiting sergeant in and for the terrorists,” Clinton said.

“We know from the former head of the Counterterrorism Center, Mike Olsen, thabat the language that Mr. Trump has used is giving aid and comfort to our adversaries,” she added, using the constitutional definition of treason.

As Politico helpfully notes, the words Clinton used to describe Trump are taken, verbatim, from the US Constitution:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.

This statement simply highlights Clinton’s low wattage intellect and her total unfitness to serve in any position of responsibility. Giving aid and comfort to ISIS, if you want to get down to the core of the matter, was overthrowing Qaddafi and setting off a civil war in Syria that gave ISIS the space it needed to expand. And the argument proffered by Hayden and Olsen show why we are losing the war with radical Islam because it is being run by weak-kneed, spineless little men who simply can’t face down the enemy. They are trying to pacify and appease Islamic terrorists and ISIS. Their hope is by being kind, gentle, and inoffensive that radical Islamists will leave us alone. If you want to see the error of this way of thinking look at Britain, France, Belgium, and Germany where the governments have done everything but put on a burqa and become sex slave to radical Islamists and the citizens of those nations are raped, assaulted, shot, and blown up with rather monotonous regularity.

Using Clinton’s logic, Franklin Roosevelt was guilty of treason because the Germans used him and Churchill in their war propaganda to boost recruitment and regime loyalty. No one, on the other hand, used Neville Chamberlain.

There has never been a whit of evidence that ISIS, or al Qaeda, relied upon the statement of Western leaders to actually recruit or that a single ISIS jihadi walked away from his Paris taxi thinking, “I hate Donald Trump so much that I want to blow myself up.” ISIS’s call is not to defend Islam from the West, as Clinton has falsely stated, but to impose Islam upon the West. The people that flock to the ISIS banner don’t do so because they see Islam as threatened. They do it because they see Islam as resurgent and victorious and they want to be part of a new Moorish conquest of Europe. To the extent that Trump, rather than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or Angela Merkel or François Hollande, is featured is because he presents a perceived challenge to their conquest. That is not a bad thing.
