If you have followed the #NeverTrump movement since last autumn you have heard of Liz Mair. She and Rick Wilson carried on a low budget guerrilla war against Trump via the Make America Awesome PAC and gained notoriety for producing the semi-nude Melania Trump facebook ads that made Donald Trump even more bonkers than he was. In fact, just today she was back at it trolling Trump over his wife’s history as an undocumented worker (see Susan Wright’s post on the subject) by way of her new hobby, Republicans for Johnson-Weld.
Republicans for Johnson-Weld vigorously defends allowing Melania Trump to stay in the US, despite calls from her husband’s supporters this morning to strip her of her US citizenship and deport her.
We also welcome her to join our effort in support of the only presidential ticket committed to making legal immigration vastly simpler and more available to people from around the world— including Slovenian models— who want to come to America and contribute to our country.
While Donald Trump is running on a platform to deport 12 million people, apparently including his own wife, Johnson-Weld stands for allowing people in Melania’s circumstances to stay and, over time, become citizens if they learn English, pay their back taxes and pay a fine, and for allowing other glamour models from around the globe to come to America and make it an even more beautiful country than it already is.
That’s the kind of sensible, pro-growth, freedom-loving economic policy Americans can expect from the Johnson-Weld ticket.
Last night Liz was on Anderson Cooper’s show on CNN and the subject of Trump’s absence of discipline came up and Cooper wasn’t quite ready for the answer.
COOPER: …the Libertarian candidate is going to join me at the top of the next hour. Have you lost any hope that the GOP can rein him in to be more traditional or at least more disciplined?
MAIR: I’ve lost all hope that probably seven, eight months ago now, quite candidly. It’s amazing to me that anybody is still having a discussion about having some sort of an intervention or bringing him back on message. I think, as Errol just said, this is his message. His message is being a loudmouth dick, basically, and going out there and offending people and then engaging in a bunch of airing of grievances. That’s what he does. He doesn’t have another message He doesn’t have anything else that he really wants to convey. The Republican Party has a message but it’s not his message and he has no interest in carrying it. And, quite frankly, I think what we’re going to continue to see throughout this campaign, is we’re going to continue to see the Republican nominee basically acting as if he’s on a suicide mission and aiming to take the whole rest of the party down with him.
Yes, I just said “dick” live on @CNN. #sorrynotsorry
