It looks like we’re back to the bad old days of a supine, somnolent press corps (or corpse, if you learned to speak English like Obama) and having to parse each and every word the latest Clinton says.

Hillary Clinton on Monday defended the intervention in Libya that she championed as secretary of state, telling MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that the United States “didn’t lose a single person.”

“Libya was a different kind of calculation. And we didn’t lose a single person. We didn’t have a problem in supporting our European and Arab allies in working with NATO,” the former secretary of state said during an MSNBC town hall on Monday night.

My recollections are a lot different:

If you want to know why Chris Matthews simply let this baldfaced lie go unchallenged, the answer is simple. Matthews is a deeply corrupt Democrat apparatchik who abandoned even a shallow pretense of being a journalist nearly two decades ago. His wife is running for Congress and she is totally dependent upon the Clinton fundraising network to finance that bid for office. In fact, Matthews is so in thrall to Clinton that even the left wing media have started to notice.

Surprisingly, that was not even the biggest lie Clinton managed to tell:

Ousting Qaddafi was worth it, Clinton said.

“Now, is Libya perfect? It isn’t. But did they have two elections that were free and fair where they voted for moderates. Yes, they did. So you know, changing from a dictator who has hollowed out your country to something resembling a functioning state and even hopefully more of a democratic one doesn’t happen overnight,” she said. “And we’ve got to continue to support the Libyan people, to give them a chance, because otherwise you see what has happened in Syria, with the consequences of millions of people flooding out of Syria, with more than 250,000 people killed, with terrorist groups like ISIS taking up almost — huge blocks of territory, as big as some of the states in that area.”

That is such a grotesque lie that one doesn’t even know where to start. For instance, this is a map of Libya,

The pink (as a male my ability to identify colors is limited to simple permutations of the RGB matrix) area are under the control of the Tobruk-led Government and Zintan Brigades The green is under the control of the New General National Congress and Libya Shield Force, this is the Muslim Brotherhood. Gray areas are controlled by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and Ansar al-Sharia. Blue areas are under the control of local militias. And the gold areas are under the control of rebel Tuareg forces.

As you can see, about half the country and at more than half of the population are under the control of radical Islamists.

Hillary Clinton has been proven to be incompetent at everything she has attempted. Had she not been allegedly sleeping with Bill Clinton she’d be working DUIs in night court someplace.
