1. John Kerry never “proved” a single thing that the SwiftVets said was wrong.
2. The guy copped three purple hearts, wrote his own medal recommendations and never spent so much as an overnight in a medic unit.
3. Kerry himself admits that the guy he killed to “earn” his silver star was running away and unarmed. It was murder.
4. Kerry wrote every after-action report that his medals were based on. Find me one decorated vet from any war who pulled that crap.
5. Kerry went to Paris to “negotiate” with the VC and NV when he was an officer in the USNR. That is arguably grounds for a charge of treason.
6. There was obviously something fishy with his discharge. He specifically went to BC law school – not Harvard or Yale – because they didn’t require a DD214 and the Ivy’s did. It’s also interesting that his current DD214 and medal paperwork all carry the same date, well after he should have been discharged from the Navy and immediately after President Carter had the services review less-than-honorable discharges.
7. John Kerry has never released his full service record.
8. He lied to the Congressional panel about the supposed “war crimes” he said he knew about.

A major part of the SBVT controversy centered on the group’s testimony. Among the first to question the first ad was Republican Senator John McCain, a Bush supporter, Vietnam veteran, and former POW. He said, “I condemn the [SBVT] ad. It is dishonest and dishonorable. I think it is very, very wrong”. As a naval aviator in Vietnam, McCain had no firsthand knowledge of Kerry’s service. The SBVT statements were accompanied by sworn affidavits, although one affiant, Al French, later admitted he had no firsthand knowledge of what he had sworn to.

The ABC television show Nightline traveled to Vietnam and interviewed Vietnamese who were involved in the battle for which Kerry was awarded the Silver Star. These witnesses disputed O’Neill’s charge that there “was little or no fire” that day; they said that the fighting was fierce.

This just makes the rest of your post meaningless, whatever the point (I’ll be honest, I couldn’t bring myself to read beyond that without puking on my keyboard).

After reviewing this I remembered why I don’t get such a bad taste in my mouth from McCain as I do with most other Republicans.

If John McCain would have asked me, I would have told him that John Kerry is a backstabbing opportunist. But, perhaps he saw something in him that I could not see. Or perhaps he saw some similarities to himself and thought that John Kerry was also honorable and loyal since they had other things in common. In any case I no longer see this loyalty to a former fake soldier a character flaw, it’s just a blind spot that is now hopefully healed.

Isn’t it time we forced Lerch into retirement?

And so does John Edwards. But between the two of them, they couldn’t muster enough intelligence or integrity, not to mention character, to fool enough of the people into voting for them.

Obama is tall, lean, and doesn’t need a spray on tan. Biden barely has hair. But the two of them represent the Dems well in the usual categories–short on intellect and integrity, long on windy platitudes and untruths.

On the other hand, I have a new rope I’m still willing to donate…

lets see, George McGovern, Walter Mondale,
Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry. The list of charisma challenged failed Democratic candidates is a long one. I am hard pressed to cite one as any worse than the others.

At least you got to hand it to them, this time they got another slick guy with charisma. It seems to work for them a lot better than the alternatives.
