You Want Me To Do What?

Break out your pocketbooks, folks! The NRSC is in need!

When you're right, you're right (DailyKos). This is one helluva funny email:

From: "Senator Elizabeth Dole"
Date: Tue, 28 Nov 2006
Subject: Recovering from our Post-election debt

Help us Retire our Debt!

You have already done so much these past two years to help us protect our Republican Senate Majority - Thank you!

But right now, the NRSC is being buried under an avalanche of post-campaign debt... We need to address this problem at once in order to wipe-out our debt and make sure we have the funds to start 2007 with the maximum strength possible.

Please make an online donation right now to help the NRSC retire our 2006 campaign debt and set the stage for a GOP comeback over the next two years.

More of the bleg below the fold...

Dear Republican Friend,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support of our efforts to elect Republicans to the United States Senate this year.

I just wish I could say I'm writing today to celebrate a Republican victory -- but as you know, we were beaten by the Democrats in a very difficult election year for Republicans nationwide.

But even though we were unable to retain our Senate Majority, I believe we can still walk away from this election with our heads held high...

...Despite the odds against us, we fought hard in all our U.S. Senate races and still managed to keep the Senate extremely close!

And given how close so many races were, I even authorized the NRSC to go into debt so we could put more money into important Election Day messages.

As a result, the NRSC is now in debt after we spent every last cent on last-minute advertising and other efforts.

That's why I'm reaching out to the NRSC's most loyal and generous supporters like you today.

If you are in a position to do so, please make an immediate online contribution to the NRSC in the amount of $25, $50, $75, $100, $250, or more to help us wipe-out our remaining debt and make sure we have the funds to start 2007 with the maximum financial strength possible.

Click here to donate to the NRSC's debt reduction campaign!:

I know you have already done so much this year. And I truly wish that I did not have to ask you for another contribution...

But if we let this debt linger, it will cripple our efforts to recruit great candidates for the next election and begin our drive to win the one additional seat we need to regain the Senate Majority.

So please, don't let me down -- Help the NRSC recover from our election debt at once.

Remember, the sooner we can pay off the debt from the last election and begin to focus on the next campaign, the greater our chances are of regaining the majority in the next election.

So please help me make sure the next NRSC Chairman can hit the ground running in 2007 with no debt.

Simply follow this link: to help fund our debt retirement efforts with an immediate, secure online donation today!

No matter how much you can contribute, I want you to know that I deeply appreciate all that you have done for our Party, our Senate candidates, and me during the past year.

As my term as NRSC Chair comes to an end, I look back and cherish the great friendships I have made with loyal Republicans all across this country. I am truly thankful to have friends like you who are committed to our cause, our ideals and principles.

With my warmest best wishes,

Senator Elizabeth Dole
Chair, National Republican Senatorial Committee

Ensign by FirstState

I think Ensign is next.

Ensign will be a far better NRSC Chair than Dole. Its a shame that Ensign might not get the support he needs in the party because Liddy was inept at her job.

days. I hung up!

Donations by Rightmom

I wouldn't donate during the campaign to Ms. Dole and I sure as hell would not donate now. I rec'd the same request from Santorum's campaign and I sent some money, he earned it she did not. I don't know who her replacement will be however it had better be a conservative with old school values or they will never get another dime from this mom.

Peace through superior fire power:)

After the anger, if we are to ahve any hope of prevailing and mitigating the dhimmiecrat damage of the next 2 years, we need to do the grown up thing. We need to rally back, sooner than later, and make sure that the party is well funded.

The party, yes by Neil Stevens

Sure, we'll fund the party. That is, we'll fund the RNC. The NRSC is a whole different ball of wax, though.

Not really by lexington

The campaign committees will be key to taking back Congress. We just need someone with better political skills (read: any political skills). I'd like to see Jon Kyl as he seems to have the toughness and intelligence for the position. Not mention he is a solid conservative.

The NRSC did to much damage. Time to let it go away and be replaced y better organizations...

Dole sucks... by fairtaxchad

...so MAKE her pay!

Until the NRSC changes their policy to never get involved in GOP Primaries again I will NEVER support them.

Ensign by joetro

Ensign is now taking over.

If your statement is true, when Mr. Ensign sends out letters, then we will give him an audience. Donations will depend on what changes he makes in staff and tactics (for instance, whether the NRSC will keep out of Republican primaries in the future).

who happens to be my Senator, I still wouldn't send them ten cents. As far as I'm concerned, Liddy can sell her *** to make up the deficit or they can file bankruptcy.

Actually, bankruptcy would be appropriate for an organization as bankrupt as the NRSC.

Nose. Face. Spite. by horaceox

Dole hardly ran the NRSC as a tight, well-oiled machine, but I think refusing to fund it in 2008 under its new management isn't exactly productive. I've seen many posters here claim that their #1 issue (or at least #2 or #3) is judges. This issue is not helped by depleting the NRSC in what will be a very tough cycle for Republicans.

We can help it other ways by Neil Stevens

We can give to candidates directly and we can give to PACs that are focused on the judiciary.

Why? by horaceox

If Dole was coming back to run the show I could understand this, but she's out. Near as I can tell Ensign has been a pretty darn good conservative (lifetime ACU 94), and we should be behind him.

http://www.myelectionanalysis.com

It's as simple as that. She takes the axe and steps down because of her terrible management of funds before I'll ever think of contributing again.

And I also want to hear Rush Limbaugh apologize. I want him to say on the air that his savage attack against Michael J. Fox helped put Clair McCaskill over the top, because it did. He should have buttoned his fat lip.

Not entirely accurate by Bob Frazier

I listen to Rush several time a week. There was no attack on Michael J. Fox. I will agree the the national press presented it in a way that got Clair McCaskill elected.

Rush said Fox either manipulated his meds or he was acting in the "shaking Michael" stem cell spot. And as it turned out, Fox was manipulating his meds to aggravate his symptoms for effect.

The people who turned it into a "savage attack" were the ones who believe advocacy by a "victim" (as long as he's supporting liberals, that is) can never be questioned.

Fox's ad was dishonest on numerous levels: we weren't being shown the effects of Parkinson's, we were being shown the effect of intentional manipulation of Parkinson's medication, and we were being sold a bill of goods re: the prospects for embryonic stem cell research.

There's a reason the embryonic proponents keep pushing for government funding, namely, if they were dependent upon the free market, they'd have to produce something worthwhile or their research funds would be cut off.

Which, as I understand it, is pretty much the case already - the market's interested in adult stem cell research because that's where the best prospects are.

Fine by lexington

Rush should have made the point that you make about the dishonesty of claiming that embryonic stem cells will lead to cures, when nobody knows if that is true or not.

But Rush made a huge mistake by attacking Fox personally, claiming that he manipulated his medication. Fox denied doing this. Whether its true or not doesn't matter. The merits of the argument don't matter; Its just stupid to attack a sick person. It made Rush look heartless. And you don't have to take my word for it; thats what the opinion polling afterward showed.

I doubt this cost Talent the election tough, although the stem cell issue seems to have hurt him in the suburbs.

You just didn't hear much about that. I believe he said he intentionally took too much medication. Again, its the national press being disingenuous.

Twisting Words by Shadowin

Fox never said that he intentionally took too much medication. He said those effects are caused by too much medication.

COURIC: And that's actually caused by the medication?

FOX: It's caused by the medication. You know, it's funny that the notion that you could calculate it for effect is -- you know, people with Parkinson's out there were just kind of going, "Yeah, would that we could."

Fox actually stated he was overmedicated as opposed to being off medication or undermedicated as Rush stated, perhaps you might want to view the video again.

So now sick democrats get a pass to lie and misrepresent facts?
get real.

You act like that's something new.

So Glad by rblack198

So glad I'm not the only one who thought that when I opened my email over lunch. I especially liked the line that we kept the senate "very close" as opposed to a sustained majority. Some sort of bragging Bob's wife does. Sounds a lot like "it could have been worse", yeah they could have spent millions on a liberal republican that was bound to lose anyway . . . oh crap.

I see a lot of people by Rightmom

I see a lot of people suggesting a new person at the helm requires we give however I just cannot. I will donate to rightroots and PACs and direct to candidates I will donate to the RNC I will not donate to the hellhole that Dole has created and I do not believe it will be fixed by a new person at the head. Show me the conservatism and I will show you the money. Bite off my nose to spite my face I will most certainly do that. We are not mindless robots and I can suffer more years if need be under Democratic houses if the new people are anything near a RINO because the truth is they ae no better then Democrats.

Ask Ted Stevens for it by tankertodd

And all the other two-bit louses in the millionaires' club called the Senate. I'm sure Ted has some dough left in his freezer after all the billions he's grifted from the taxpayer. You can even set up a collection at the Ted Stevens International Airport, which serves over six dozen passengers daily!

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. - Alan Greenspan

Should we compare how many Robert C Byrd somethings there are in WV to how many Ted Stevens whatevers there are in AK? I'd bet Ole Bobby wins that race by a mile.

air cargo port in flights and 4th largest in landed weight in the World. It also accomodates the navigation for all the transpolar and North Pacific great circle navigation for the World. Both FedEx and UPS operate major hubs there. Most major national and several international passenger carriers operate several flights a day in summer and most maintain year round service. It is Alaska Airlines' second largest hub behind SEA. Since most of Alaska is accessible only by air, TSAIA has hundreds of in-state flights a day. A little knowledge is a good thing.
