June? *June*? Oh, nooooo, TNR. Not June.
Three months is not *nearly* enough time for the weasels of division to feast on your flesh.

For your amusement today, o my droogies: witness the almost completely controlled, very dignified, and quite modulated freakout of The New Republic.
In the recent history of presidential campaigning, April is the time when hope springs eternal. When every Democratic general election candidate--Michael Dukakis! John Kerry!--looks like he might have the stuff to pull off a landslide. It is the time to heal from the knocks and bruises suffered during the primary season. You raise money, you begin building a case for the fall, you vet vice presidential candidates, you start to knock around your opponent, and you still have time to head to Florida to work on your tan.
[snip]
Yet here we are in April, and the situation for Democrats verges on the apocalyptic. Where it once looked like Bill Clinton and Al Gore had helped purge the party of the lame identity politics that had ruined Democratic candidates for a generation, discussions of race and gender have returned with a vengeance. Supporters of Clinton and Obama compete to prove who is the bigger victim--opponents are casually tarred as sexist or racist. And, as soon as the Democrats began acting like it was 1984, that bad omen, Geraldine Ferraro, returned, as if on cue.
I'd make further comment, but Tori Amos says it so much better, doesn't she?

Let alone in1sightfull. This wonderful piece is surprising in solid analysis of the modern Democrat party. Its a sobering thought to think, what if they could turn that intelligence away from whining carping and direct it to useful
"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."
-Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777
I laugh at the meme that with Obama and Clinton slugging it out on and on and on that it will somehow help John McCain, as if it's inevitable of automatic that this extended Dem campaign season will benefit him.
You know, I really hope all of them are this delusional....
It still amazes me....this time last year, I would've sworn that the '08 elections was the Dems' to lose...and somehow they still manage to seemingly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
And Ob: April Fool's Day - this morning I was greeted with a tinyurl link with the headline "Clinton withdraws!". I foolishly clicked on it in the middle of a staff meeting expecting a joke "article" on Hillary's withdrawal from the race -- only to be greeted with Rick Astley's "Never gonna let you down!". Yes, I was Rickrolled.
she has been and remains my favorite artist.
Not really anything else to add about the Dems. They keep rolling along like that battery bunny.
Even if you know her all too well, you've still gotta love Tori. Sure, she's crazy, there's no doubt about that. Or at least, she'll drive you crazy. But she goes well with Morrissey, I think.
I have a lot of memories, some good and many not, but ultimately no regrets. And one of the largest collections of Tori Amos records you've ever seen a Republican have. Before I get too melancholy I should note that at the time, it seemed like a good idea, and I felt it was. No regrets.

...."Bush's" anything. Memo to the fake-news rag that is TNR: He's not running again.
