If you listen to the MSM or the Left in this country, you always hear how mean and selfish Conservatives are. We do not want to help the poor or various other inane reasons why we hate Black people and people less fortunate. well, if you really want to know, Conservative is the best thing for all. Free Markets and Liberty will always lead to a more prosperous country. But if you look at what the MSM and Left, the only way you can get happiness is through the government. This is the antithesis of what our country was founded on. Individualism and Federalism were some of the main foundations of that Document that the Left think is a living document.
Each state would be its own entity and the Federal government would be there to protect the states. Now the hand of the Federal Government is in our every day life and the Supreme Court has allowed the Commerce Clause to be used in ways the Founding Fathers never thought it should be used. We have the Federal Government telling states that they will get money for projects if they jump through hoops to get them.
Somewhere along the way, the United States of America has lost its way and we need to get it back on track. As in this video we see the Soft Tyranny poking its head into our country.

Sometimes being honest, is what people consider mean...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Friday, June 5th at 1:08AM EST (link)and that explains why the left hates the conservatives.
Really, have you ever noticed that the real jerks are sometimes the most brutally honest of all of us? Remember, that considering someone a jerk is a subjective evaluation made by others.
We are mean because we believe that there are a number among us that should be working rather than living off the public coffer. Obviously, the left would beg to differ with us.
I am Mean!!
JHancock (Diary) Friday, June 5th at 1:10AM EST (link)I don’t like doing your work for you!! If you are disabled, then let’s talk, maybe I can help out. If you are able bodied but continue to make a string of poor decisions, then tough s**t! The country shouldn’t have to finance the delinquancy of people who can do better but refuse to.
1)Wellfare should last only 6 months and be limited to 2years in a lifetime, only as a safety-net between jobs. People previously on wellfare and now making more than 25K single or 40K couple should have to make payments back to wellfare.
2)Medicare/aid should not cover lifestyle related diseases if a person has been previously warned by a doctor to stop smoking, lose weight, take their lipid pills, check into rehab, control their sugars, stop shooting crack etc. Also should not be available to those making more than 30k single or 45k couple. Should not cover exotic or high tech care, but just the preventitive basics.
3) Taxes should either be just sales tax, or if income tax FLAT, rather than graded, with no exemptions or exceptions.
4) Food stamps limited to just sustinance type healthy foods-no chocolate or Cheetoes. Also, if you can afford cable, alcohol, or cigarettes, you shouldn’t get food stamps.
5) I will however fund minor’s educations provided they continue to meet a series of benchmark tests, and avoid legal trouble. Education represents the prime opportunity for excellence and social advancement. …..But no, I won’t pay for your College, you’re 18 and an adult, so take a responsible calculated risk and take the loans to pursue a lucrative field of study and pay it back when you are done-I’m having to.
JH, thanks for writing exactly...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Friday, June 5th at 1:14AM EST (link)what I was thinking when I wrote that comment. Oh man, we are becoming mind numb robots.
Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can????????
I am mean....
readmylips Friday, June 5th at 7:22AM EST (link)Add me to the “mean” society. Funny, I never considered myself as mean. I think we should all contribute to society with our talents, work hard to better ourselves and family and choose to help others less fortunate by choice. I don’t believe the government should take from my earnings to give to whomever and whatever they want. I don’t like bailouts, especially to organizations like ACORN. Capitalism works! Socialism only degrades people and has never worked. Socialism negates initiative.
I’m a proud conservative and am proud to be on Napolitan’s list. And I still consider our country Christian/Judaic; not Muslim. How did we get to this mentality? Answer: The White House occupant and his group of liberal socialist followers. Add to that the mainstream driveby press. Unbelievable!
Agree
Black River Wolf (Diary) Friday, June 5th at 2:48PM EST (link)I totally agree

Because the left is so nice
Menlo (Diary) Friday, June 5th at 1:54AM EST (link)Let’s start with the way they were to George Bush. Then we can move to their “kind” treatment of anyone else who disagrees with them.

Must watch-highly recommended
molybdanthan (Diary) Friday, June 5th at 1:58AM EST (link)A real switcheroo you pulled here. I was expecting the guy to really attempt to answer the question. Instead, he offered a great counter to it.
I’ve got another old French guy for you. I was just talking up Frederic Bastiat in some other comments. His book, The Law, came out in 1850, following the French Revolution of 1848, a socialist uprising which was triggered by Karl Marx. Somehow, Marx doesn’t get any credit for it, but it was his first attempt at Social Change.
Bastiat wrote of what he saw happening to his beloved country. And his words need to be read again today.
You can read The Law here:
