LA Times has an article up “Campbell goes dark a week before the primary“.
“With a week before the primary, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tom Campbell has pulled his television advertising and is relying on web ads and telephone calls to drive his message to likely Republican voters.”
The article sites Campbell’s money problems as a big factor in this move. This move is not a big surprise in a state the size of CA where there is no single dominate newspaper and Television advertisements play a huge role at a huge cost.
I don’t look for this to do any good for Cambell’s polling, and I don’t see anyone who planned on voting for him to jump over to DeVore, but we will know what if any effect this move had on the primary in a week.

SteveLA (Diary) Tuesday, June 1st at 10:48PM EST (link)I don’t know, but he is probably in worse shape than Campbell and the Palin endorsement probably did not help with his fund raising.
Fiorina is loaning her campaign a lot of money so in poker terms, she’s buying the pot.

kuksool (Diary) Wednesday, June 2nd at 12:19PM EST (link)With the sniping between Poziner vs Whitman and DeVore vs Fiorina, It will be hard for various GOP factions to unite after the primary. I expect Brown & Boxer to benefit greatly from the internal GOP feuds.
Looks like we've got this one!
SirGladiator (Diary) Wednesday, June 2nd at 6:19PM EST (link)I read something a little while back to this effect, that Campbell may not have enough money to run ads at the end. It looks like we’re gonna win this one, of course it would’ve been nicer if DeVore had been the one to win it, but so long as Campbell doesn’t that means we’ll at least have a chance in November at electing a Conservative for this Senate seat, which is fantastic news! When’s the last time a Conservative had anywhere near this good a chance at winning a major statewide race in California? I’d say Fiorina is the favorite to win in November, polling to the contrary notwithstanding, because Boxer is one of these long term incumbants with an outsider opponent, and that’s the worst position possible to be in this year. Score another victory for Governor (and in a few years President) Sarah Palin, she did an awesome job vanquishing the liberal from this race!
Not sure where you get
conservativecrusade (Diary) Wednesday, June 2nd at 8:55PM EST (link)we will have a conservative by electing Fiorna, would have been better to say we will simply have a less than liberal if she beats Boxer and Campbell. She is many things, but conservative is not one of them. Most conservatives will simply hold their nose when they vote for her and thank God if she beats Campbell and Boxer.
And Palin should be cussed out for not coming behind Chuck DeVore when it mattered and could have changed the course of this election.

He's not dropping out, just broke.
calical Wednesday, June 2nd at 8:27PM EST (link)Campbell is pulling his ads because he can’t afford them, but I don’t see how that’s dropping out. It looks like he’s still trying to win — its just that his campaign isn’t doing so well.
