I have my hip waders on, America. It is getting deep!!

I didn’t catch every interview that President Obama gave on Sunday morning. It was the interview with George Stephanopoulus that disgusted me the most. I almost never agree with George, but I have liked him since the Clinton years. After that interview, I had to sit quietly in disgust for a while. How could George have sat there softballing those questions to President Obama? Journalism is well and truly dead. It took a little while for all of my respect for the non-mainstream media to die yesterday, but dead it well and truly is.

Health insurance is not the same as automobile insurance, but I wish that it were more like my auto coverage. My automobile insurance works in every state that I am in while driving my car. If I’m driving between Texas and Georgia and get into a car wreck in Alabama, my automobile insurance still covers everything in my policy. My automobile insurer doesn’t tell me that I was out of network when I needed help, that I would need a referral from my primary auto mechanic to get service, or that they would only cover 80% of the costs because I was out of network when I needed help. No, USAA simply reminds me what my deductible is and then covers everything else. If I have to move from one state to another, my car insurance is portable and comes with me. I may be charged different rates due to local state regulations, but I can still purchase my car insurance from the company that I have chosen. There is plenty of competition to choose from as well. Some companies are nationwide and some are local, but I get to choose what works best for me and my family from a lot of different companies. In some states, I can even choose to have no auto insurance at all.

The Number One reason that health care in no way equates to automobile insurance is choice. I can choose to drive or not drive. No one forces me by a federal law to drive a car. I can choose to walk, ride a bus, or carpool. I am in no way shape or form required by law to own a car. Once I choose to own a car, in most states I am mandated by law to have insurance. However, I have no choice about having a body or not. When you are born, you are born with a body that I firmly believe you have all rights over and that no government has the right to tell you what to do with it. Women have long said that the government has no right to tell a woman what to do with her body in regards to abortion. I feel like that about health care. The government has no RIGHT to tell me what to do with my own body. My freedoms emanate from God and not from any government. A government that tells me what to do with my body is a tyrannical government that needs to brought up short. A government which dictates what you have to do with your body is an oppressive government that seeks total control and power over you, in short a dictatorship which must be opposed at all costs.

The second glaring piece of the interview was the revival of ‘it all depends on what the definition of is is’. A tax increase of $316.66 per month for uninsured Americans by any other name means that you will be forced to pay the government $316.66 so that you can do your part to make politicians richer and insurance companies richer. George, didn’t your self respect take a ping when the President put you down for asking him about this tax increase? Did you feel Alinsky-ed? With companies already planning on either firing employees or dropping insurance coverage in favor of the cheaper fines thus forcing people onto the government run option, realistically how long will be before most of us are paying that $316.66 per month?

Can you afford another $316.66 expense every month? What will you have to do without in order to pay the federal government so that it can control your body? A government run health insurance option will tell you what medical coverage you can receive, how often you can receive it, and ultimately will tell you when you are no longer a tax producing citizen and need to die so that younger people can get care. Something like that may fly in Communist China where they dictate your entire life to you, but government control of your body has no place in America. It violates my Constitutional rights, my civil rights and my human rights, and I will not be forced to pay the government $316.66 per month to give them rights over my body. My ancestors have spilled too much blood in the name of freedom for me to bow to government control over my body and shame their memories and their struggles which started long before any European set foot onto American soil.

Big government is not the answer. Big government is the problem. Big government has brought you the IRS with all of its compassions; it has brought you the postal service with all of its efficiencies; it has brought you the response to Hurricane Katrina with all of its timeliness. They can pry control of my body out of my cold dead fingers. If the federal government wants total control over me, then they need to stand up for their principles and tell me that to my face. They don’t need to hide behind double speak, innuendo, and Alinsky tactics. They need to be upfront and honest about their intentions. I own my body granted to me by God when I was in the womb. They may take everything else from me, but they will never have control of my body. A higher power already owns my body, so take it up with God. He can always spot the liars and the lies, and he has a special destination for all liars and oppressors.
