If what Obama claims is true, then would you agree or disagree that a reshaping of the agricultural industry is warranted in the best interests of the nation?

Not about Obama, of course, but about the eco nazis. My husband and I work in the ag sector and we have seen legislation proposed that would – is intended to – kill off ‘factory’ farms. An example would be laws pertaining to manure mgmt and clean air THAT ARE ALREADY REGULATED but would be so onerous that the fines would bankrupt these people (think Hormel, Purdue, etc.). When they finally need help, Obama will bail them out – by taking them over. That will include all their land.

Keep you eyes on water. That will be a resource that Obama would have to nationalize/ration in order to control ag completely.

No I am not paranoid and I am not a conspiracy nut. I’ve been watching this come down for years.

The Ag industry does need some major reforming (what doesn’t?), but Obama’s not the one to do it. His policies will only make it worse.

Obama seems determined to halt economic growth in middle America by restricting basic farming practices – probably so that he can legitimize the government takeover of them!

Elitist liberals bent on destroying the backbone of American production don’t seem to realize that millions of Americans aren’t on board with leftist, arrogant illuminati politicians.

If Obama gets his way, the agricultural industry will be outsourced to China where there are zero regulations, and they will do FAR more real, proven, direct, and widespread damage to both the environment and the health and safety of all Americans.

The Leftist’s goal has been and is to centralize the command of and then subjugate (read destroy) production agriculture in the US.
The “progressives” detest those us who produce this nation’s food and fiber. Too free, too Christian, too much private property, and not near enough respect for our betters in Washington or at Earth First, Sierra, etc,,, .
As for AGW – Hoax, like DDT, Alar and several others.
The Earth’s climate is dynamic. Weather is NOT CLIMATE !! Climate is weather usually over large areas – regions if not continents over GEOLOGIC time . That is a fact I learned in 7 th grade decades back but BHO and Socialists allies will lie about anything for power.
Methane ?? Really ?? BHO would know not the Krebs cycle from a unicycle . Solar Flares AARDPIG – um those are ‘sunspots’. Old Sol you know that big yellow thing – it does not run exactly at the same temp. it goes through phases and cycles. The Earth has had( at least) five Ice Ages – Glacial episodes and none of them had anything to do with man so how is it that we puny humans are going to change the climate ??

I would think we could invest in our children’s safety on imported toys with lead,having a responsible agency to monitor this. If not buy it from the USA. When the lead scare forced us to test my child, insurance did deny this $60.00 test.

There are many good & important reasons to bring change to the monolithic agricultural industry that has developed in the U.S.  Obama listed many of them.   If you've been paying attention you have to know change is happening. The organic sector of the food industry is the most rapidly growing for good reason. People don't want to feed their children, their pets, or themselves, poisons. People who grow  & harvest our food should not be exposed to poisons either.
People know they can no longer trust our food supply. How many more e-coli & listeria cases will it take?  Melamine from China was in our pet food  & perhaps in our people food as well.  Contaminated animal feed spreads mad cow disease & who knows what else. Lack of regulation, a hallmark of the Bush administration, has under-mined the entire industry.

Spending money to transport our food thousands of miles when it can be grown locally makes little sense. If we don’t have to worry about how well produce ships we can grow fruits & veggies that taste better & often have higher nutritive value. The number of Farmers’ Markets & CSA Farms is increasing each year. These diverse farms are the opposite of the subsidized & polluting factory farms.
Finally, how can we continue our inhumane practices- abusing sentient creatures to maximize profit ? Change is already upon us. Get on the band wagon. It’s good for all of God’s creatures.

Math teacher – The locally produced idea is fine for some seasonal veggies but that is about as far as it goes . Otherwise there is going to be lots of hungry urban folk most of the year… .
Out sourcing to China ?? That is an ALgore talking point . LOL Problem is that idiot wasn’t kidding .
Fact- The US has the safest most cost effective food production system on the planet !! Bar NONE. No one else is even close. Production agriculture –
food production is highly specialized, capital intensive and it ain’t Green Acres if you get my point.
To restate my first point – The Soviets, Cubans and the North Koreans centrally command ag. production which is EXACTLY where Obama and the Eco-Socialists want to take the US. How well did or do those folks EAT ??
