NYT Newsflash: The people Palin beat don’t like her

NYT: We don't need no stinking balance

Today’s New York Times has a story about Sarah Palin’s critics in Alaska. These are the “facts” that they use in the story:

  • They quote the guy she beat for Mayor of Wasilia.
  • They quote a Democratic city council member who says that Palin did something but doesn’t corroborate. The person who could have corroborated refused to comment.
  • They note a guy who she fired and who sued and lost his lawsuit over wrongful termination.

In other words, they interview people she beat. Funny. They don’t like her. Politics ain’t beanbag. I suspect that Barack Obama knows that too.

The only person they quote who isn’t directly hostile because they lost a political battle to her is her Deputy Mayor who just seems to punt.

Now, this is a woman with astronomical approval ratings. Don’t you think that the New York Times could find at least one person who would defend her? I mean… She won a primary for Governor based, in part, on her record in Wasilia. They could have tried, at least, right?

Give me a break. This isn’t news. This isn’t honest. This is just the New York Times in full attack mode. And the “newspaper of record” should be ashamed of itself for publishing it. And William Yardley should be ashamed for writing it.

You seem surprised by this?

I’m not at all. The pundits last week were pushing two editorials in Alaskan newspaper as fact that she wasn’t up to task of being VP.

Two editorials. And passing them off as actual news stories worthy of some type of recognition. I was dumbfounded, although by that point I really should’ve expected it.

Three front page stories about her daughter’s pregnancy yesterday and now
this? I’m shocked!

They get what they deserve:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/24/business/24times.html

The company’s newspapers recorded a drop of 11.8 percent, to $427.6 million, in combined print and online advertising revenue in the quarter, including a 17.8 percent fall in June — a dismal showing, yet better than average for the industry.

How can this be?

So the people Palin beat don’t like her?

Well, here’s a news flash for the NYT: In 1945, the Japanese didn’t like the United States Marine Corps.

Go figure.

NYT Has No Shame

It seems as if they have given up all pretense of honest journalism. And it seems to have happened many years ago.

Good storyline tgharris.

NYT has really raised the bar in national broadcasting.

Actually, I see this article as the NYT inadvertently helping Palin

civil truth (Diary) Wednesday, September 3rd at 9:42AM EST (link)

Yes, the author thought he (she?) was quite clever finding all her critics. But instead what comes through loud and clear is the Sarah is a tough, no-nonsense reformer who has the will and determination to clean out the old-guard and deadwood.

Also, the article indicate general agreement that Sarah she matured during her tenure and implicitly that her effectiveness improved. That’s a net positive evaluation of a first time office holder.

This portrait thus meshes well with the maverick & reformer, doing away with business as usual theme that the McCain campaign has inaugurated. Good reinforcement there.

Moreover, a swing voter reading this should conclude someone who makes as many enemies in the right place as she did has got to be doing something right.

So please, bring on more botched hit jobs like this, NYT.

The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis

Politics ain’t beanbag. I suspect that Barack Obama knows that too.

One problem… Obama’s a Chicago machine Democrat. He hasn’t lost, he doesn’t expect to lose. He’s basically epitomizing the mentality that Father Pfleger projected upon HRC, that aura of entitlement.

Big Surprise

radar9597 (Diary) Wednesday, September 3rd at 10:04AM EST (link)

I am wondering when the NYT or any other major news outlet will do a story about all Barack Obama’s allies….Ayers, Rezco, etc…..

Maybe President Obama can fix this

Pelosi’s visit to Hiroshima last week got me wondering whether President Obama would offer a formal apology as a prelude to discussions about reparations.

Campbell Brown's Father is Dem State Senator

Spartan4Life (Diary) Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:50AM EST (link)

For those of you who don’t know, Brown’s father is a Democrat State Senator in Louisiana(maybe he’ll run for president next). I guess that makes her the perfect hack to be a reporter for CNN. Her so called “reporting” on this campaign has been nothing short of despicable.

If you haven’t seen this video of her interviewing Taylor Bounds from the McCain campaign watch it here. BTW, McCain was going to go on Larry King but after her performance in this interview they pulled it. Good for them.

Brown is a witch

THANK YOU for taking the time to disassemble one more ‘Slimes’ hit piece.

NO, the MSM will never give a break to any conservative.

Our only hope is to not drink that liberal kool-aid — and with your good efforts — all I can hope for is to just pass along the basic truths omitted from MSM smear jobs like this one.

Don't forget the Wicked Witch of Wasilla

BoatFoot (Diary) Wednesday, September 3rd at 6:01PM EST (link)

She has been quoted many times and often relating to Palin being unqualified.

State Senate President Lyda Green known as the Wicked Witch of Wasilla by her own constituents, has said many things about hometown rival Sarah Palin due to her jealousy and anger as Palin has fired or beaten alot of her friends and mentors over the years.

http://newsminer.com/news/2008/jun/13/alaska-senate-president-lyda-green-withdraws-re-el/

“State Senate president Lyda Green (R – Wasilla) has announced she does not plan to run for re-election. Green, who represents the Mat-Su Valley, cited her discovery that her constituents are supporting Governor Palin’s AGIA natural gas pipeline process, which she opposes. Green did not make herself available to comment on her decision. Green was to face Linda Menard – an ardent Palin supporter – in the August GOP primary.”
