As commenter “John Florida” pointed out at It’s About Liberty, it’s not just the arrogance of this man that is staggering. It is the ignorance.

What does Lord Obama think will happen to that “trade in”? Does he think it will just evaporate, or wait quietly to die in the SUV nursing home, forever shamed by the fuel consumption of its youth?

Of course, the American people know that in a non-Cash-for-Clunkers world, the vehicle will enter the used vehicle market and someone else will drive it, being bled dry by the price of gasoline that Obama has admitted bluntly he’d like to see escalate in order to feed his social engineered Utopia.

How economical were the jets that flew Michelle and her entourage to Spain or Pelosi back and forth to the left coast every week for six years. When I was young there were nine of us including my parents and Grandmother. When we went anywhere the six kids got in the back seat with some on laps and some on the floor. Today we would be arrested for that. A family with ten children HAS to drive an enormous SUV like a Suburban to fit all the car seats because of Federal & State laws. By the way Mr. President, there are no current hybrid minivans.

That is … this CLUNKER of a President.

Not everyone wants to put their families in government approved tinfoil deathtraps. Obama certainly doesn’t.

To the gallon? – There are two issues here, as always, and , as always Conservatives can’t wait to pounce.
I am a Conservative but try to consider what has really been said vs. knee jerk reactions. Despite the desire to cast Obama as insensitive snob impervious to the woes and tribulation of us common folk. There is a point here.
If you examine the issue and the issue is to reduce the cost of filling up one’s car (given Prez O. lacks the good judgment to not guffaw at our plight and buy a new car – there is a point and we here in America are gobbling up far too much gas and expect it to be very cheap whereas in other countries it is not as affordable as it is here.
Given the inevitable decline in the supply of oil we should consider not leaving behind a bunch of empty wells for our childrens children just so you can drive your 8 mile per gallon or even 20 miles per gallon is a waste.
Buying a new , more gas efficient car, might be a solution if more people had jobs and the economy was doing better. However, there is the issue of climate change. NOT GLOBAL WARMING but climate change.
I realize too many Conservatives prefer to believe it does not exist – keep deluding yourselves that it doesn’t and keep the faith baby that you have the RIGHT to drive around as big a gas guzzling car as you wish.
A Conservative Tenet is called – unintended consequences. Does anyone who is a conservative ever actually think before they spout off against what someone of the opposite political party says?
It seems people have mostly forgotten to think before speaking.
Is there such a thing within Conservatives that they actually examine our Principles and Tenets to determine if perhaps we are not being hypocritical?

Trade it in ? You going to make the payments on a new car for me Obama ? Remember voters thought YOU promised them a new stove, a morgage paid by the govt., a well paying job for someone with a 5th grade education, on & on. They are still waiting but will probably vote for you again anyway. We had a Constitution until you came along !
