Republican Governors Association Video: Remember November

I was going to submit this without comment, because the video speaks for itself. However, it appears that the video is even more effective than I first thought. Allahpundit at Hot Air notes that Time Magazine (I know. I was surprised to learn that it’s still in  publication, too) is already frothing at the mouth over the ad. Apparently, according to Time Magazine, the ad means that Republican Governors are paying “homage to Guy Fawkes.”  If you have the stomach for it, go read the comments over at that article post. They are extra delusional! Says Time:

The Republican Governors Association has embraced the symbolism of Fawkes, launching a rather striking website, RememberNovember.com, with a video that showcases far more Hollywood savvy than one can usually expect from Republicans. Again, the Fawkes tale has been twisted a bit. This time, President Obama plays the roll of King James, the Democratic leadership is Parliament, and the Republican Party represents the aggrieved Catholic mass.

Sigh. They are even wrong about the snide “Hollywood savvy” part; the Daily Caller reports the ad was done in house by young staffers.

We Will Remember from Republican Governors Association on Vimeo.

Awesome. To me, it brings to mind my new favorite quote from a sign at a recent tea party rally:

“I can see November from my house.”

Well done, RGA. Well done.

The red V’s do bear a resemblance. Not that I give a rat’s behind because I loathe the Social Democrat party of Obama/Pelosi/Reid and can’t wait for November to rid ourselves of them.

“In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” – Thomas Jefferson

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” – James Madison

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience.” — John Locke, 1690

I think the "V"

between now and November. Arizona is helping with their new immigration bill and with requiring proof of citizenship for all candidates. Who else? Texas? I don’t trust THIS Republican party. I need to see results before November before I vote for ANY incumbent.

I guess the staffers hopes that ppl will forget who is to blame for the financial crisis or when it started. Tip: it wasn’t President Obama.

I’m a moby, so I say ‘we’ when I mean ‘you.’

True, but Senator Dodd is retiring...

…and you can’t really base a national campaign on Rep. Frank.

Now shoo.

*wiping tear*. Moe, that was beautiful

Actually Bill Clinton played a big role in this mess

He singed the Financial Services Modernization Act and Commodity Futures Modernization Act, he also allowed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to abandon traditional banking standards. This resulted in lower down payments and more sub prime mortgages (which is still happening by the way). The lower standards for mortgages were suposed to allow for “more affordable housing.

Instead the price of housing became artificially high (so much for affordable housing) and we had the huge bubble burst combined with the effects of the two laws stated above. In 2001 befire 9/11 George W. Bush declared that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were leading us to disaster. Democrats and some republicans blocked putting restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

I hope thes young republican staffers do shine the light on the causes of the financial crisis. We know the media won’t. There is a column on this on Newsbusters.

Great Video

However, it does put me in the uncomfortable position of defending Al Sharpton. The people who made this video edited his remarks to make it appear that he declared Obama was socialist. If you listen to the entire comment, he was defending Obama against charges of socialism.

I don’t like Al Sharpton, but I like Michael Moore half-truth tactics even less, and I don’t think we need to be using them to make a point. There’s enough wrong with Obama as it is. We don’t need to twist the words of a race-baiting windbag to help our cause.

Good video.

“I can see November from my house!”

It cracked me up when I saw that sign on a Fox news report, and I loved the reminder in this post. :)
