So true, too true.

Fortunately, I was a victim of the Tonsil Reapers. After repeated rounds of sore throats, doctor visits and antibiotics, they ripped the little red vixens right out of my throat. Boo hoo. I’ve been remarkably healthy ever since.

Has anyone in the administration bothered to add up the cost of repeated visits to the pediatrician, repeated rounds of antibiotics (that, help build resistance and lower their effectiveness) and loss of wages for working parents of children with chronic or almost chronic tonsillitis? (And, no, I’m not in the health care industry, so I don’t profit from tonsillectomies except insofar as the health benefits I received from my own.)

For the average worker, this means that anything he can get his employer to pay for as a bennie costs him only 50 to 75 cents on a dollar. (Figure in both sides of payroll tax as well as income tax.) He’s willing to get greater benefits than he would pay for on his own, because he still comes out ahead. Simply giving him an income tax break still tags him with payroll taxes, which, for lower income earners is the highest rate they pay.

McCain’s solution, pay tax on your wages but get a government check to cover your insurance, still has the worker wanting to pad the insurance to get as big a check as he can. Besides, if you’re going to send a government check to every household, you might as well go for the Fair Tax.

No, I don’t mean to make light of hair loss and chemotherapy side effects. I am a nurse and certainly understand. Your diary is great and based on…Common Sense. Something lacking for the liberal Dems. And to those of us of have had the good fortune to have children (and Obama is included in that), doctors haven’t been taking out tonsils(except rarely) for several decades. What used to be the norm changed out a long time ago. Modern medicine found that people did better warding off respiratory aliments by keeping their tonsils, instead of losing them-to the money hungry doctors.

Do you think you could just leave him in the corner for the next
3 1/2 yrs.?
