Sorry for the tardy comment here but it occurred to me that BHO graduated from college in 1983, just as Mondale was revving up for his coronation that turned into a decimation. Obama “came of age” at the very moment in history in which he is stuck. Like so many “intellectuals” on the left, he imbibed the propaganda du jour that he received from his professors and never allowed reality to budge his perceptions from that day forward. In short, he was the perfect student, at least in the eyes of the typical professor. All this would be merely sad if not for the fact that this man is supposed to lead the most powerful nation the world has ever seen in the midst of a generations long war.

as said above, as usual. It’s good to hear from someone who has connections to Eastern Europeans. I know that the next presidential elections are a long long 3 years out. Do the Eastern Eupopeans understand that even many many Americans have serious doubts about the Obama Administration, and their policies. Do they know that many many are rising up against not only Obamacare, but, also against the entire Administration’s policies because we know what weak position he is putting us in? The Eastern Europeans have serious reason to doubt Obama, but they must understand that we have as many serious doubs within our citizenry. I fear that they will not be there for us when we fight the move to Communism.

I know you asked, a long time ago, about my Marine son, Becker. He got promoted to Master Sergeant on 1 August. He’s with 2/3 Weapons Co., in Afghanistan right now, due home next month.

There is nothing good in this move by Obama. Interesting your identifying the similarity of the “presidency that never was.” Even during the soft questioning during the campaign, I thought Obama’s answers were suspect. Just lip service. Eastern Europe has been waiting to see the course the U.S. would set with the new administration. Now they know. No good can come of this for them or us.

as always. Lately some of my friends and I have been musing on the Russian situation and just between ourselves, we have been wondering how much of the renewed Russian agression is because of the Nabucco pipeline you wrote about a while ago. I read a piece last week, I don’t remember who wrote it, and the case was made that the invasion of Georgia was a ruse to put the Ukranians on the back foot and undermine the Yushchenko presidency. What are your thoughts?

I have a son in Air Force ROTC. And to make matters better, he’s at a college that has a contract with the Chinese government train thier student pilots.

He’s starting to wonder how many of his classmates he’s going to end up flying against.

and it’s not going to get any safer as long as this ornament is President. Looks like no more troops to Afghanistan. We’ll just let the soldiers and Marines who are there bleed out and declare that we never should have gone in and bring the remanent home.

Every day I’m more relieved that my Marine son is now a civilian. His unit is headed for Afghanistan.

While I agree with the article, we should not forget Obama’s similarity to George McGovern. With all of Mondale’s faults I don’t believe he disliked this country. McGovern, on the other hand did seem to blame the US for all the world’s problems. He was hostile to the military (despite being a WWII bomber pilot), wanted to give $1000 to everyone and put a cap of $500,000 as a salary limit.
McGovern was said to stand for “Amnesty (for draft dogers), Abortion and Acid” Obama can be said to stand for Amnesty (for illegals), Abortion and Ant-Acid (govt. health care).
Obama combines the worst aspects of Mondale & McGovern.

Are you referring to only one sellout or the batch of sellouts perpetrated with every foreign policy disaster The One creates, the scrapping of missile defense only being the latest event in a series.

While the cave-in to Putin and Russia is arguably the most dangerous, I would not be surprised if at least half of The One’s reason was to curry favor with the ignorant class (HATEBUSHIES).

Sometimes I credit Obama with knowing the consequences of his decisions and sometimes I think he arbitrarily swings with his puppet strings.

I was waiting for you to chime in on what may prove to be our “Munich.” You attribute better intentions to him than I do. I don’t think it is the starry-eyed liberalism of Mondale that motivates him and the people around him. I think he’s the pig wearing lipstick that’s disguising a bunch of very hardcore communists who have eliminating the US as a counterpoise to the expansion of the communist sphere as their objective.
