I am always pleased to hear and read of the victories of our exceptional armed forces, especially the Navy of which I am a veteran.

Our ships are now steel, aluminum and exotic composites instead of oak, but the sailors inside are the pointy end of many of America's strongest spears.

This was a new one for me, since it wasn't much covered in my Navy History training, but I will now never forget it and now must go see this place for myself.

Thanks again.

As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where I spent many an hour in MacDonough and Preble Halls, I've never had a more informative lecture on the history from which they take their name.

Thank you for writing this to remind us of the exceptionalism of our country and our armed forces.
