In my previous Diary I laid out some Strategies for Victory in 2012, and I want to thank everyone who read it as well as those who provided useful comments. In this, the second part of my ‘Strategy for Victory’ series, I would like to point out some interesting facts that most folks here probably haven’t heard yet, facts that I hope you will find as interesting and useful as I do.

For starters, we always hear a lot about how ‘third parties divide the vote and cost us elections’, and thats generally true, that sucks, but did you know that, thanks to the power of the 10th Amendment, there’s a perfect example out there of how to actually turn 3rd parties into an ADVANTAGE for us? That may sound crazy at first, until you hear what I’m about to tell you. In the state of Georgia, they have a system that should be a model for Conservatives and Republicans nationwide, a system that involves Runoff elections for major races (I don’t know how far down the ballot it goes, I don’t live there, but obviously the more the better) in which no candidate gets a majority. So imagine that the Democrat and the Republican are tied at 47 percent, there’s 1 percent left to come in, and oh darn it went for the Democrat. Thanks to the Libertarian candidate getting 5 percent of the right-leaning vote, we lost, darn that sucks! But wait, because we have a Runoff rule in place, that means that in a few weeks we’ll have another vote, with just the Democrat and just the Republican. And here’s the HUGE bonus: Runoffs HEAVILY favor Conservatives and Republicans, because they always disproportionately show up for runoff elections! In Georgia I don’t know how long exactly they’ve had the Runoff law, but its well over a decade at least, and in that time LITERALLY EVERY RACE that has gone to runoff, regardless of who led on the night of the General, has been won by the Republican! Every race! Georgia has truly given Conservatives and Republicans a model for vicotry across America, and I hope that every state that is now controlled by Republicans (and there are a lot of them now) will pass a similar law, allowing for Runoffs for any race in which no candidate gets a majority of the vote. As a practical example, such a law would’ve come in extremely handy in Colorado this year, its incredibly likely that Ken Buck would’ve won a runoff, if they’d had this law there.

Of course in passing a new Runoff law in various states where we now control the Legislatures and Governorships, we can easily, and accurately, sell this change as an issue of fairness and reasonableness. After all, is it honestly a good idea to have a Representative of the People be elected by a minority of the voters, if such a result can be so easily avoided? Its only right that a Representative, whether he be a Governor, a Senator, or anyone else the law might apply to, have the support of a majority of the voters who actually show up to vote. Also, as perhaps a more practical matter, there are a ton of folks (myself included) who find voting to be a Patriotic and just plain fun activity, we enjoy going and doing our civic duty then going home and watching to see if our guy or gal has won. This would give people like us an extra opportunity to do that, and we’d be willing to support such a law on just that point alone .

Now, while its nice to have a law that allows us to win more of the close races, an even better way to win such races is simply to get the most votes in the General Election in the first place. To that end, I’d like to mention a really interesting fact, one that I saw when looking through the Exit Polling, and I haven’t heard it mentioned on TV at all. No doubt you’ve heard that Sharon Angle lost badly among Hispanic voters in Nevada, and you may have also heard that at the same time, the GOP candidate for Governor, who became the state’s first Hispanic Governor, won his race against Harry Reid’s son, in a landslide. You might think that proves the answer is a simple one, nominate a Hispanic candidate and the candidate will win the Hispanic vote and win the State in a landslide. There’s just one important problem with that theory, as nice as it would be if it were true, and the problem is the actual numbers themselves. While Sharon Angle lost the Hispanic vote 68-30, the new GOP Governor, Sandoval, ALSO LOST the Hispanic vote in a LANDSLIDE, 64-33. He literally gained just THREE PERCENT of the Hispanic vote by being Hispanic, and by not being Sharon Angle. That is a stunning number to me, I don’t know how anybody would even attempt to explain that, I haven’t heard anybody mention it, but it’s incredibly relevant. For those who think running a Hispanic candidate is going to be all we need to do to win the Hispanic vote, this really tells us all to ‘think again’, because this was not only a candidate running to become the first Hispanic Governor of New Mexico, but this was a just plain darn good candidate. Whatever you want to say about Angle good or bad, she wasn’t anywhere near as effective a candidate as this guy, he was the real deal, he totally owned his opponent. And yet even so, his share of the Hispanic vote was only slightly better than Angle’s. He only won the election because he won the white vote 62-32 while Angle won it 53-41, it wasn’t because of his appeal to the Hispanic voters at all. If we’re going to win the Hispanic vote in future elections, we’re going to need a different strategy, and I have an idea that just might work. More importantly, I believe its a really good policy that would do a lot of good if implemented. This is what it is.

We’ve all heard stories, positive and negative, out of Afghanistan and Iraq. We all know that we’ve done a heck of a lot of good over there, we’ve kicked the terrorists out of power in Afghanistan, and Hussein out of power in Iraq. We’ve killed tons and tons of terrorists, we’ve got them on the run bigtime. We’ve also heard a lot of negative stories lately out of Mexico, about how drug gangs are killing lots of innocent people, how they’re even crossing the border and killing Americans, kidnapping Ameicans, they basicly are terrorists themselves, simply by a different name and for a different cause, that cause being their own selfishness and greed and personal evil. My suggestion is to take our troops, which have owned the terrorists overseas, and bring them back home and send them into Mexico to wipe out the drug gangs. Leave enough troops in Afghanistan and Iraq to prevent the terrorists from taking over, and bring the rest over here where they’re needed even more right now, to kill these evil gangsters. I believe that by doing this we’ll accomplish a bunch of things at once, each of them extremely positive for either political reasons, practical reasons, or both. First the political, we’ll gain the support of those who like the idea of most of our troops leaving the middle east and going somewhere closer to home. We’ll especially find favor amongst the Hispanic voters, who will appreciate us for being willing to sacrifice the lives of American soldiers, as well as American treasure, for their friends/family in Mexico. On the practical side, once we send in our army and wipe out those drug gangs Mexico will be a safe place to live in/travel to/vacation in again, its economy will zoom back up, and most importantly Americans, as well as Mexicans, on both sides of the border will be safe again. Its just going to make everything so much better, and everybody’s going to benefit from that, completely aside from the political considerations.

I do believe that being the Party that is willing to take powerful action to wipe out those evil drug gangs will result in gaining a significant increase in the Hispanic vote, probably a majority. Also worth noting is that its such a VASTLY superior idea compared to doing what the GOP Establishment always wants to do to try to get the Hispanic vote, which of course is amnesty, a just horrible idea and I think that’s obvious to pretty much everybody here. However even if this idea unexpectedly fails to gain the major support among Hispanics that you’d think it would get, kind’ve like poor Sandoval in Nevada failed so epicly to get Hispanics to support him in his bid to become their state’s first Hispanic Governor, it’s still the right thing to do, something that will help Mexico tremendously, and America as well. And of course after its all done, if things aren’t going as well as we’d like in Afghanistan and/or Iraq, and we need to send some or all of the troops back there, obviously we could do that. If everything’s still going well over there, then our troops get to finally come home, having won THREE wars, and made their Country incredibly proud, as well as incredibly safe, and they’ll come home as heroes not just to Americans but to Mexicans as well.

Now, let’s say that you agree that my idea is a good one. You might be thinking that it isn’t possible to actually accomplish until after the 2012 Elections. But that’s not entirely accurate. The Constitution of the United States provides Congress the power to declare war. If the House of Representatives, which we now control, were to pass a Resolution declaring war on the drug gangs, and ordering the President to send those troops to destroy them, that would be a world-wide news event. Could the Senate, or the President, somehow ignore something like that? It wouldn’t be possible. Of course even if we somehow managed to pass it through the Senate as well the President would have the power of the veto (I assume declarations of war are eligible for a veto, I don’t know if one has ever been vetoed before), but if he did he would likely be on the wrong side of the VAST majority of the American People, and this close to an election I don’t think he’d be willing to do that. So as a practical matter I’d say if we pass it in the House there’s a really excellent chance that it becomes law, and thus American Foreign Policy.

I believe that if our State Legislatures follow the first idea I outlined in this Diary, and if our US House of Representatives follows the second idea, then we will be well on our way to a great victory in 2012. Of course there are other important Strategic ideas for Victory as well, and I will be touching on more of them in the next part of this series.

Tuesday night was a night of great victory, yet for myself, and I imagine most of you as well, it was bittersweet, as some of our favorites went down to defeat. I believe it is important to learn from what we did right, as well as what we did wrong, and move forward smarter and stronger than ever, so that we can do even better in 2012.

Let’s start with a general lay of the land. We control the House, and we do so with a very nice margin. We won’t know the exact margin for some time, but we know it’s sufficient to pass a good solid Conservative agenda. We also know that, because the Senate is still controlled by the Democrats by a bit, and because Obama is still the President, that Conservative agenda probably won’t end up becoming law, at least not without some kind of compromise. The Government is still 2/3 Democratic, but we control the power of the pursestrings. No spending bill can originate except in the House. If we don’t fund Obamacare, it doesn’t get funded. If we don’t increase spending, it doesn’t get increased.

Therefore the first major order of business for our side, is coming up with a Budget. This budget will never become law, that isn’t the point, the point is that since we control the People’s House, it is our responsibility to lay out before both the Democrats in Washington, and more importantly the American People, exactly what kind of Government we believe in. It is possible that the budget we lay out in 2011 will become a major issue in the Presidential campaign of 2012. Therefore it is important that Speaker Boehner hold meetings with all potential Presidential candidates, getting their input and sharing his vision with each of them, in an open minded and nonbiased way, because whoever becomes our Party’s standard-bearer will need to run ‘with’ Speaker Boehner and the House’s budget priorities, not against them.

Another thing we must focus on is Election Strategy. We need more co-operation between the Party leaders and the Tea Party leaders, so that we can all agree on the strongest candidate in a given state or district, and avoid the bruising primary fights that cost us so dearly. For example, Christine O’Donnell was leading Chris Coons as late as June or July, before the Delaware GOP and the Castle campaign engaged in an incredibly vicious negative campaign, a campaign that didn’t fool most Republicans, but did fool enough Independents and liberal Republicans to cost us the seat in the fall. Had we been able to clear the field for Christine, or at least gotten Castle and the Delaware GOP to stick to a positive campaign on the issues, and then endorse her after she beat him, we would have won in Delaware. Clearly working together to keep Crist in the Governor’s mansion and Rubio as our Senate nominee would’ve made everything much smoother, although happily in Florida everything worked out nicely in the end anyway. Also in Nevada, if we could’ve all gotten behind Angle early she wouldn’t have been bankrupt after the Primary, when Reid spent who knows how many millions of dollars on negative ads, turning her double digit lead into a defecit. Of course Colorado was another bruising primary that cost us dearly in a super-close race, if Buck had avoided that fight and saved his money he surely would’ve won in November, and not only would we have Senator Buck today, but Governor Norton as well. That fight cost us very dearly indeed.

Another important element of strategy is the Ground game. We desperately need to get back to what we had in the Bush years, an unprecedently awesome ground game. I’m not quite sure whose idea it was to stop doing what we were doing so well, but we definitely need to get back to it, it’s an incredibly important part of any campaign, certainly you need look no further than Nevada to see that. Angle’s lead in the polls was erased by a superior ground game by Harry Reid and the Unions, that should never have happened. Especially in a year like this, when our enthusiasm advantage was so huge, to lose huge ground on Election Day is completely inexcusable, and it bodes very ill indeed for any year, including 2012, when our enthusiasm advantage might be less high than the awesome heights of this year.

In future posts I will go into more detail on specific issues and the strategies associated with them. For now, let me share an interesting piece of trivia with all of you. Most of you may have already heard it, but if you haven’t, it’s a good one, you’ll like it. As you know Obama became the first President in a very long time to lose the House but not the Senate. You may agree that he has a lot in common with the previous President to do so. That President? Herbert Hoover.

In the last few days, since Christine O’Donnell won that glorioous upset-victory over the liberal GOP Establishment, its been pretty much all positive for her and the Tea Party that supported her. She’s raised a tremendous amount of money, she immediately saw her 16 point defecit cut to 11 points, she’s had tons and tons of positive media attention, pretty much everything has gone her way, other than that dumb move to cancel Sunday Talk show appearances, hopefully she will bring in some new, more professional campaign people who would never make a dumb mistake like that, and who will also get her on shows like O’Reilly and Greta.

Another major development of course is that her opponent, Chris Coons, has been revealed not only as a fellow who has run up a major defecit despite imposing a massive tax increase on the People, but he in fact described himself as a Marxist. As if all that weren’t enough, Senator Harry Reid has referred to Coons as ‘my favorite candidate’ and ‘my pet’, that latter comment reportedly will be showing up (if it hasn’t already) in ads paid for by Senator Jim DeMint’s group to the tune of a quarter-million dollars. In contrast, the DSCC is spending money on behalf of Coons, perhaps even more ‘effectively’ than Castle’s campaign did, and by ‘effectively’ I mean with hilarious stupidity. As you may recall, Castle basicly attacked O’Donnell as not rich enough for the US Senate, highlighting her past financial difficulties, and suggesting that he, the limosine liberal, would never have those difficulties. Apparently the DSCC is doing the exact same thing in their own ads, only there’s a kicker, they’re actually not just attacking Christine, but themselves as well!

I’d like to quote the liberal website ‘Swing State Project’ who said it better than I could, be prepared to laugh when you read what a liberal thinks of the DSCC’s latest Delaware ad campaign: “DSCC ad says Christine O’Donnell will “fit right in in Washington,” thanks to her personal fiscal irresponsibility. Uh, do they remember who is in charge in DC?” As funny, and true, as their question was, there’s another point that the Elites of both parties are missing also. Of course the point that the DSCC, and the Castle folks before them, missed is that it isn’t ‘financial irresponsibility’ to have bills you can’t pay when you simply don’t make the kind of money that these limosine liberals make. Sure, if you make a million dollars a year then yes, not paying your taxes or not paying your mortgage is total financial irresonsibility. But when you make 5800 dollars a year (as I think I read recently that’s what she made last year) its more like she’s a financial genius for not having to totally declare bankruptcy at some point.

Of course the most recent ‘controversy’ surrounds not her lack of wealth, but her misbehavior in High School. The fact that she ‘dabbled in witchcraft’ back then has been the talk of the media for the last couple days. This too invites the narrative to be painted quite favorably for Christine in that she can say (as Dick Morris noted on Hannity), basicly ‘Yes I had some friends that were into witchcraft a long time ago, but my opponent has friends that are into big taxes and big spending now’. Thats quite a stark difference in relevancy for a US Senate seat, and the comparisons just write themselves. It also of course invites bringing up the whole Marxist thing as well, as O’Reilly did last night.

With the huge financial advantage, the huge campaign-narrative advantage of a strong Conservative vs a big taxing, big defecit-spending Marxist, it’s really only a matter of time until the polls show not just a dramatic tightening of the race, but in fact of Christine going back into the lead, a lead she had not that long ago, it was only about 2 months ago that she had a 41-39 lead over Coons. Obviously the fact that the DSCC is already running ads on behalf of Coons tells you everything you need to know about whether they think Christine ‘can win’ or not. They’re scared of Christine, I’ve heard that Olberman spent a whole show last week on Christine, and just last night spent the first 25 minutes of his show on her. Happily for me, I did not see either of those shows, so I’m relying on second hand information there . But assuming its true, it certainly shows how seriously they’re taking her candidacy. A win for Christine in a supposedly ‘safe’ for Democrats state like Delaware will go a very long way indeed to proving what some of us already know, that Conservatism is popular, that the Tea Party is Mainstream, and that the American People are sending a clear message in favor of Conservative Change in November!

We all heard the outrageous, inexcusable comments last night by Karl Rove, and the NRSC. We know that the GOP Establishment ran radio and TV ads, wrote articles, etc etc attacking her for her personal financial problems during the Primary. It seems to me that Christine should wear the scorn of the Establishment as a Badge of Honor. She’s raising unbelievable amounts of money today from the People, not the powerful, not the establishment, not the elites. She has the People behind her, and I think that’s exactly the basis of the strategy she should use. This strategy I’m going to suggest is something that a professional politician, especially a democrat, would see as the most obvious thing in the world, they would use it, and they would win with it. This is what it is.

Basicly, she should use the criticisms of the Establishment and turn them into a positive. Not simply ‘the establishment hates me, therefore vote for me’, thats not a bad message in and of itself in a year like this, but no, there’s more, so very much more. Use the SPECIFIC attacks of the establishment, turn them all into positives. Embrace the so-called ‘flaws’ of her candidacy. A campaign message along the lines of “I’m just like you, I’ve had to work hard just to pay my bills, and I haven’t always been able to. I almost lost my home, I couldn’t always pay my taxes on time, I couldn’t afford to pay the high costs of college. I understand what you’re going through because I’ve gone through it too, and when I’m in Washington I’m going to be working for you, not the special interests. The Establishment of both parties look down on people like you and me, you’ve seen the ads they ran against me, attacking me simply because I’ve had financial problems. They don’t understand that having financial problems doesn’t make you a bad person, it just makes you a normal person. I do understand, and if you elect me I’ll do everything in my power make things better for people like you and me. I won’t be a part of the Establishment, because they hate me, and believe me the feeling is mutual. When I go to Washington my only interest will be in how I can tear the Establishment of both parites down and build the People back up.” Of course how to take all that and put it into a 30 second ad, that’s the tricky part . But I’m sure it can be done, and done quite effectively.

I believe this strategy could result in not just a victory for Christine O’Donnell but a landslide victory. Of course there’s room for criticism of the opposition also, I don’t really know very much about the Democrat in the race and I imagine most Delaware voters know very little to nothing about him also. Ive heard the phrase ‘bearded marxist’ used, apparently at one time he used it to describe himself. I’m sure there’s plenty of things they can attack him on, and no doubt they should attack his most extreme views and comments. But this race is, and should be, about Christine O’Donnell. Of course if she doesn’t address her critics head on then yes, her best path to victory is to go negative, and this guy is probably liberal enough to beat with just a strategy like that alone. But if she follows the strategy that I laid out, I believe her negatives will become positives, and she won’t even have to mention her opponent’s name at any point.

Christine O’Donnell is a hero to much of Conservative America, including many in Delaware, because she led the Tea Party revolt against the GOP Establishment in Delaware. If she follows the strategy I have laid out, I believe she will be the hero of most Delaware voters, including most Independents and a great many Democrats as well. I hope that she takes advantage of this incredible opportunity that she has to rise above politics as usual, an opportunity that the Establishment has inadvertently handed to her on a silver platter.

I was reading one of the many, many articles about the Delaware GOP Senate Primary, this one from Politico, and this particular article featured an interview with Mike Castle. The real scoop of the story was buried near the end of the article, the reporter asked Mike Castle if he would support Christine O’Donnell if she wins the Primary. This is his answer “That’s very hypothetical, and I will answer it at some point in the future. If it were to happen, I would look at that. As you know, this has not been a very pleasant experience for anybody, and the concept of supporting one another in this circumstance is going to be difficult for anyone to reach” thats the exact quote from Politico. To me the first part of that statement, ‘I will answer it at some point in the future.’ suggests he realizes he’s likely about to lose. Then he says he would ‘look at it’. Clearly he’s open to the possibility of endorsing her, that is, after all, what ‘look at it’ means, it means he would consider it. He basicly seems to be saying, particularly at the end of the quote, that it will be hard for him to do it, and he would like for her to reach out to him and make it easier for him to endorse her, if she wins. We all know that the only way Christine can lose this race is if the RINOs don’t fall in line behind the nominee of the Party. If Castle were to endorse Christine her victory in November is virtually a slam dunk.

Therefore I want to publicly encourage Christine O’Donnell herself, to personally make a phone call to Mike Castle the day after the Primary. Presumably Mike will make the concession call the night of the vote, don’t ask for his endorsement then, congratulate him on his many years in public service and let him sleep on the results, let him have some time to get over the disappointment of the loss. Call him personally the next day and graciously ask him if there’s anything you can do to earn his support. He is an Establishment man, a man of the system, it would do his sense of honor good to endorse you. If you give him an excuse to do so, he will happily do it. In short, treat him with respect, and he will do the same for you. Of course it goes without saying that should he win the Primary, you must do the same for him.

The time for argument, debate, all the back and forth, it’s come and it’s gone. The time has come now for us all to get on the same page. Castle has been sinking, O’Donnell has been surging, and neither candidate would be a ‘sure thing’ in November. That is, unless we have unity. If the loser endorses the winner, then it is pretty much a sure thing, the winner of the Primary wins in November. If that doesn’t happen, then its just wide open, anybody’s guess what happens. But if we do have Party Unity, victory is all but assured. So please, to Christine and all her supporters, don’t spike the ball on the Star on Election Night. Hand the ball to the referee, and shake your opponent’s hand. And of course, if the late polling from the Tea Party and then PPP is somehow totally wrong and Castle ends up winning, it would be nice to have some kind, sympathetic words from Castle and the RINOs who love him so much, we O’Donnell fans would surely need them .

I’ve been seeing a lot of scared comments by RINOs lately, scared that they’re going to lose the seat they thought they were going to win in Delaware, just like they did in Alaska. Its easy to see from their perspective, just look at it their way for a second, a RINO is always better than a Conservative, a RINO is more likely to win than a Conservative, and besides those Conservatives are just a bunch of Christians who aren’t very bright anyway, so best to keep them as far away from our Party as possible, so that we don’t have to associate with them or, even worse, have people actually mistake us for one of them. Heck, we might not get invited to as many fancy parties if something like that happened. That’s their perspective, so naturally they’re quite frightened that principled Conservative Christine O’Donnell is on the verge of defeating one of their own, Mike Castle. So naturally the long knives are out between now and election day.

First there was the charge that she was unelectable. That charge seems particularly hollow this year, given that we already won in Massachusetts, a much more liberal state than Delaware, and New Jersey, again a more liberal state than Delaware, with candidates that were pretty Conservative overall. Of course the poll showing her beating the Democrat also didn’t help that cause (of course there are other polls showing her trailing the Democrat as well, clearly it’ll be close either way).

Another charge was basicly that she wasn’t rich enough to be a Senator. Unlike Mike Castle who is a limosine liberal, it seems Christine isn’t always able to pay her bills on time, although she has never failed to pay anything she has ever owed to anyone, but she just isn’t wealthy enough for some of the RINOs tastes. And that’s understandable, the RINOs tend to be quite wealthy, and the idea of people actually having to take some time to pay their bills could be foreign to them, but those of us in the real world have a certain familiarity with that concept, whether we like it or not .

Of course another concept the RINOs are unfamiliar with is Conservatism generally, which naturally is why they loves them some Mike Castle. But Conservatism is what’s causing our massive successes this year. This is an incredible Republican year, not for the establishment RINOs like Castle and Murkowski and Bennett and Crist, etc etc etc but for mainstream Conservative Republicans, like Miller, and Rubio, and Paul, and Buck, and Haley, and O’Donnell, etc etc etc. We the Conservatives, including in particular those Conservatives in the Tea Party, are driving voter turnout like never before. Typicly in primaries Democrats vastly outnumber Republicans, but this year, for the first time in MANY decades, Republicans are actually outnumbering Democrats by MILLIONS of votes. This isn’t thanks to the RINOs, this is IN SPITE OF the RINOS. Its their ‘leadership’ that drove our party out of power. We need fresh new Leadership, and this is our year to do it. Christine O’Donnell will be a big part of that process.

Let’s face it, anybody who tells you ‘We can’t vote for a Conservative in Delaware this year, Delaware isn’t Conservative enough’, what they’re really saying is they won’t EVER vote for a Conservative in Delaware, because if a Conservative can’t win this year, the strongest Conservative year in modern history, with weak Democrat running as a bonus, then maybe we really never will. But I don’t believe that for a minute, and even if I did believe it I still wouldn’t just give up and start voting for liberals.

The good news is this, Christine O’Donnell is within single digits, both of Mike Castle and the democrat (and that’s if you don’t believe the poll that showed Christine ahead of the democrat). This is an extremely close race, and that’s why the RINOs are running scared tonight, thats why they’ve launched this massive negative assault on the personal character of Christine. They know they can’t win on the issues, how could they? Castle is on the wrong side of all the issues, pro-abortion, pro-cap and trade, pro-union, pro-big government. Christine O’Donnell is a proud Conservative, she’s the opposite of Castle on all those issues, and so much more. She is a woman of very strong character, the attacks against her are of course false, as last minute desperation attacks generally are. In Alaska the Tea Party overcame a massive defecit (possibly more than 30 points) with their ad campaign, in Delware the margin they have to overcome is just 5 points. The RINOs know that the Tea Party can, and will, overcome that narrow margin very easily, that’s why they’re out to destroy Christine O’Donnell personally. Unless they can totally destroy her between now and election day, she wins, it’s really as simple as that. It’s up to folks like you and me, between now and then, to do our part to help a good Conservative, and a great American, Christine O’Donnell, win this election. She needs our help, the RINOs will stop at nothing to prevent a repeat of Alaska, and we need to do everything we can to make sure that they don’t succeed.

This is our chance, in Delaware September 14th is our November. If we lose, it’s liberal vs liberal in November, we lose either way, by default. We can only win in November if we win in September. So let’s win in September, and again in November! This is our year, this is our candidate, we can win this!

I saw this the other day, and I was really impressed. I believe that this is our modern day ‘Contract with America’, this is the platform that all our candidates can, and should, ride to victory in November. It has eight parts and here it is in its entirety:

I will never, ever vote for a taxpayer bailout of a private industry. Whether it’s big banks, automakers, or any other industry — you succeed or fail on your own.

I will not vote for an unbalanced budget. I will not vote for a tax increase. Ever.

I will fight for new rules like a Balanced Budget Amendment and Term Limits.

I will not take ANYTHING off the table in the fight to balance the budget. Anyone who says something like they will “freeze non-defense discretionary spending” is blowing smoke at you and hoping you won’t notice. That would balance the budget — MAYBE — in about 80 years.

We have to keep our promises to seniors and keep our country strong, but every area has things that can be cut. Every agency has things that are duplicative or that could be done better or cheaper.

I will propose and force a vote on an Enumerated Powers Act, to force Congress to point to the part of the Constitution that justifies their bills.

I will fight for the Bill of Rights. Democrats often love the 4th amendment. Republicans the 2nd. I will fight for them all, which means fighting for your free speech, gun rights, and civil liberties. Laws that infringe on ANY of these make the federal government more powerful, and we cannot continue to allow that.

I will not allow our troops to be the world’s policeman, and I will force a vote on a Declaration of War if any President seeks to commit our military to battle.

That was put out recently by Senatorial Candidate Rand Paul of Kentucky, but it could’ve been done by any of our great Conservative leaders running this year, and I believe that it should be the model that all our candidates follow. If all our candidates unite behind this platform, Contract with America style, I believe this would result in not only a massive victory, but a huge mandate as well, for these Conservative principles. I am extremely impressed by this campaign platform, and while obviously Rand doesn’t even need something impressive like this as he’s already comfortably ahead in his campaign, I believe what he has done provides a tremendous opportunity for other candidates across America, to adopt this platform as their own and ride it to sweet, sweet victory in November!

I never really understood why so many Conservatives didn’t like Shepard Smith, but certainly his coverage today of the ruling by the homosexual judge in California made it pretty clear that they were right all along. Not once in his coverage, in which he referred to the ruling as a ‘civil rights’ ruling, as if skin color and sodomy were the same thing, did he mention the fact that the judge who ruled in a pro-homosexual way was, in fact, a homosexual himself. The fact that the judge didn’t see any ‘logic’ in the Constitutional Amendment that declared marriage as being between a man and a woman isn’t surprising, given his own personal sexual practices, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Voters logic is indeed far superior to his own.

Of course, his own lack of intelligence shouldn’t even be relevant if he simply did his job. It’s not his job to rule whether the Constitution is ‘logical’ on a given point or not, it’s his job to uphold it, not to only uphold the parts he agrees with. He likely wouldn’t find the Freedom of Speech for those who disapprove of sodomy to be ‘logical’ either, and he would probably put people in jail for simply reading various passages from the Bible if he could (as has already happened elsewhere where the far-left has more power), but the fact is that judges are supposed to uphold the Constitution, not make laws based on their own personal preferences, sexual or otherwise. I don’t know exactly how the system works in California, but given that they have recall for their Governor it would certainly be nice if they have recall for judges also, he definitely should be impeached.

Earlier this evening, The O’Reilly Factor had a segment with the ‘Culture Warriors’, and while one of the regulars wasn’t on, the comments they made were stunning, and nothing short of outrageous. Tonight’s segment was about a series of moral issues that there had been recent polling done on, including abortion, homosexuality, adultry, etc. basicly various immoral activities were polled and the American public was asked whether they viewed these things as morally wrong or not. They discussed a number of issues, but the two issues that stood out were abortion and homosexuality, because the answers that these ‘Cultural Warriors’ gave were answers that you could’ve gotten if the ‘Warriors’ names were Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow. Im not kidding, these Fox News people, these self proclaimed ‘Culture Warriors’ were pro-abortion, and pro-gay sex.

In fairness, one of them, Gretchen I believe, didn’t really want to take a position at all on abortion, but her comments basicly took the form of ‘I dont want to say whether I think its right or wrong, but it should be legal’, and the other one, the one who was substituting for Margaret Hoover, who wasn’t there tonight, basicly tried to take a similar position but went further in saying that abortion was ‘morally acceptable’ if you want one. Maybe I’m engaging in pure wishful thinking here, but I don’t believe that Margaret Hoover would’ve given that kind of evil answer had she been there.

On the issue of homosexual sex, there was no debate, no ifs ands or buts, they just both plainly stated their outright support of gay sex. Really? No qualifiers, no pretense of caring about right and wrong whatsoever, just straight out support. Now, granted the way the question was phrased in the poll itself was ‘homosexual sex’ which includes men and women, and while obviously a lot more people would approve of sex between women than between men so obviously the wording of the poll skewed the results for the folks who were answering the poll, the way these two answered the question so strongly in favor clearly indicated their outright support of sodomy, there’s no doubt about that.

Where have we gone as a society when two people can claim to be ‘Culture Warriors’ and state on national television, on a Conservative network no less, their support of killing babies and men sodomizing each other? Again, this wasn’t political at all. Nobody even asked them a political question, they didn’t have to say whether they felt these evil acts should be legal, those comments they made in favor of abortion being legal were entirely volunteered, Bill actually asked them NOT to give an option on the legality of abortion, to keep it strictly on the morality of it, but they couldn’t resist. And of course they weren’t commenting on any laws against sodomy, they were stating only their personal opinions in favor of the acts themselves. Again, this was not in any way about these ‘Culture Warriors’ being morally opposed to abortion and sodomy but feeling it should be legal anyway, this was about their outright support of these morally reprehensible actions. Where have we come as a society, where the one Conservative network on TV gives its unanimous support to abortion and sodomy during the highest rated show on the Network, even if it was ‘only’ one segment of the show? For the record, Bill did not take a position on either issue, he merely put the topics out there for the so-called ‘Culture Warriors’ to discuss. Indeed if these women were ‘Culture Warriors’, then Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow would be equally suited to that title.

In the interests of fairness, I would like to point out that they did at least come out against one form of evil, adultry. Apparently it isn’t ’cool’ enough yet for the so-called Culture Warriors to embrace, although at the rate our society is decaying it may only be a matter of time. It is indeed a sad sign of the times that something like this could happen, and it reminds us all of just how desperately our nation needs God, and needs prayer. Only through God can our nation return to the awesomeness that it used to have, back when morals were common and families were stable. When people cared about others, and doing what’s right, as a matter of course. I hope and pray that we can get back to that in America.

When I heard the results of the CPAC voting I was rather surprised (as probably most everyone was), and then I saw a video of them announcing Paul as the winner and there were boos, and it seemed a bit odd. But a while ago I saw a longer version of the video, that doesn’t just show them announcing the winner, but announcing all the results. After many in the crowd boo Paul, the announcer guy mentions that Mitt Romney came in second, and the crowd just EXPLODES into cheers. Thats when it all made sense. The Romney folks stuck around to hear the results, believing, quite reasonably, they were going to win just like they had three years in a row. And when they heard they had finished second they reacted like grade-schoolers throwing a temper-tantrum. My candidate came in third, and there is no doubt in my mind that I wouldn’t have behaved like that at all had I been there. Their guy did even better, he beat everybody but one, and yet they still acted like spoiled brats. It reminded me of the smear campaign that certain Romney folks engaged in against Sarah Palin after she was selected over Romney to be VP, the vicious campaign that almost destroyed her, and no doubt played a BIG role in the ultimate defeat of the McCain-Palin ticket. Its time that some of the Romney people learn that they’re not special, they’re no different from you or me, and they should follow the same rules of class and decency that the rest of us follow. I know that most Romney people aren’t like that of course, but today’s behavior just reminded me of what they did to Governor Palin in 2008, and I suppose Im still a bit peeved about that . It really would be much better for everybody though, if they would learn to show the same grace and class that everybody else shows when they don’t get what they want. Its not like the rest of us don’t know what its like to lose at something, it happens to everybody.

The worst part about it for the true Romney fans who are well behaved and are good people (as of course most Romney supporters are), is that not only does this behavior make you look bad, it makes your candidate look bad. Paul won by virtue of a massive vote from young people, a group that voted heavily for Obama, but moved to Paul after they soured on Obama. They’re very much a swing voting group, and one that Romney will want to win if he becomes the nominee. If they see Romney as just another spoiled rich guy because of the actions of his supporters, thats obviously going to hurt him bigtime. Even more importantly than that though, these are people who agree with us as Republicans, whoever you support for President in 2012, on a LOT of issues, and I would MUCH rather us give them a good impression of Republicans in general so that regardless of who we nominate in 2012 and beyond, they will stay with us and be part of a winning Coaltion for years, even decades to come. That is FAR more important than who wins a straw poll, and far FAR more important than somebody’s desire to act out their frustrations on national television.

Last night’s victory in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or the People’s Republic of Massachusetts as it was commonly referred to in the past) has brought with it great joy, tremendous celebration, and just an all-round feeling of happiness to not just to Republicans or Conservatives, but to Conservative Democrats, Independents and Tea Party supporters as well. Indeed it was a victory for everyone who wasn’t a liberal Democrat. But amidst all the joy and celebration, what lessons can we take from this monumental victory, one that shook the Washington Establishment to its core?

For starters, that we aren’t alone. That we as Republicans, along with Independents and Tea Partiers and Conservative Democrats, are a majority even in one of the bluest of states (and they don’t come much bluer than Massachusetts). Second, candidates matter. The Democrats put up, in theory, their best possible candidate, the state Attorney General who was elected with 74% of the vote. She was for Massachusetts what Blumenthal is for Connecticut and Dodd’s seat, the top Democrat in the state, huge margin of victory in the previous race, and with early polling showing a massive lead for their candidate. She had everything going her way, so it was imperitive that we also find a good candidate. In Scott Brown, we found someone who was a regular American, someone who drives a truck, is married with two children, who works hard, plays by the rules, and isn’t afraid to go to Fenway Park and shake hands. Even in the cold. He’s a common man, a working man, the kind of person who doesn’t fit in with the Washington Elites, but who fits in very well with Main Street America, even Main Street Massachusetts. Thats an advantage that money can’t buy, and the type of candidate that can overcome even the most powerful of political machines.

So going forward, where can we apply these lessons? Everywhere, but two cases in particular come to mind right away. The powerful and the elite vs the common, hard working man is playing itself out in two high profile Senate Primaries, in Florida and California. In each case, we would be wise to heed the example of Scott Brown (or as he perhaps should be referred to from now on, Great Scott) and go with the common man, the anti-elite, the man who works hard, plays by the rules, doesn’t have the huge money but has the huge desire to do good and help others. Let us support Marco Rubio and Chuck DeVore in their quests to become the next Great Scott!

Like many of us tonight, I enjoyed watching the ‘Double Feature’ of ‘An American Carol’ and ‘Expelled’, two fantastic movies that were quite the treat to enjoy together, and I must say they inspired me. I could write about the evils of political correctness as witnessed in American Carol, about how we always have to be vigilant in the fight against the forces of evil, at home and abroad. Political correctness also rears its ugly head in a big, big way in ‘Expelled’ also, where Ben Stein reveals how the PC forces are fighting against scientific freedom, to prevent those of us who know God and that He created the Universe, from being allowed to prove that through science. Expelled ends with a call to action, Ben asks us to work to expose the actions of the PC folks so that one day we can bring down their wall of tyranny and let Freedom shine through once again. There is a lot of evil that the forces of Political Correctness have been up to lately, I don’t know where to begin, but I’d like to actually use something that I read earlier this evening to, in some small way, expose them for the frauds that they are.

The ‘politicly correct’ crowd would argue that they respect women, and that it is the Christian folks, the Conservative folks, the decent, hard working, middle Americans who don’t respect women. They offer as evidence of this so-called respect they have, that they support the right to kill innocent unborn children at any moment prior to (and in some cases even after) complete live birth. To the rest of us of course, this isn’t evidence at all, but perhaps there is a greater insight we can gain by looking at some of their recent actions. I’d like to mention two of these actions in particular, one of which all of us here are quite familiar with, the second I’ll wager almost noone here has heard about, nor would you ever hear about it if you weren’t about to read it here.

First, of course, is the way they savaged Governor Sarah Palin’s new book, doing extensive ‘fact checking’ that was in reality ‘opinion checking’, and their research certainly uncovered that Governor Palin did not have the ‘politicly correct’ opinion for the liberal sensibilities at the AP. The fact that they never fact checked ANY of Obama’s three books, not at the time of their publishing, nor at ANY point since, could simply be chalked up to the fact that they’re incredibly biased, not just against women but against Conservatives, and in favor of not just men, but liberals. Fine, taken by itself you could make that argument, I suppose it might even seem a reasonable explanation for their obvious double standard. But then I read something earlier tonight, also by our PC friends at the AP, and it just gave me what I believe is an incredible insight into the true thinking of these liberal PC folks, and I believe you will be as shocked as I was when I first read it.

It was an AP article on the ‘Female Athlete of the Year’. Now, you might assume Im going to criticize who they named as the #1 Female Athlete of the Year, and to be sure there is plenty of reason to disagree with giving the award to the woman who deserves the ‘worst behaved female athlete of the year’, instead of someone who is a true role model, such as one of the members of the incredible Penn State Womens Volleyball team, a team that has done something that noone has ever done before, three straight Championships and over 100 games undefeated, any one of the Seniors on that team would’ve surely been more deserving of this award, but their choice of #1 is not the source of my outrage, rather it is who they selected as #2. The runner up in the voting, the one who ALMOST won the voting, the voting done by the AP itself. You might want to be seated for this, you might not believe me when I say this, but you can look it up for yourself, its true, its darn true. The #2 ‘Female Athlete of the Year’ according to the AP, the athlete that according to the AP was a better ‘female athlete’ than any other woman in the world but one…..was A HORSE. Yes folks, Zenyatta, a fine horse to be sure, with a 14-0 record and everything, a HORSE is more deserving of ‘Female Athlete of the Year’ than any of the excellent members of the WNBA, the LPGA, Softball, Soccer, Track and Field, or of course the already mentioned amazing Volleyball Team at Penn State. These incredible Women Athletes are less worthy of respect, according to the AP itself, than a HORSE. I seriously can only imagine something like this being done as satire by some radio shock-jock, and then the guy probably getting fired. The idea that something like this could actually be SERIOUSLY written and voted on by ANYONE is mind-boggling to me. The fact that it was the AP, such a powerful bastion of Political Correctness, where there is supposed ‘respect’ for women, this proves what we already should have known, that they have no respect for women. They have exposed themselves for the frauds that they truly are, and we should never allow them to regain a shred of the dignity that they have forfeited through their own bigoted behavior. The PC types in general, and the AP in particular, deserve no respect nor should they ever again be thought of as ‘tolerant’ or ‘respectful of women’. They only pretend to be so to get what they want, and when they aren’t pretending, their true colors shine through loud and clear. We as Conservatives, and as Christians, should always expose this kind of fraud and corruption wherever we find it, and I must say it is especially satisfying to expose the far left PC types, like the AP folks, for the frauds that they are.

When I first heard about Governor Palin’s decision to resign as Governor, I was surprised, and curious to find out why. I was afraid she was quitting politics for some reason, even though there was no reason that was apparent. Having heard her eloquent speech, having read her comments that she gave via ‘tweet’ and facebook, it is apparent that my fears were happily unfounded. She isn’t quitting the game, she’s changing the rules.

No longer will the liberal media be free to lie, distort, and viciously smear her and her family without her being able to respond. Being Governor of Alaska was a great job, a job that she did better than perhaps any Alaskan Governor in history, and certainly she was the most effective Governor in America, getting more positive results in one term than others get done in mutiple terms. However that job comes with a steep price, while she is helping make Alaska a better place, she is unable to respond to the far-left in the lower 48 states. A change needed to be made, and she made it in dramatic style. Certainly she is right in saying that her decision is in the best interests of Alaska, as not only will her Presidency be the biggest thing for Alaska since they became a state, but in the meantime she’s leaving Alaska in the capable leadership of her right hand man, a man who will continue and build on her legacy of tremendous accomplishment and achievement.

I’ve written extensively in the past on what I feel Governor Palin should do to prepare for the 2012 campaign, but I’d like to re-state, and expand on those suggestions just a bit at this time. First, my suggestions that she start a PAC and campaign for other candidates, she did that and that has worked out excellently. She saved the Georgia Senate seat, and did so in truly impressive fashion. No doubt as she travels America and campaigns for more outstanding candidates she will continue to impress, as while she has proven her awesome leadership abilities, she also has proven amazing campaigning skills also, and the more she does it the better, for herself as well as for all of America. Another suggestion that I made, that I really hope she will take (maybe she has already) is that she learn Spanish. That is so important. For all the inside the beltway chatter that the only way to win the Hispanic vote is the offer amnesty and other such benefits to illegals, how’d that work for John McCain? George Bush scored a very impressive amount of the Hispanic vote, and he did so by, quite literally, speaking their language. That’s always the key to winning over a key voting demographic, speaking their language, and in this case its a bit more literal than usual . Hispanics are culturally Conservative, their views are a perfect fit with those of Governor Palin’s, if she can speak their language she can win them over in record numbers. One other suggestion I would like to make is that she follow up on one point she made in her speech as soon as possible, and that is the point she made about campaigning for people ‘regardless of party’. Specificly, she needs to find one (no need to stop at one of course) Democrat that she can support, promote, and make the symbol of her new kind of politics, that puts principle over party. It’s nice to say that you’re willing to support like minded Democrats, but saying it doesn’t make the impact that actually doing it does, once she actually does it she will start reaping the benefits, she will have proven her character and leadership to all those fair minded Democrats and Independents out there who just needed a reason to believe. She should find this person and make him/her famous, just like Joe the Plumber. It will be a win-win, for her, for the candidate, for America.

I’m proud to call myself a long time supporter of Govenor Palin’s, I was one of the people who campaigned hard to get Senator McCain to pick her as his running mate. She was the reason a lot of people, including myself, ended up voting for him in November. If she had been at the top of the ticket we’d probably have won. I believe that with Sarah Palin at the top of the ticket in 2012 we will win, and America will win!

In the first two parts of this series, I delved into some very basic, but very essential, elements of the plan, and if you haven’t yet read them I encourage you to do so after reading this, part three. Part three will focus on tips for what Governor Palin should do as she prepares for a 2012 Presidential Campaign.

First, let us remind ourselves that one of the key swing voting groups is the Hispanic vote. They are naturally Conservative, good Christian Americans, strongly pro-Life and pro-Marriage. It is only due to an extreme lack of basic judgement that there are more Democrats than Republicans among this voting group, as the Hispanic vote should be going 70-30 or better for the Republicans each year. Sadly, this year it pretty much went 70-30 against us, and obviously you can’t win elections when a huge voting group that SHOULD be overwhelmingly on your side, is overwhelmingly on the other side. Some have said in the past that the key to winning this group is by being pro illegal immigration. Well, the GOP nominee was the most pro-illegal in GOP history, and yet he lost the Hispanic vote by a historic landslide, to a candidate that Hispanics had already proven they didnt even like, in the Democratic Primaries. So anyone who suggests that our future nominees should be pro-illegal have been proven wrong once and for all. Instead we should focus our efforts to winning this group of voters by making some simple efforts. Governor Palin must immediately learn Spanish. Speaking Spanish was key to George Bush’s success Amongst the Hispanic vote, and certainly it helped Obama to speak a bit of Spanish. I never heard McCain speak any Spanish at all, if he did it was VERY VERY little because I heard a LOT of McCain, and it was all English all the time. If you quite literally cannot speak their language, you are going to have a hard time getting their vote. Obviously there are other elements to winning the Hispanic vote, including putting an increased emphasis on Family, Life, Marriage, the moral issues that Governor Palin supports and that the Hispanic Community is in 100% agreement with her, and us, on.

Another important element will be the tax issue. Its likely that Obama and the Congressional Democrats will raise our taxes between now and 2012, and the American People will be very much interested in lower, and fairer, taxes. To that end, Governor Palin should embrace the Fair Tax, make that issue her own, much the way that Governor Huckabee did in Iowa, and rode that issue all the way to victory in the First in the Nation Caucuses. The Fair Tax is both extremely popular and, well, extremely fair. The American People will love this proposal once they hear about it and understand it. Championing such an awesome piece of legislation will be of great benefit to the Governor, both in the Primary and in the General Election as well.

Third, I’m not sure how many people here regularly watch ‘Mr Independent’ Lou Dobbs, weeknights on CNN. I very much enjoyed watching him this campaign cycle, he is extremely fair, very knowledgeable, and brings a unique insight that the American People identify with, as it is the American People that he sides with on the important issues, not the special interests or the ideaologues on either side of the aisle. If you watched him regularly during the General Election, you know that he very much disliked Obama, McCain, AND Biden, and the only person he liked was Governor Palin. He constantly came to her defense as the liberal media lied about and slandered her, constantly attacking the liberal media for their bias and distortions. This man can, and should, be one of the Governor’s biggest allies in the media in 2012. His support will gain Governor Palin the support of countless Independent Americans who regularly watch Lou’s show, his endorsement would be quite simply invaluable. Also, his expertise on the most important issues of the day, including Border Security, Free and Fair Trade, the War on the Middle Class, etc would be of immense benefit to the Governor, as even though Governor Palin no doubt is far more knowledgeable on matters such as these than most give her credit for, the fact is that Lou Dobbs is one of the best and brightest in America on these issues, if she works together with him in forming her campaign platform on these crucial issues not only will it result in tremendous support from Lou and the Independent Minded Americans who watch his show, but it will quite simply result in an awesome campaign platform, and better Government once she is elected President, which means that everyone is a winner.

So these are my reccomendations in Part Three of this Post Election Plan. In short, Governor Palin should learn Spanish, embrace the Fair Tax, and meet and work with Lou Dobbs, a man who supported her this year and no doubt will support her even more strongly in 2012 if she plays her cards right. Remember, if you haven’t read the first two parts of this plan yet, please do so now. Thank you.

Thank you.

Hi. In Part One of this Post-Election Plan series I gave some advice to our candidate in 2012, Govenror Sarah Palin. I described in detail why it was vital that she immediately set up a PAC, and much more. If you haven’t read Part One, please do so after reading this. We’re still two days out from the Election, so I want to focus on more things that should be done regardless of the outcome. Like you, I am hoping and praying that McCain-Palin win this election. The following advice that I will be offering will be advice that will come in handy regardless of what happens in the election.

First, be generous with your time and money, a little could go a long way in this important step. We all should donate to our local library, but I imagine most of us, myself included, have never done so. For those of us who haven’t, let’s make this year the first! We’ve all seen the book “Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned the Political Establishment Upside Down” by Kaylene Johnson. I think we all know this is an excellent book about Governor Palin, and that it would be fantastic if everyone in America could read it. With that in mind I would like to ask each of you to find out if your local library has a copy of this excellent book, and if it doesn’t please donate a copy to them. If they already have a copy, perhaps another nearby library might be in need of one. Of course, if you know of an even better book, especially if your local library already has a copy of this excellent book, feel free to donate that one instead. Donating to our local libraries will make us feel good, knowing that we’re helping a good cause will make us feel great!

The next idea is similar to the first, and also very important. As you know, the Christmas Season is fast upon us, and what better gift to give our loved ones than the gift of knowledge? To that end, I would like to ask you to follow my lead, in giving the ‘Sarah’ book when you’re gift-giving this year. Of course it doesn’t have to be during the holidays, this is an excellent gift for birthdays or other special occasions.

The key is to spread knowledge. Governor Palin has a lot of liberal media bias to overcome. The liberals have gotten away with, thanks to the ineptitude of the McCain campaign, enabling the American people to simultaneously believe that Sarah Palin isnt qualified to be President, but that Obama is. Obviously thats pure sexism, since she is vastly more experienced and qualified than Obama is, but that sexism hasn’t been confronted with the ferocity that the Hillary campaign confronted the sexism they faced in the primaries. Republicans generally, and the McCain campaign specificly, have shown themselves to be quite weak at fighting sexist attacks by Democrats. As supporters of Governor Sarah Palin, we cannot be like that. If we allow ourselves to be weak in fighting sexism, we, and Governor Palin, will surely lose in 2012, as the sexism isnt going away, if anything it will likely get worse. One of the best ways of fighting sexist ignorance is with knowledge. I always tell my friends that Governor Palin cut taxes, cut spending, took on the big oil companies, balanced the budget and in fact ran a surplus, and gave 1200 dollars back to every taxpayer in Alaska. I tell them that makes her not just the most popular Governor in America, which the polls show, but in fact the most successful Governor in America. I usually dont even bother pointing out that incredible pipeline deal, or the killing the brdige to nowhere, or any of the other things she has done for Alaska and the Alaskan Taxpayer, because that information alone is enough to make my point quite powerfully. The more people read this book, and learn all those details and MORE, that will go a LONG way toward overcoming the ignorant sexism that has been rampant from the Obama media.

The very idea that they have turned the most popular, successful, and yes VERY ‘qualified’ Governor in America into someone seen by over half of America as ‘unqualified’ is an extreme outrage to me, and I know it is to you as well. But it isn’t enough to whine about and it and then shrug our shoulders, if we do that the sexist liberal media will have scored one of their biggest victories ever. They want to steal America’s Margaret Thatcher from us, to deny us, as well as America as a whole, her historic Presidency and outstanding leadership. We can’t, and I trust we WON’T, let that happen. Please join with me in taking solid, positive steps in fighting the ignorance and sexism, these are steps we can, and should, take regardless of who wins the election Tuesday.

Like you, I am hoping and praying that McCain-Palin win the election Tuesday. I am certainly more optimistic now that the polls are tightening and the Campaign has finally hit its stride. However as a Chess Master I know the importance of looking far ahead, and that is something that is very important in politics also. It is so easy to get into the heat of a campaign and forget what it is you’re supposed to be doing. Just look at what the McCain campaign has done for the last few weeks. If they’d made a good plan for the stretch run, they’d have been focusing on their winning issues, Drilling for Oil and attacking Obama’s support for drivers liscenses for illegals. These are HUGELY winning issues for McCain, but because his campaign apparently had no real plan for the final month of the campaign they’re being completely ignored. This is a mistake that could’ve been easily avoided simply by having a plan. Let’s not make the same mistake.

To that end, I am presenting a series, not just a single post, on where we go from here Post-Election. Much of this advice will be for our candidate in 2012, Governor Sarah Palin. She’s new to national politics, and some of the tried and true methods of winning elections, especially primary elections, may be things she isn’t familiar with. I’ll detail some of the most important steps she needs to take to make sure she secures the nomination of our Party, so that she can go up against either Majority Leader Hillary Clinton, or President Obama (depending on who wins Tuesday), from a position of maximum strength and effectiveness.

One of the most important things that Governor Palin can do is to set up a Political Action Committee, the sooner the better. The basic function of this PAC will of course be to raise money to give to various Conservative Republicans running for office throughout America, especially those who are running in the early primary/caucus states such as Iowa and New Hampshire. While it is noble and good in and of itself to raise money for these deserving candidates, the ultimate goal of this PAC is not simply to elect more Conservative Republicans to office, it is to to elect Conservative Republicans to office who will then support Governor Palin in her 2012 Primary campaign. Campaigning for, and raising money for candidates is one of the most basic early building blocks of any potential Presidential campaign, as it lays an important foundation for when you actually announce your candidacy.

Another important thing is to learn how to effectively raise funds, something that is obviously easier said than done, but it is nevertheless something that MUST be done. We’re in a new time, a new age of fundraising, the old ways don’t work anymore, as we’re finding out in a big and terrible way right now. Only one Republican in the 2008 Primary season had a clue how to raise big money via the Internet, and it certainly wasn’t John McCain so she can’t learn from him. Its important to study just how Obama on the left and Ron Paul on the right raised such impressive sums via the internet, as Governor Palin cannot afford to be outspent the way that John McCain has been. There’s just no sense in letting it happen when we don’t have to, its like starting a football game down 14-0, completely unacceptable. Granted, a lot of Obama’s money may have been raised via fraud, the Washington Post just had an interesting article about that recently, but even so he surely raised enough money legitimately to make the methods he used worth studying. It’s also worth noting that Hillary had an extremely effective Internet fundraising effort, and in the end it may be that hers is the model that Sarah should use for her own campaign, certainly it would be particularly good PR to say that she’s modeling her fundraising efforts after Hillary’s.

Of course there is much, much more for Governor Palin, as well as Conservatives in general, to focus on after this Election, but I want to close Part One of this series with the reminder that we still have 5 days until the Election, and everything will be so much nicer if John McCain is in the White House and Sarah Palin is running for President from Washington instead of Alaska. A lot is on the line, and we can all do more, so let’s get to it .

We all know that tomorrow Obama will be on several major TV stations for a half an hour of….well, we dont know what exactly, but he’s got a half hour to do or say whatever he wants. The McCain campaign should purchase a half hour on the same networks, or at least ONE of the networks, and let it be known in advance what it will be, because it will be VERY news-worthy and cause people to want to tune in. They should announce that for half an hour, Sarah Palin will take questions from Dan Rather, live, unedited, no area off limits.

This idea came to me after seeing Dan recently on the Joe Scarborough morning show, it occured to me that Dan is fighting pretty hard to remain in any way relevant these days. I know most here probably still dislike him because of what he did to Bush in 2004, but he’s getting up there in years and I think he would jump at the chance to do something like this, to suddenly be the most relevant journalist in America again. And the public would watch because they still like and trust him (they certainly know hes no friend to Republicans after what he pulled in 2004), and no doubt they would expect him to ask tough but fair questions, which I believe he would do. If Sarah is able to stand up to a half hour of live, unedited, no area off limits, tough questioning it would put to rest once and for all the doubts that any fair minded person could have about her, and since those doubts are the only thing standing between McCain and victory at this point, a strong performance by Governor Palin with America watching should pretty much guarantee McCain the election. We know she’s capable of doing it, certainly she had one bad interview but that sure beats Biden by a MILE, its unclear whether he’s had more bad interviews or good ones at this point in the campaign . No doubt that she would do an excellent job fielding Dan’s tough questions, and it would truly be a historic evnet just days before Election Day, so maximum viewership would be assured.

I can’t overstate just how much something like this could help McCain win, and I hope they decide to do it. After she can beat Joe Biden like a government mule in their debate, answering Dan Rather’s questions should be a piece of cake for the Governor!

With just 10 days to go until election day, and McCain still trailing in every single poll, usually by a fairly bad margin, it is worth reminding ourselves once again how it was just about a month and a half ago that McCain-Palin was AHEAD, including one poll that had them up by 10 points. How did it all go so wrong? Its really not that hard to figure out.

Normally, a Presidential campaign involves two candidates that aren’t well liked. This year however, both parties managed to nominate candidates who, despite their obvious shortcomings on the issues, are well liked personally. This was the year to run a much more positive, upbeat campaign, and when you must run negative ads make them the ‘fun’ kind, like the ‘Celebrity’ ad that worked so well because it was lighthearted and true. The ultra-negative personal attacks on Obama didnt work, and in this environment it should’ve been obvious that they couldn’t possibly work. Thats poor campaign strategy #1.

On a less serious, but not unimportant, note, another mistake the McCain campaign made was with their signs. I was out the other day helping to put up McCain signs, and afterward just riding around seeing the various signs around the area. The McCain and Obama signs are pretty much the same color, a good solid color no doubt, but McCain had MUCH better. Instead of a solid blue, how about reflecting his Running Mate by making his sign half blue and half pink? The top part that says McCain should’ve been blue, as it was, but the bottom half that says Palin should’ve been pink. It would’ve stood out, and re-emphasised the best part of the ticket, his running mate. Just one more opportunity missed.

Back to policy. In this time of economic crisis, McCain blew his economic credentials by not only supporting the socialist Bailout that the American People hated, but he did it in a manner that also made him look a bit nuts. Its hard to imagine how he possibly could’ve handed that whole situation any worse, and it allowed Obama to simply sit back, do nothing, supply absolutely no leadership whatsoever, basicly ‘vote present’ one more time, and come out of the whole thing smelling like a rose despite the fact that he too supported the bailout. But this election is ALL ABOUT the economy, because of the crisis. McCain needed SO badly to come out with some kind of major economic proposal to reassure the voters that while yes, he made a terrible mistake supporting that bailout, if you vote for him he will do much better in the future. Sadly, his first decision was to instead IGNORE the economy altogether and focus on Ayres, the worst timing possible for that move. Then he finally wised up after seeing his defecit climb even higher, gee what do you know the people seem to actually want to hear about the economy during an economic crisis? No doubt the Mccain Campaign officials were shocked by this revelation .

Having finally gotten the message however, do they make a major statement, announcing a one year suspension of the gas tax, the capital gains tax, all taxes on IRAs and 401ks, cool stuff like that? No sir, they make a couple super boring proposals that I can’t even remember right now and I’m paying WAY more attention to this race than the average person, Im guessing the average Joe Six Pack out there couldn’t tell you a single thing that McCain wants to do on the economy if elected. And why? Because what little he actually proposed isn’t even being promoted, instead he’s spending all his time going negative on Obama once again. At least its on the economy this time, but he’s making the incredible mistake of calling Obama’s proposal to cut taxes ‘socialism’. If you’re going to attack his tax plan, you attack him for his tax INCReASES, not his tax CUTS, that is just insane. Granted they are going after his ‘spread the wealth’ tax hike comments, and thats good, but instead of saying ‘Obama wont cut anybody’s taxes, he’s only going to raise taxes’ you still hear people making the insane argument that ‘Obama wants to cut taxes for 40% of Americans who dont pay any taxes, and thats socialism’. First, the idea that 40 percent of Americans dont pay taxes is insane, NO American doesn’t pay taxes, you couldnt escape them no matter how hard you tried. Granted many Americans dont pay FEDERAL INCOME taxes, but that isnt relevant, even if you dont pay federal income taxes you are still overtaxed in America and deserve a tax cut. Instead of saying ‘we agree every American needs a tax cut, and we will cut every American’s taxes, but Obama will raise taxes on all Americans to pay for his massive spending plans’, an argument that would be, you know, SANE, they instead attack the very idea of cutting taxes for the lower 40% of America. FORTY PERCENT of the country, just look at that from a purely political perspective. How can anybody in their right minds WILFULLY INSULT 40 percent of the voters, by saying to them that they dont deserve a tax cut, and that if they’re given one that amounts to WELFARE?? Im not sure whether thats better or worse than calling them racists, as Murtha did, but in either case its absolutely horrible and nobody in their right mind should be doing it.

So for all the mistakes he’s made, McCain is no doubt still in this race with a chance. So how does he finish the campaign on an up-note, win the vast majority of the late deciders as Hillary always did, and win this election for the good of America? Well, they’re on the right track with this whole ‘Joe the Plumber’ campaign, they definitely need to stick with that theme, but BROADEN IT to include not just attacks on Obama’s plan, but actually saying HERE IS HOW MY PLAN WILL HELP JOE THE PLUMBER. It would be so easy to put an ad up saying that Obama wants to raise taxes on Joe the Plumber, but I want to cut his taxes by (fill in the amount here), good hard numbers to show concrete proof of how a McCain administration would help folks like Joe. It is NOT, NOT, NOT enough just to attack Obama, you HAVE to show the folks how your plan will help them. This shouldn’t be a hard concept to grasp, but for the McCain campaign it certainly is.

Another thing they have to do is give Sarah Palin more opportunities to rebut the savage attacks by the liberal media. No doubt if not for those attacks McCain would probably be ahead right now. They need to do a half hour TV buy like Obama is doing, giving those 30 minutes to Sarah, promoting her record in Alaska, and letting her speak for herself to explain to the American People why she is in fact the MOST qualified of the four Presidential and VP candidates, and that Obama is by far the least qualified. Such a 30 minute buy would no doubt get more viewers than Obama’s will, and be MUCH more beneficial to the McCain campaign than Obama’s buy will be to his own.

Finally, the McCain campaign has two major issues that they are on the side of the VAST majority of Americans, and Obama is on the other side, and they should be used in the final ten days. The first is obvious, Drilling and Energy Independence. This is an economic issue and its a national security issue, Drill Baby Drill, how did this issue get dropped from the McCain playbook? Its such a winner, McCain and the Republicans support getting our own oil here, Democrats do not. Its simple, its effective. The other issue is one that somehow Obama has gotten a free pass on the ENTIRE campaign, I honestly don’t understand how it happened or why. His support of drivers liscenses for illegal immigrants is SUCH a devastatingly bad position, he took it in a futile effort to get the hispanic vote in the primaries, and now that issue should be houding him every single day of the general election campaign. Instead its not being mentioned at all, except in some independent ad I saw a week or so back, that they ran in Ohio I think. That would explain why McCain is doing better in Ohio than most of the other swing states, and it needs to be in EVERY swing state, this is a HUGE HUGE loser for Obama, and if there are to be any more negative ads by the McCain campaign that is the one issue they should focus on.

So there you have it, a formula for victory, even with only 10 days to go its not too late. Lets get out there and win this thing!

By now we all know that Barak Obama has bought 30 minutes of Prime Time TV that he will use in about a week. What we don’t know is how McCain plans to counter that. Right now it kind’ve seems like he DOESNT plan to counter it, which of course would be insane, particularly given how cheap this ad buy was, according to media reports. It seems the half hour time was less than a million dollars per network, a price so low even the McCain campaign could swing it. But the question is, how could McCain put a half hour of prime time television to best use? The answer is surprisingly simple, give it to Sarah Palin. Ask yourself this question. Who do the American People want to see? Who moved the numbers more for McCain than anyone else? One of the major reasons why McCain is behind is because the media’s relentless attacks on her have not properly been answered, and this would give her a chance to show the American people how wrong those attacks were.

With thirty minutes of prime time, they would be able to start with a bit more detailed background on her accomplishements in Alaska, rooting out GOP corruption, cutting taxes and spending, taking on the big oil companies and giving 1200 dollars to every taxpayer in Alaska due to her massive budget surplus. Then go into some of the issues in this campaign, selling McCain in a way that he simply cannot, or will not, do himself. This will work better than anything McCain could do with 30 minutes simply because more people will watch her than will watch him. If done right, and theres no reason why it wouldn’t be, her numbers will go way up, leading to his numbers going up, and winning the election. I certainly hope the McCain campaign goes this route, instead of squandering the same amount of money on 30 second ads that won’t have nearly the same impact.

The economy is the only issue that voters care about right now. It seems like a lifetime ago, but it was only fairly recently that McCain held a 10 point lead in one major poll. Now he trails by double digits in multiple polls, and it is thanks entirely to his complete mishandling of the economy. His decision to suspend his campaign against Obama and to campaign against the American People and taking over 800 billion of our hard earned money and simply giving it away, has been the worst decision of his career. The American People trusted John McCain on the economy, they gave him a big lead in the polls, and he betrayed that trust by giving away over 10 thousand dollars of real money from every household in America. He campaigned against the American People who hated this bailout, and he won, but the American People lost and now it seems they want to hand McCain the same loss he handed them. The only way McCain can win this election now is by convincing them that this was a one time error in judgement, and that he really can be trusted with our money. To that end, he must propose big, bold, and extremely popular economic proposals at the debate tonight. It seems he can’t think of these on his own, but now he doesn’t have to, because here they are, the economic proposals to fix the economy and win the election.

First, he should call for the elimination of the gas tax for one year. In the primaries McCain and Hillary both called for a gas tax holiday, one that was very popular among regular people, and even somewhat popular among Democrats. Instead of a brief holiday, this would be a year long tax break, so that during this recession the American People are able to get to where they need to be at a more reasonable price. Everyone who has to drive to work will love this proposal.

Second, Mccain should propose the elimination of the Capital Gains Tax for one year. This would do more than anything else to stimulate the economy, it would send a signal throughout the entire world that America is the place to put your money, we are the place to be during these troubled times. Obviously investors will love this, but all of America will love the unprecedented effect it will have on our economy.

Third, he should propose the elimination of all taxes on seniors taking their money out of IRAs and 401Ks for one year. I believe he called for a reduction in these taxes, and that can still be his long term plan, but in the short term that tax should go down to zero. Seniors have had their retirement savings HAMMERED in this brutal stock market environment, they don’t deserve to lose another penny to the tax man. This would be of enormous help to Seniors across America.

Finally, McCain must propose a bold and powerful change to the tax code itself. What better way to regain the trust of the American People, who WANT to trust John McCain but just can’t right now because of his bailout betrayal, than to call for the elimination of the agency they hate the most, the IRS? The Fair Tax is well known by Conservatives, who will be able to go on all the major TV and radio shows and explain the details to the American People so they can get behind this vastly superior tax system. Who doesn’t like the idea of keeping the money you earn?

McCain must eliminate all 30 second ads, all the attack ads, he must promote this four point economic plan with 60 and 120 second ads, in major speeches, and in web videos. It must be the focus of his campaign in every way. This is the economic plan that will convince the American People to trust him again on the economy, and win him the election.
